  1. Because he competes every time he plays. The desire and effort to will yourself to a contest and to keep contesting is something that Neeld is looking and Spencil continues to show this. Yes he is a gumby but the second efforts he puts in and the willingness to keep chasing is something we have lacked in recent times and I for one am happy he was re-signed.
  2. I think that is a good point if Sydney did draft him for the $1m per year contract the so called "Bloods" culture will be a sham. If and when this occurs it will be interesting to see how Paul Roos and to some extent Gerard Healy try and spin this. I know I will be emailing "On The Couch" next year if he did end up at Sydney. lol
  3. Frawley Tom Mc D Nicholson Garland Watts
  4. Found article relating to this so guess its true as Player Manager was quoted in article and was spruiking his skills. Another Article says Lucas Cook will not be re-signed but its written by Jay Clarke so would require verification lol.
  5. 50 Sheahan, Jai ® - apparently delisted Is this fact or rumour?
  6. I don't think Gysberts will go anywhere now that the Cats have lost interest. Unless MFC are offered a late first round or early 2nd round pick and most clubs will consider that too much to pay. Also the list are going to be tight for space in every club as always.
  7. This type of post frustrates me as J Riv is an unrestricted free agent and he made the choice to leave for better opportunities. On another note: Good luck Rivers thank you for your service to the MFC and I hope his future with Geelong is successful.
  8. The topic was not that interesting to begin but what it has morphed into is down right coma inducing. In regards to the topic: I personally refuse to speculate in a negative way as it is a waste of emotional energy. Whether Mitch recovers from the injury will be seen within the next 6 months why borrow trouble by prognosticating dire outcomes.
  9. I was born in QLD and played Rugby League and Rugby Union as a kid, when I moved to NT I was introduced to AFL as the playing seasons for each code are opposite each other it was easy to Be ablet to enjoy the different codes. When I was living in Darwin I supported the local NTFL teams in particular Darwin Buffaloes and this was sufficient for me. In 1997 I moved to Perth and thought it was time to choose an AFL team as it was the dominant code in WA. Like Skills I am an underdog man and when Melbourne secured the wooden spoon in 1997 I thought they were the side for me. I have never looked back or wavered of my support for the Dees and I will never change my allegiance because once I have made up my mind that's it. I am really stubborn I know but I think supporting a team is basically a very easy choice either you do or you don't. No matter what happens I will always find it easy to say I do because as much as there are hard times the joy of the good times will be that much sweeter when they come because of this pain.
  10. The Groundhog has emerged on a Cloudy Day this Groundhog Day
  11. lol was he really or are you taking the pi$$?
  12. Worth a look I think been in the system 5 years now I would also consider Ben Warren as they both have experience at AFL level. Been part of numerous AFL pre-seasons will have the hunger to perform to get games at the AFL level.
  13. My point is you are not professional sportsman who has manager to deal with the intricacies of contracts and AFL Club Football departments. You can not compare your personal experiences in the labour market with Moloney as they are poles apart. Brisbane would not begrudge a seasoned AFL player a bit of a break as they will trust that he is staying fit over the break and continuing to maintain fitness on some level. The fact that you would not or could not enjoy Las Vegas is irrelevant and a value call which has as much weight in a debate as the fact that I like cup of tea in the morning.

  15. Player managers are hardly a recruitment agency they are managers who are hired by you to look after your interests. It's a professional sportsperson hiring a professional sports manager not a bloke lining up at a Centrelink Office looking for a job. If this is a hard concept to grasp then I will type slower just for you. And yes if I was Moloney I would be taking a break from football and relax.
  16. He is doing something, he is making his manager earn the the money he pays him to get a deal. If you pay a person to look after your interests and ensure you get a good deal then you leave them to work there butt of to make it happen. He is currently on what would be equivalent to annual leave for us plebs. I would enjoy the break and leave the rest to my manager if he doesn't come through he doesn't get paid.
  17. The Win Loss record shows we have had a poor year but the way the boys improved in their effort and intensity as the season progressed is what I wanted to see. I saw signs of a Football style that builds resiliency to pressure and returns or exerts pressure back on to teams where previously we shut up shop. Players continued to work hard and get the concept that they need to work with each other and for each other. Those little steps are the first in a very long, slow and meticulous return to form and better performances. FWIW I think MFC had shot itself in the foot a few seasons back but its taken us this long to get off the crutches.
  18. Like all the boys if he does what's expected of him over the pre-season (i.e. the program laid out for them by Misson) it will be interesting to see how this effects his performance next season. A leaner Davey with a bigger tank may surprise. If he doesn't he will probably spend all of 2013 in the VFL.
  19. Carlton advised today on SEN that this was total rubbish. Greg Swann was the one who stated that it was untrue.
  20. Little confused with this post, am trying to work out what point the author is trying to make is any or whether they cut and paste a Cryptic Crossword clue from the local rag. Oh and BTW Jack will be playing for melbourne next year is what I heard from the interview.
  21. WTF has this got do with whether or not Sharrod Wellingham is an option for possible pick up for the MFC. So the way he looks off the field is a obviously a really good way of judging someone's football ability and whether he is a good mix for our team. Also he can live with whomever he choose to. I lived with other male friends up until I met my partner and started having children and then moved into my own house, how is this any different. The amount of money he makes is irrelevant, in fact if he wants to remain an Millionaire best thing to do would be save cost of living by sharing a house with someone.
  22. So true! Therefore it stands to reason that... ...one bad game doesnt make you a bad player!
  23. Tuck is no longer available signed a 1 year deal AFL Website
  24. Great video loved the reminder of the Goal that Clint Bartram kicked early in the season.
  25. News of Jay Van Berlo being delisted from Fremantle. Would he be a fit for MFC? AFL Website
