What is the right price a third or fourth round pick that is all you would get for him with his age and recent injuries

The trade Jack Viney thread
OK, you are slamming him, his past/current coaches which includes his dad for not taking him down a peg or two. That Viney will read The Age best players and think I was awesome today, you don't think that his current coaches will review his turnovers and highlight them.

Lets revisit this at seasons end, I'm happy to be proved wrong but I think we need to add at least 1 good ball user into our midfield group to complement what we have, an Andrew Gaff type of player would have a field day playing in our side, let our bulls win the footy and just be outside to finish off their hard work.

That post is pure garbage. Yep he didn't deserve to be named in the best over the weekend, everyone has a differing opinion on who deserves best players, look at to Votes post on this site to see that. Viney on the weekend didn't butcher the ball any worse that Brayshaw and Oliver, it is just that the couple of clean centre clearances he had he absolutely butchered it. As I keep posting, Viney is a part of a midfield group that collectively have poor disposal and decision making skills. When the pressure goes on so does the selfish metre rises for a few of our mids, they think they are doing the right thing to turn the game back on our terms but it is actually the opposite, Oliver and Petracca are also very guilty of this. I do agree though we need to look at trading out one of our mids at seasons end if the right deal or player was offered. We need to add a highly skilled mid into our group. To me Brayshaw has the most value maybe a trade to Fremantle for Cerra

Being a forward in our side when we play poorly is a nightmare because we over use the ball, we use the flick handball and we handball to much. Jason Dunstall played in a different era same as Lockett, it was one on one Football and the game was based around kicking the ball. Now it is about protecting space extra numbers down back, forwards pushing to the contest and keeping possession of the footy by hand until either you get clear for a kick, pressured and you are forced down the line or turn the footy over. Back in 80s and 90s you never saw the kick to handball ratio we see now, it would be 1 handball to every 2-3 kicks.

2004 boys, time to read the Riot Act.
It isn't putting the burden onto them, the burden of failure is on us the supporters. What my post was highlighting was you have a window of opportunity to be successful, don't waste it as it all could be over very quickly. Does the modern day player care about this, they get the same pay cheque win lose or draw, a premiership is more for the supporters.

I think it is more about making the most of the opportunity you have. We are on top of the ladder, 2 and a half games clear of 5th, there is an opportunity to give yourself every chance to play off in a GF. Also how quickly it can all turn, 2 years later the 2004 playing group was done we dropped off the cliff in 2007 and have been struggling to climb that cliff for the past 14 years. We are in great position, take the challenge and don't look back with regrets of what could have been. What can be is a double chance that gives you the best opportunity to play off in a GF.

Imagine being Ben Brown a leading key forward looks up to see Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw, Langdon, Harmes, AVB, ANB and Petracca kicking the ball to him, you have no idea where that ball will go. The only Time you lead with confidence is if Salam or Spargo are kicking the footy to you

Don't know about that Oliver and Brayshaw are terrible kicks. The bottom line is with in our midfield group we dont have anyone that can kick the ball and hit a target consistently. We jump all over our forward line but the delivery in there isn't good
-
The trade Jack Viney thread
If we had that Stance we wouldn't have a midfield, Oliver, brayshaw, Langdon are terrible kicks, Petracca is hot and cold. That is the issue we have an entire midfield group that struggle to hit target by foot.

CHANGES: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Out Jackson, ANB, AVB In Melksham, Bedford, Bowey I think we are 1 tall to heavy up forward for Darwin, Tmac to be back up ruck. Need to change our small forward mix and bring in players who can kick, Melksham and Bowey are both good kicks. It might even be put Rivers as Sub and bring on Sparrow for balance

The issue isn't Jack, it is our entire midfield group, none of them are good kicks. We need some class in there

CHANGES: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Agree with this, we need a forward ruck not a ruck forward

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
No he is resigned to the fact that we are mentally weak as a club, have been for 50 odd years. We should be undefeated, the only reason We aren't is because we thing we have acheived something, guess what we are the worst performed club for 50 years.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
We can't win the flag because we have to many players that can't kick. Our midfield is good at getting the footy terrible at kicking it. The worse thing is most of us went into this game expecting this.
-
My 3 word player analysis V Hawthorn
Just can't kick
-
POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
Stock standard, we are weak between the ears, you just can't argue that
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
Now panicked settle in, a game we controlled we now are in trouble of losing
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
We are playing like Millionaire footballers but wehave acheived nothing
-
GAMEDAY: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
If we could kick we would be 10 goals up.

Mac Andrew
NGA system had massive issues from the start, it was only brought in to shut up Eddie and Co. No idea on this kid, raw with potential from what you read some will have him top 20 others from 20-40 range. The club really needs to spend time developing potential Father Son/Daughters, there is no incentive to have a NGA with the new rules unless you are a club in NSW and QLD

COVID & AFL 2021
Lets Fly Melb and Hawthorn to Alice Springs today, spend 2 weeks in the NT and hopefully we can get on top of this in Victoria.

COVID & AFL 2021
We are heading for a lockdown, there will be no crowds this weekend the government needs to slow this spread. In WA someone was sent to jail for 7 months for breaking quarantine rules, we need to hold these removalists to account, make an example of people who break the rules.

Toby Bedford
What a great position for the club to be in, giving players time to develop rather that throwing them to the wolves to early. I like the looks of Bedford and I think another pre-season will do him wonders. I see him playing the ANB role, playing forward but pushing up the ground to be an additional mid, then pushing forward.

How do Bulldogs do it?
The bulldogs are a bit touched at the moment, not only did they get the No 1 pick in the draft for basically a couple of second round picks, they also have a Father/Son Luke Darcy kid that looks like he will slot nicely into a future forward line, again they will get him for unders.
