Great film Pates, but it became a bit of a Horror story when I realised the Pies Fan was married and had a child, I wonder if he grows up to be prestigious and above the law lol.

Giving Children an education is a waste of time lets just continue keep them dumb and not let them have a future although we may need to keep giving them handouts but your okay with that right. Christopher Skase, Allan Bond, HIH, Pratt, Vizard, I share the country with ppl of that ilk, I've seen their culture first hand and I don't want a bar of it too. Thanks for the 200 years of handout there Barndee maybe one day you will actually study the history of the country you live in and get a clue.

Funny coincidence Jade Rawlings was the opposition Coach in the Richmond Game lol.

Phew what a long read... So any news from the AFL about penalties for the club? Or are we still in limbo?

Classic reply that was, that's up there with "I know you are but what am I? Anyway's... Flash will end up as a one club player at the MFC and he has been a valuable servant to the club. He has played 158 games and kicked 159 goals but obviously that means nothing to some. I wish him well after this year as I am sure he will hang up the boots seasons end. Lets hope he can go out with a bang. Oh and I hope his sons turn out to be champion footballers who we can pick up under the father and son for 2nd and 3rd round picks.

The end of 'bruise free' football at the MFC
felixdacat replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
IMO there is evidence that we are on our way towards being the toughest team to play against, as the last season unfolded if you look at the intensity and endeavour of the team each round it improved. There were patches of intensity during each game when we had the measure of our opponents which they had no answer for. Later in the season the ability to continue grinding out a game when challenged was there just not consistently for the 4 quarters and not enough to maintain scoreboard pressure.Quite frankly our fitness let us down and the ability to maintain that type of pressure needs an (dare I say it) Elite fitness. In regards to bruise free football I did not see any evidence of shirking a contest or only running hard in attack yes we did not win games but you wouldn't or couldn't say that in 2012 we played bruise free football. IMO not winning games is a separate issue that does not relate to declaring the end of bruise free football....FWIW! -
Romanticism and History aside this now makes the number 31 jumper more lucrative to sell. As I am sure sales in the number 31 declined after HWFUA pulled it on. So all round good move by the club now all we need is on field success.

I used to think that CW was a good Journo but her standards have slipped and now she has been reduced to the lowest order of "If it bleeds it leads" type of Journalism which is just the last gasp in hope of Media outlets searching for relevance in a AFL Media saturated market. Whether CW finds her Mojo or continues to decline remains to be seen. Until then I will take anything she has to say with a grain of salt. and maybe a slice of lemon and shot of tequila.

Thanks to all posters, this has been a really great training thread and I am enjoying the reports from those who could make it. I am especially loving that the posts are about training and not being diverted. -

New Year's resolution for Demonland posters

I resolve to ensure that the first song that my newborn son (after 4 daughters) will hear will be the Melbourne Club song and that I will make it mandatory that he watches every game with me in the new season. -
Sadly this will now come down to Ego's the gauntlet has been slammed down by MFC (which I love btw) and the commission will now have to react. Will they fight or flight? The Commission will meet and discuss its next move. Some Commisioners may heed advice from their advisors and consultants that this may be a battle that is laden with risk of not getting a result other then costing a crap load of legal fees. Other Commisioners may want to ignore all of this and risk it to make an example of what happens when you challenge the AFL's power. As this situation is not life and death, the reaction to the news that the MFC have lawyered up will ultimately rest upon Ego's of the AFL Commission and how they individually and collectively react to being challenged by the Dee's. My wish is that sanity prevails and the risks of a prolonged court battle is enough to let this drop. But if it doesn't all I can say is that "It's On Like Donkey Kong"

Beat me to it Bitter i reckon it is always worth a punt and our fixture is not bad also this year with more games versus the new franchises. But please the rest of you D'Landers don't start betting or you might ruin the odds. lol

Dean Bailey tells the AFL he didn't order players to lose
felixdacat replied to Alf Stewart's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the club should just leave things alone especially once the claims are not proven, why bother, if CS & CC want to take issue with her then they should. -
IMO I don't think Neeld's game is Defensive more that our players lacked the ability and fitness to bring defensive pressure to bare on opposition players. This past year has been about fitness and the structures and ability to shutdown oppositions. Once this is achieved the Attacking structures need to be developed to put scoreboard pressure on. That is why having a couple of options up forward next season was important for us to draft. More so IMO then midfielders.

My take is that if they (AFL) had the smoking gun then we would be gone. Its all well and good for the Journo's to be talking about the Vault and an alleged meeting where some stuff was said but the point is the AFL will have to prove it, and be sure that their proof is rock solid because MFC will contest. It will come down to one version of events against another and unless there is written or recorded minutes/notes it will be a stalemate.

Funny I was saying that same thing two weeks ago after the Rules Changes were announced by the AFL KB was having the biggest dummy spit on his show on SEN. He puts my 3 year old daughter to shame the way he was carrying on about how they didn't implement all the suggestions from him and the rules committee. In the end I turned it off because that's what I do with my children leave them whining to an empty room. Ed: Added space

I like his plan also I think that the players that we had in the team needed to reminded that if you do not perform and play the way the coach wants then you will not be on the list. Right now every player on the list has a clear understanding that if you do not do what is required by the Football Department you will be playing in the VFL and that at the EOY you may be delisted. Will this translate to better performances next year? IMO I think it will, either way bring on 2013 already.

But I guess the difference is that they were not recruited and scouted by an AFL team. If they were any good they would be on an AFL List. Spencer has played a handful of games the time he has not been in the side he has trained hard bulked up and continued to work on the track. This is the type of desire and attitude (and the discipline) that we don't see that warrants his signature on another 2 year contract.

Are any of those lads down the local park 203cm and 100kgs?

One season as Head Coach and you expected....what exactly? Certainly not instant success our team may have a lot of high draft pick but that will not guarantee success. In one season you say we have no proof that Neeld is a Good coach with a Good Plan. Then equally after one season we have no proof that Neeld is a Bad Coach with a Bad Plan.
