Farewell Sam Weideman
Went to Werribee, Weid was ok, only dropped 1 mark in the first qtr that was a easy mark. His timing was off seemed to either jump to early or late. Also a number of times he tried to body a defender rather than jump at the ball. Wasn't a dominant game but did ok

CHANGES: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
I think Melksham for Harmes, can play the same role but with a better skill set. Agree on comments about Bowey, unless we rest or one of Rivers/Hunt/Salem is injured we isn't getting a run in our backline. I think Smith is the back up defender for Hibberd/Petty/May/Lever.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
The first bounce Gawn hit the ball forward about 10m, to me that showed our intent to be positive from the start. No flick over the head handballs, it was everything we needed to do to get the win. Hats off to Mark Williams, the development of our young players is the best it has been at the club. Petty and Jordon last night were outstanding, we know what Pickett, Rivers, Jackson can do. Spargo has an amazing footy IQ, would love for him to get a run through middle at some stage. The back 6 are just one complete unit, the 7 blokes that play back there May, Lever, Petty, Hibberd, Salem, Hunt, Rivers are the best backline in the AFL. We need to put away Hawthorn and Gold Coast cement our top 4 spot. I like that we will play 3 top 8 sides in the lead up to finals

GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
I still don't get this, "Goodwin to Motivate players" line, they are professional athletes you should be self motivated to do what you have trained to do. The day of the coach big inspiring pre-match speech is gone, every player will have their own routine, some it is Music others is getting the ball in your hand, a coach speech before a game doesn't set the tone for the game, it is up to the players. The first 5 minutes our leaders, Gawn/Viney with Oliver and Petracca need to set the tone for the game, get that ball deep inside our 50m arc and score early, we want to dominate the game from the first bounce like we did against the Bulldogs, then struggle the life out of Port.

Sorry doesn't our first centre bounce usually have the Captain, VC, Oliver and Petracca, these are the guys that set the tone. There is a good 5-10minutes from the time the team runs out till the bounce, these 4 guys are responsible, Goody can't win the footy for them.

TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Agree with this, great adding a forward but what are we doing to improve the delivery into the forward line and this, clearances.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
No he isn't but he is in form and playing well at Casey, also can kick the football doesn't miss to often.

What To Do With Jack Viney
To me it was am extremely poor to select Jack with out a couple of games at Casey. The Midfield was fine with out him, he should have built up touch and match fitness at Casey.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
We are back to poor ball movement and skills. We all know as soon as we start to see players use the blind flick hand ball we are in trouble. Usually starts with Oliver and Petracca then spreads to the rest of the team. Unless we can sort out or clearances and skills we will struggle, it won't matter who plays forward. I agree though we need Brown in this week just for a different forward dynamic, but we need players that can hit him on a lead.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
This spot on, you win the clearances you get to chance to set up your defence high, press to keep the ball in your forward half. You lose the clearance the opposition gets to do this so your forwards need to push up to be the option out of the backline. I don't know why a team with a dominate ruckman nearly always sets up for a defensive tap, once you hit the ball backwards like Max does most of the time, if you dont get clean ball it opens up for the opposition, also no idea why in defensive 50m arc you hit goal side.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Should have kicked more, has missed a few that he should have kicked. I also think he is high up the ground as our ball movement has been very stagnate over the past month, we don't seem to have that run and dare that we had V Bne and dogs.

CHANGES: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
You can't have BB, Weid, Tmac, Jackson, Gawn in the same side. TMac is our best forward at the moment, Fritsch is kicking goals but not much else, Jackson has chipped in with some goals but looks better in the ruck. Our No 1 issue is the quality of ball going into our forward line as a forward I bet you look up and Salem with the ball you lead with confidence, not to many other players that you have a great deal of confidence that they will hit you. Bring in our Tall forward BB and our best ball users Melksham and Bowey(he is ready). Out take your pick Viney/Sparrow/Hunt/Harmes/Brayshaw, love to see a brave call from the coaching panel drop Viney/Harmes/Brayshaw

AFLW Off-season List changes
You have a window next year to win a flag before the AFL stuffs the competition by introducing more teams.

Sideways kicks
Yep 35m out on a 45degree angle on the right side of the ground, drop punt for sure, especially Tom he has a great set shot, terrible kick in General play but great set shot.

Umpire Margetts is a bit of a bad-luck charm for Dees
I think most supporters see him walk out on the ground and cringed a bit. He has done well to remain at this level for the time he has.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Your comment highlights your complete lack of understanding of the game. We have a midfield that can't kick, struggle to win a clearance and make poor decisions. Our mids are all the same player type Oliver, Viney, Brayshaw, Jordan, Sparrow, Harmes there is no smarts in there just grunt. Our forwards didn't get a chance today as our mids were completely smashed.

Club culture, we are a brittle club that get so far ahead of ourselves. We have achieved nothing, stop accepting mediocrity.

When you play selfish football you lose. We have lost that team first do what ever it takes attitude. It wasn't a cracking game it was garbage. We need a high quality mid

GAMEDAY: Rd 16 vs GWS
Yep, that is why his only spot is a defensive midfielder. Needs a run with role.
