  1. So let's arm the bulldogs or Melbourne with a pick 4 to help them bring in top 10 talent, especially bulldogs who have a father son that is also expected to be first round
  2. We have a ruck that gets better with more game time. The 10 percent of time Gawn doesn't ruck, tmac smith or even Tomlinson can go in. What do you do bring in some one that is ineffective up forward to ruck for 15mins a game
  3. No idea why people are concerned with selection, we don't have a lot of options and the 3 we brought in are more the capable of doing their role.
  4. The GC could also be ruthless and not trade, why should they give a pick to another club to enable them to strengthen their list. Be happy to lose it for one of their 3 first round players they will get from their academy
  5. Matt Kennedy is there to play a defensive role, not sure if that is on Oliver or Jake Lever. I expect a mid role on Oliver and to protect cripps. Just need a good start, the blues have been up for a long time, give them a sniff and we will be in trouble, jump them early hit the scoreboard and they will deflate very easy.
  6. I'm involved at Junior level, the number 1 cause of concussion that I've seen are from a sling tackle. Grounds are harder these days, as soon as the head hits the ground you are in trouble. The crack down on this action has certainly decreased the concussions. The bump players know you bump high you are in trouble. The next is the so called footy acts, when you look at these very few and far between. I think the moment you go past the ball and hit high in any contact form you will be in trouble.
  7. He isn't coming back from an ACL tear at his age. My understanding is that if you are injured and delisted you still get some sort of remuneration from AFL until you are fully recovered, plus you still will have access to the best rehab. As good as he was for a handful of games, he should be delisted, maybe rookie him at best
  8. Spot on, no point drafting key forwards if we can't hit them up.
  9. Port are linked to 2 defenders at the moment, looking at there current draft picks cupboard is pretty bare, which means future picks. If they get it wrong with Tassie coming in the cliff will be extra high to climb back up
  10. You can add Brown onto the Wing at Casey, we will get him late in the draft or rookie
  11. No player wants to finish off playing VFL, Woey Jnr is ahead of Harmes now, so he is looking. The dees though would want him just in case so won't give him away for nothing, he is more valuable on our list than a third round pick.
  12. If we are thinking Brayshaw isn't going to play, we need to secure pick 1 and Harley Reid.
  13. Send him to Sydney with Grundy, get pick 11 and a fourth round pick
  14. When will the compromised Drafts for Tasmania kick in? That will play a big part in clubs strategy this trade draft period.
  15. The worse thing is the AFL will tighten up the law that is you go past the ball make head high contact that causes injury you will get 3 weeks, I bet the first player suspended by this new rule will be a Melbourne player, bit like Trengrove with dangerous tackle
  16. Do you expect anything less, just look how his reign at Collingwood ended.
  17. Everyone called it, we all expected him to get off at some stage, although I thought it would be at appeal or in court.
  18. If he goes, any chance we can get Rattern back to gill his role
  19. Some of the reporting around this incident is just plain stupid. Deal with this action and get off the band stand about this will change to game. Each week in the AFL there are hundreds of body collisions, only a very small percentage cause injury and those ones need to be dealt with by the tribunal or mro. To say if Maynard gets weeks it will change the game, bring in high marks and other contacts into the discussion is just stupid. The AFL already has a couple of class actions pending for concussions. That is at AFL level, there will be the next wave of state league footballers, followed by local footballers all that at the time of playing would have had insurance policy through the relevant league appointed insurers. Changing our thinking on protecting the head is vital to ensure the game is a product that a company will continue to insure the participants. Deal with the incident at hand, he went past the ball, turned a smother into a bump hit a player high and knocked him out. What a shame as well, no matter what happens tonight everyone is talking an appeal, if the appeal fails for Collingwood we are hearing court action. Meanwhile you have a bloke not playing with a chance he may never play again.
  20. Yep, he doesn't want to be the no 1 ruckman in the VFL. He goes to Sydney is the No 1 ruck and good luck to him. Just give us a blinder on Friday night and help us beat the blues
  21. 22 is about right for Grundy, be nice if we could swap picks, maybe pick 11 and 22 for Grundy our first and MFC second round pick 36ish
  22. He didn't watch the spotlight interview last night on channel 7, if you don't protect heads at the top level what chance do you have at local and junior level
  23. Interesting night at the tribunal, a bloke that elected to bump and knocked a guy out, plus another that hit a bloke in the head. Both clubs will claim these are incidents that unfortunately happen in Footy, AFL will claim you hit them in the head with force and you had other options. I get the feeling Maynard decision will be appealled either way by Collingwood or the AFL
  24. Maybe I'm to old to understand the bump today, the old hip and shoulder.
