  1. Issue we faced last night, the club set up is for 3 tall forwards plus Fritsch and the 3 smalls that work high and then back. We are running with one less tall and the smalls are having little impact. B Brown is playing to high up the ground to compete in the air, max and Jackson both terrible. B Brown is a lead up forward we are killing this bloke asking him to get so high up the ground to create a contest at long bombs out of d50. When teams like last night dominate us at clearance we struggle to get field position and have to work to hard up and back. I hope we are training at Casey fine tuning or game plan for finals, we keep playing the way we are it is going to be a short finals campaign
  2. We have lost our dare and just want to play safe down the line footy. It is boring and frustrating to watch.
  3. Is he that good that you think he would go first round. If Brayshaw goes we will get end of first round pick, shame he is worth more but we can't complain to much that is what hawthorn got for buddy.
  4. The advantage of banking early wins it gives you options. You will hit flat spots with in a season, it is all about peaking at the right time. It's a build, you need to build to be hitting top form. Some clubs need to peak early to get the hype and confidence up, others like us are fortunate to be able to map our your season to ensure you are peaking in September. Different ball game for us now
  5. A 21 year old premiership ruckman, not a bad player to get to start your rebuild. They still have the bones of a good midfield if they can get fit. Yeo, Kelly, Shuey still have 3 to 5 years in them.
  6. 150 years of history in the competition to start with. Tassie hasn't been able to maintain a side in the vfl or u18s. AFLW, yep and moving it to late in the year no one is going to give a stuff. AFLW should have been capped at 8 sides
  7. The AFL can not afford to massively bank roll another club. They have gws, gcs and aflw draining the bank account. Attendance is down the game is Boring and over umpired. This stadium thing is basically saying go get stuffed for 5 to 10 years and you can be some else's problem
  8. Not that hard being a journo, I'm sure both WCE and Freo have offers in front of Jackson. Freo don't really need him though, WCE are in dire need to replace Nic Nat. They would need to back end an offer as you have a few players pulling way to much out off the club at the moment. I still think Jackson stays for 2 years and Brayshaw will be gone
  9. Hard to predict, is the last 3 weeks the indicator or the previous 17 weeks. We don't seem to have that dare and fight at the moment. Last year we fought when challenged last 3 weeks we caved. Our remaining games is a lot harder draw than first half of year
  10. Contested marking, last year we were taking Contested marks the last 3 weeks we are getting out marked at the contest. Max is going ok but Lever, Jackson, B Brown and M Brown just not bringing the ball to ground
  11. In May, Rivers, Weiderman, Dunstan, Bedford Out Turner, Sparrow, Harmes, M Brown, Spargo Brayshaw back into mid rotation
  12. Where is Mark Williams. Out kicking skills have dropped dramatically. Our forward line is broken.
  13. The sports science involved at AFL now is massive. The management of players game time, training time, ball contacts, contact drills time, distance covered and the speed players are analysed. In regards to loading in a period, not sure about loading but you would taper off you load to peak at certain times. The advantage of having 10 wins on the board you might look at keeping loads up a bit longer and taper off later to ensure you hit your peak at the optimal time.
  14. Our back 6 has struggled the last 2 weeks us well. We need May back, petty down back so Lever can find some form. Then we need Rivers and Hibberd back to lock down midsized to enable Salem and Bowey to set up the forward play from back there. I reckon having Max up forward more has unsettled the forward line and we just don't hit the leading player. It is all about hitting the spot hoping for a contested mark or crumbing goal. Strengthen the back 6 and work out our forward entries
  15. Out hunt, m brown, Tomlinson, Sparrow In Hiddard, May, Weiderman, Rivers Brayshaw back onto the wing.
  16. We are back 2019 and 2020 kicking to that 25m out spot with 2 th 3 flying for same mark. This is also to do with what teams are doing against us, numbers in our forward 50m arc and get us on the rebound. There is no space up there that is why centre clearance work is so important.
  17. Our forward line and movement into forward 50m is really bad.
  18. No question he gets off, there was nothing in that.
  19. Player managers dropping garbage to media to try to get another contract.
  20. WCE have to look to off load players as they have Salary cap issues. Not a good place, well and truly past their best with some big contracts and no kids coming through. Getting Tim Kelly was meant to keep them in contention. It will be a very slow rebuild.
  21. Afl counts all the club freebies. It is the biggest chest beating number to afl has.
  22. It can't run in parallel with the mens game as it will get no coverage and at those pay rates the AFL can not afford a full season. Public interest in AFLW is falling and will continue to do so as the quality of the product is still extremely poor. It won't improve for a long period as it isn't an elite program with 18 sides. It should be 8 sides which is a better reflection on the percentage of girls that play the game compared to boys, still high but you need 8 sides for a decent comp. If you had 8 sides 14 game season with finals, more money for the players and it will be a good standard of football. The AFL however knows that the male product at grassroots is in massive decline, other sports are smashing AFL for male participation add in online gaming, covid, the only way AFL can grow is through increase female participation.
  23. I don't think so, AFL will subsidise his wage outside of the soft cap for promotion of the game.
  24. The big one is Harris, does she chase coin at the expansion clubs or stick fat with Melbourne. To me she really looked happy this season enjoying playing and her team mates.
