Symptomatic. Dunn gets a game because we a slop.

What's a "figured head"? Someone who used to be good at maths?

How's that coaching handover working out for you, Eddie?

I'd prefer a club full of RAY DAVIES.
-
Must be the last year of his contract.

Did the introduction of the expansion sides spook our footy department?

I started fearing Melbourne would become an EPL-style feeder club when Scotty Thompson left. It is impossible to build towards a flag if, every year, you lose one of the building blocks to the power sides.

21-1 at half time, then 23-1 just after half time.

Paterson's Curse is the umpiring of away teams at Subiaco.

What was the breakdown of Davey's numbers from the first half to the second half? He was free to roam up until the half and was dangerous across the ground, but after half time he was picked up and did not appear to have much effect. That has always been Davey's big problem - can't handle a tag and goes missing when he cops heat.

Point Kick ins and defence of kick ins
Tony Tea replied to Jumping Jack Clennett's topic in Melbourne Demons
Farcical Melbourne kick-in are a timeless Demon tradition. Was there ever a time when Melbourne had good kick-ins? -
Darbsy, clearly you are a novice teacher. Take a tip from this grizzled old veteran - students who bag your team must be punished, while students who barrack for your team get preferential treatment. Sorted.

Footy fact! In the history of Australian Rules football since 1858, Melbourne has twice as many smothered kicks as the rest of the VFL and AFL teams put together.

Worst umpiring performance of the year
Tony Tea replied to Return to Glory's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's not so much that West Coast in Perth get howlers in their favour - even though they do - it's that they get so many 50-50 frees in comparison with their opponents. Last night's frees to Shooey (who dived forward) and Selwood (who shrugged and took the tackle, and didn't deserve the free) were typical and in stark contrast to the free North did not get at the other end a couple of minutes earlier when a Toast player clearly flopped onto the back of a North player. Also, the commentators were very quick, too quick, to state that the free to Selwood was warranted and congratulated the umpire for paying the free when he was "unsighted". If he was unsighted, why was he giving a free? More likely the umpire, urged on by the crowd, anticipated the free and/or guessed it was high. Terrible umpiring. -
I agree with that. When the Cats have to they close it down and grind it out, like in the 2009 and 2011 grand finals.
-
What Scott is doing at Geelong is precisely what Bailey was trying to do at Melbourne - get players back, win the ball via turnover, hit them on the break. The difference is the cattle. The Cats have it, the Dees don't.

As I mentioned a few weeks ago - Craig is big on sports science, so it is hard to believe he would not be au fait with all the various sports science issues at Melbourne.

I'll give the caper away if the List Mangler is appointed coach.

I dream of being bored at the footy. It beats sheer hopeless desperation.

Tricky, you don't not need to brush up on your double negatives.

Hard to see how Neeld can survive if this match (it is half time) continues apace.
