No idea what has been going on with Oliver and we still need to have real concern for Brayshaw. Billings adds that little more depth.

Why Melbourne Must Hire a Coach to Solve Their Forward Woes
drdrake replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
The kicking into to f50 is the issue so really ticking both or do you mean the Goal kicking. We have banged on about this for years, the game plan is based on the skill level of our players. We need to be a contested team kicking to a contest as we don't have the skill by foot in our midfield. Kicking long, repeat entry, score from pressure, that is us until we get some really good ball users in the midfield -
Why Melbourne Must Hire a Coach to Solve Their Forward Woes
drdrake replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Solving forward line Woes is a midfield, game plan issue not a forward line one. Fix the garbage delivery going in and your 80% the the way there. -
It creates clicks and that is all that matters in journalism these days. They won there finals games by basically under a goal in each, doesn't take much for those results to go the other way.

So we have everything we need to prepare our players spread over 2 facilities. I get it not ideal to share and travel but really we have what is needed to prepare our players.
-
What are we missing? What equipment, infrastructure do others have that we don't have?
-
Amazing facilities, must have poor conditioning staff as they wouldn't have had many games over the past 3 years that their best 22 played. New facilities, massive injury issues.
-
Of all the players moving who do you want or who do we need? We have 2 players, a forward/ruck and a mid size forward that want to come to us. Not sure who we would want
-
It wasn't just Grundy for 11 it was Grundy and our pick 25, even swap pick 33 for pick 44.
-
With Sydney seeming to be going after a few players, do we go after pick 11 for Grundy with our dockers second round pick
-
Yep, our two late second round picks get the Fullarton and McAdam deals done. Leaves us with 2 first rounds and after Grundy deal we should have 2 picks inside 30. I reckon we will bundle up picks to improve our draft order taking 3 top 20ish picks and Brown. I think if Harmes goes it will be more about draft position than a later pick.
-
These top line kids have been tested do many times that not many fall under the radar now. These combines are more about picks 10 to 40 than top 10.
-
If JVR, Petty and Smith can hold down the AFL forward spots, our VFL will be stacked with talls
-
Pick 35 to 50 is about his currency, or we use him with to advance a pick
-
Straight to Adelaide for McAdam or to Brisbane
-
Three reason why this talk of Oliver trade may have any substance but I do believe it is garbage 1) Club has stuffed up Salary Cap 2) Oliver is upset in his rehab this year 3) Club realises that our mids collectively can't hit targets and we want to keep Petracca, therefor Oliver has the highest trade return
-
Football wise, much more enjoyable season to watch. The competition is close and will get closer next season as WCE and North improve. The lack of investment in the technology to get goal reviews right is a concern. The 4 umpires also was a complete failure. Inconsistency with tribunal and MRO continues to be frustrating. On field the players and coaches made it a good season, off field the AFL new leader has a bit to fix
-
It doesn't matter, we back our mids to go head to head and there is no room for Harmes in our midfield rotation.

Plus what every Tassie concessions. Brisbane and Sydney have double win FS and NGA priority access. -
The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
drdrake replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
He won't be there as I reckon North will take him with the McKay compensation pick 3. The hard part with all this pick swap we need to know what clubs will get next year in relation to Father Sons and NGA picks. Such a massive advantage bulldogs have been massive winners in recent years, now Brisbane not only get NGA priority but also father Son which gives them another Ashcroft next season. Sydney and Brisbane should have limits on NGA as they have access to FS where as GCS and GWS don't as yet -
What if the reason Footscray want pick 4 is to trade this to WCE for pick 1 and 19 for pick 4 and Naughton. That will give WCE Curtin and Naughton Bulldogs Reid and Croft. If the bulldogs think Naughton will leave as free agent next year, get something this year. WCE then remove Freo from FA next year and they have cleared a bit of salary cap space to make this happen. Scary the dogs can really set themselves up for next 10 years with NGA pick before rule was changed, and father son picks, add in Reid as well.

The 2023 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
drdrake replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The FS, Academy picks you now these players will effect the draft number but it won't effect the pool of players available at that pick. If pick 5 goes to 7 we will still have access to the same pool of players to select. -
At the moment we are looking at Grundy to Swans for early second round pick 22 is Jordon to Swans hopefully for after second round pick 33 is Mcadam in, I think the pick we get for Jordon does this deal Harmes still looking, unfortunately for Harmes he is worth more to the club than what we will get in return unless it is a part of a package to get a player in or advance our second round pick. Then we add in pick swapping that may net up another first round pick. Pretty big couple of weeks coming up

You take them to the draft for a team that has sat in the top 4 for the last 3 seasons to get 3 players inside the top 15 is a massive opportunity to have an extended period contending, especially considering the compromised Drafts coming up -
Won't matter state has no money, going to be some lean budgets coming up
