  1. Only if they can be taught and we either haven't been teaching correctly or players not listening, we don't have the midfield depth to know which one is true, I would say a mixture of both. A team will always beat a team of individuals no matter how good those individuals are, our back 6 are I think we saw last year with May as the General back there started to really work for each other this season. Our mids and forwards don't show any signs that they have progressed in the team football approach.
  2. This is why I'm open to trade Oliver or Brayshaw, I don't want to get to the end of 2021 and be having the same discussions about our midfield group and I think these 2 and Viney need a massive re-education on playing team football, I'm not sure they will be able to adjust.
  3. We have good individual players in our midfield, but as a group they are poor. That is the challenge for the coaching staff getting our players and in particular the ones you mention playing team football rather than selfish football. I often compare out team to an U9 side they all go to where the ball is and all want to possession, they need to be coached to work for each other, there is only 1 football in play at 1 time means only 1 person can have it. We need to work harder off the ball to create space, make it easier to for our team mates to win the ball and get a clean possession rather than the under pressure 1m flick handballs. The forward line just doesn't apply more pressure to keep the ball inside our 50m arc and repeat entries, that is why I'm surprised we haven't been linked to any small pressure forwards
  4. On Salem, I think we will see a different player in 2021. Over the past few years it would be difficult to be that run and carry HBF as you are mindful of the ball being turned over, little forward pressure keeping the ball locked inside our 50m arc and your opponent hurting you on the rebound. I think with the back 6 we will have plus the defensive running of our wings it will allow Rivers/Hibberd/Salem to take more risks knowing that someone will cover your opponent. The reason why Houli is so damaging is he knows that if he takes off, his forwards will pressure to keep the football so he isn't caught out of position defensively and if he is someone will help him to cover his man. We need more forward pressure it enables your HBF to take more risks. I'm surprised we haven't been linked to any small forward through trade talk.
  5. Or that is the Pick for Brown
  6. It is us trading them a player not the other way around. To make up their points they need to trade a player, no club will offer the overs they need to make up points, the deal mentioned gives the 217 more points then there current pick is worth.
  7. We don't need to cover the 2400 points only the value of pick 14, 1141 points. As Spirit of Norm Smith mentioned pick 25 and 30 gives them 1358 points so really we should be asking for pick 14 and future second round pick for picks 25 and 30 plus Hannan. If you use points as a basis say Dogs have pick 30 next year that we get 629 points, take off the 217 points we gave them as overs it will work out to be equal to pick 41 in next years draft. Pick 41 is about right trade for Hannan. It enables the dogs to get closer to the 2400 points they need. They are a mile off having enough points to cover the bid, as it stands now they only have 1773 points, they need to get more picks in, you don't really want your first round next year being effected unless they have a F/S pick next year.
  8. The dogs will need about 2400 points, to cover the bid. There current first pick is about 1150 points, if we can get a mid 30s pick for Preuss, plus our pick 25 we could offer these and hannan for dogs first round and future third round. Offer north this future 3rd round for Brown
  9. Be interesting how this trade plays out. Bulldogs are getting a player that Adelaide should bid on for pick 1. I cant remember the discount you get for nga bids. It would be great to find a way to bundle up Hannan with some picks and go after bulldogs first round pick
  10. So he is done as a KPF were he creates the run and a defender follows, but move him back to man someone up and be reactive to their movement. If his body is like you say, he will get absolutely carved up playing back and there will be a good chance May will punch him. Don't forget he was moved forward because his form down back was extremely poor and he was going to be dropped. Trade him or get him as good as he can get and let him fight for a KPF spot.
  11. Shouldn't this be a trade Geelong should do
  12. Agree, if he stays at MFC forget a different role he is in a battle with Weiderman/Brown/Brown/Jackson for a KPF slot each week. I do think though if Tom stays M Brown will be gone. We want that, for to long we have handed players who are in poor form games.
  13. Isn't the reason we drafted Jackson was that he was a ruck like Grundy only better mobility. He isn't ready to take the No1 mantle for a couple of years but he will be primed when either Max or Nik Nat retire.
  14. I think that might be a pretty much the same response we will get from all clubs. Tom has been poor for 2 seasons, someone might take him as a fire sale but certainly not a priority for any club
  15. No, if Tom stays he has to accept there is competition for his spot up forward and needs to get back to his best form to gain his spot. The club needs that internal pressure for positions, Tom needs to accept the challenge and win his spot up forward.
  16. I don't know what people are expecting with the trade period. We have limited draft picks in 2020 to use for trades, the players we have up for trade are 3rd and 4th round picks, we might get a late second for Preuss. Most likely we will need to trade our first draft pick 25 at the moment(this will become a early 30's pick) to North for Brown. I would rather us keep our 2021 picks, this draft has so many uncertainties with Covid and the NGA bids. Hopefully we can get 3 picks in that 30-50 range or better, plus Brown, keep our 2021 picks, offload Tmac/Omac/Hannan/ANB/Preuss. I can see us being involved in pick trading to improve our draft position. Like most would love another small forward, a wingman but as mentioned we don't really have a lot to offer up. We might need to work hard at improving who we have draft 3 more players in plus the key forward.
  17. It is up to Clarry and players to lift their performance. No question our biggest issue is our skill execution, starting with the fundamental skill kicking. If we can't improve our teams kicking we will struggle to successfully implement any game plan.
  18. Something to consider, Treloar makes our midfield better, Pies need a tall forward. It would make sense for Treloar and Tmac trade, both big wages it might cost us a pick as well 3rd rounder or something. Both clubs seem to be pretty keen to trade the players out. Treloar also gives us enough depth if Oliver does leave at end of next year.
  19. I reckon that pick is overs for him, something early 30's is his range, hopefully the pick we get for Preuss will be the Pick 30 GWS received for free agent and we on trade that.
  20. Getting caught doing Drugs has hurt.
  21. He came from Fremantle and WCE don't really have much to trade with
  22. Really, 900K a year for Williams is massive overs would have thought 550-650 tops. Is it front loaded or 900K each year for the contract.
  23. I reckon end of first round for Williams which could push into the mid 20s. Understand what you are saying but as some stage they need to do something. If they match Carlton's bid take their first round pick means Carlton won't get Saad, they just need to make clubs aware that they just won't let players go
  24. Would love to see GWS play hard ball with Williams and Cameron. At some stage they need to stand up to clubs and players to make it hard for them to leave. Match the offers, go after Carlton's first round pick it will be 14 or 15 picks higher than what they will receive from for Free agency, get 2 first rounders and a player from Geelong. GWS premiership window is shut, time to start to build a side, they have some talented players that still have a lot of football left, get the right players in through trading and the draft they can rebound pretty quickly.
  25. Yep, using the system to suit your club, we can't complain though we received overs for Frawley
