  1. The Club rates him also AFL Website maybe worth a look. Pretty sure the recruiters will do there due diligence.
  2. I reckon don't trade him and if he becomes available in the draft may be worth a late round pick.
  3. The number of scenarios laid out in this thread are very interesting to read. From my point of view I see three clubs who all will be sitting back and making a decision on what would be best for them. I don't think GC and GWS would have the mentality of how can I stop MFC from getting so many 1st Rounders in the draft. They would be considering which players do we need to bring to our club for our continued development. Their needs would be first most in their minds because if an AFL club starts trying to worry about what others are doing and try and limit them via draft then to me that is foolish and unprofessional as it is trying to control something that they can not do. I think as other have alluded to MFC will await the positions taken by GWS and GC on 5th October 2012 and decide what to do from there. They may have a couple of options worked out but until they start the F/S Nomination process it all up in the air. The questions I would be asking is 1. What do GWS lack in regards their current list. Do they need another Inside Midfielder or are they looking to fill other gaps? 2. What do GC lack in regards their current list. Do they need another Inside Midfielder or are they looking to fill other gaps? If the answer is yes to either of these then they would need to consider the best available player and if it comes out J Viney is that person then they may bid. I don't see GWS or GC as they both a number of developing midfielders who will get better and better they will be looking to get some older senior players to assist with their core young groups. If they do call, then I would take JV regardless because he is exactly what we need in our team and would slot into our midfield very easily.
  4. Do you reckon ths thread will get to 666 posts before its locked?
  5. Exactly WYL still haven't heard that he is gone. The only factual thing that has been said is that he is a free agent and he will be testing the waters. Which is what all OOC and free agents would do as par for course.
  6. I guess what I am trying to ask is what would people think would be the deal to get Wellingham to MFC. Money picks whatever. I was thinking pick 13 would sweeten it for the Pies and $500K sounds good for player. As he is OOC if we offer him a good money deal and offer the Pies pick 13 would that be plausible. I am really not sure as I don't have a handle on what happens with OOC players can they be approached by other clubs? or is that only the Free Agents? Can you only trade Out of contract players for picks or other players between clubs? Sorry if that is not any clearer but the introduction of Free Agency has added to my overall confusion this year in regards to trades and the draft.
  7. Sharrod Wellingham is still OOC which I understand may only mean that the Pies are waiting till Cloke decides what he is doing, before they finalise all their OOC players. But if Cloke re-signs, and there is an opportunity to get Sharrod to the Dee's. What do you think would be a fair offer?
  8. Is it not Jack Viney a Son?
  9. I reckon that's where we differ DemonWA, I am happy with the way the coach is taking this team and I would prefer development of our list into a team of ruthless winners for a sustained period rather then a short term positive win-loss record. But each to their own I guess.
  10. Not sure if others have pointed out but in the interview with Neeld (Part 3 right at the end) He is asked what is it that excites him about the prospects of getting this Club up the ladder and he says "What we're trying to do...where trying to get a club that one has a ruthless winning culture and have players within the place that have a game styles that stands up in finals and be there for a period of time" and thats the type of club I want to see us as.
  11. Decision to take these players in the draft aside, the fact that the club was training at a lower standard then the elite clubs, and did not have that culture of rewarding hard work and playing the role and structures set out by the coaches did not help the development of either Cook & Gysberts as AFL Footballers. The change of focus by Neeld, Craig & Misson to set standards that will give players the ability to mix it with the Big Boys in the league means that if either of these boys buy in and work hard to what the Football department expects of them they will start developing into quality players they were drafted for. If either of these players think that they will get it easier in other clubs then they are in with a chance to remain as above average VFL players.
  12. 84 Actually and How is the above scenario equate a to Straight Trade - Jacobs for Jurrah I hope he plays again also but I doubt Liam will be playing for any AFL side next year even if he wins his court case. He has other priorities he will need to deal with before he can concentrate on Football. I hope when he does get it sorted he comes back to Melbourne.
  13. SEN Podcast found on SEN Website links below Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
  14. If he is RFA then we could offer him good money and offer Martin to seal it for the pies. Don't know if thats a possibility, but I am sure others will know here on D'land.
  15. Brings to mind the Classic Simpson Halloween special (based on The Shining) which in this instance would go..... No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY, No Cook and No Gysbert makes Homer GO CRAZY.
  16. I may have missed something as I can not be bothered scrolling through the replies but other then 7 news is their a second source to this story? Or is it still a rumour?
  17. Martin for Wellingham
  18. It will be interesting to see if this pre-season those who didn't last year will do so this year. Neeld, Craig and Misson will surely separate the wheat from the chaff. What Gysberts ends up being will be up to him.
  19. Dont you mean Bus as in Reality Bus..
  20. No Leverage means we have no leverage, MFC have not renewed his contract or discussed renewal until after March 2013. We can not offer something we do not have. To renew his contract we need his agreement and he has stated he can not commit until after March 2013. After the court case then we can deal but before that we can not offer his services so we have nothing nadda, zilch, zero. Port would have to agree to give up their player Jacobs now for the possibility that if everything comes out okay in court and if Jurrah wants to continue to play AFL that they can have him sometime in March - April 2013. An offer that I am sure they would jump at, they would be mad to not do it. Yes we can put an offer to Jacobs and Port but we can not use Jurrah as leverage or bait. I don't understand how I (and numerous others) can make it any clearer for you.
  21. Isn't he OOC. So trade may not be on the table.
  22. I am confused also as Port can just pick him up next year anyway and we have no leverage to force them to do anything. If we wanted Jacobs we would have to trade or do a deal. Jurrah does not come into it at all.
  23. They may have but I believe clubs had to nominate early in the year (March I think) to activate their compo pick for the draft later in the year. They have until 2014 to use the pick if it was from a GC Suns recruitment from memory.
  24. I see the poll numbers suggest that Nathan Jones should not be the Captain in 2013. Whether the OP accept the results remains to seen.
