  1. Great to see. Our Ashes are there for the taking next year.
  2. Whilst these are correct, it is also fact that our laziness was more evident in the complete lack of defensive pressure we applied on Geelong. Which was precisely my point. Which may of not been entirely 'the reason', as you say. But it stood out like "dog's balls"
  3. Id be happy with: - Watts (1) Zaharkis (17) Blease (19)
  4. Nugget, Nugget, Nugget - If Melbourne traded your list to be traded it would break the record for the most trades by a club in a single trade period. (Now listen for all those quickly doing a search on that stat)...
  5. Neita, careful mate you could get lynched by the mob who are about to read this post. Green is in a great position to win the Best & Fairest this season. I doubt they will look to trade him, don't you?
  6. Agree. Out of interest is that pick 19 - Callan Ward? Who is at the Bulldogs. Interesting coming from someone at Carlton. Blaa! Those Blues supporters are enjoying the success (if you can call it that - 9 wins) now courtesy of their failures including their salary cap breaches (how ironic)
  7. The football manager at the time, those in charge of list management. I also reckon Craig Cameron whilst he was the recruitment manager at the time, would have had some input but not the final 3 year deal decision.

    New CEO

Brian Cook nearly took the GC17 CEO challenge. He said he is looking for a new challenge (on SEN), and he was considering the move to the Gold Coast with his family. If you want the best, he's the man. It's up to Jim and the board to make an interesting and attractive package and offer, that is if they want the best CEO. I hope for all our sake, we get the best.
  9. Guy McKenna had been talked about in media circles for the last 4-5 weeks regarding GC17. What is more interesting is seeing the fallout continue over at the filth!
  10. Winning more games in the short term is not going to happen. J.Brown is a short term fix and would not automatically ensure winning more games either.
  11. Incorrect. Its not being harsh and unrealistic at all. It is a fact. He may have ran about 16km (including the warm ups and cool downs), but he's laziness was exposed, "in the complete lack of defensive pressure" as RR points out regarding the side as a whole. Again, Bate was lazy and most of the time he ball watched or watched in awe of Geelongs players. As John Kennedy famously quoted....."Do Something!, Don't think....Do!!!!!!!"
  12. We didnt get smashed we lost by about 4 or 5 goals. It was a comfortable win at best. Geelongs 116 point win last friday - that was an absolute smashing.

    Vote for PJ!

    Try it again.
  14. Exactly what I was thinking. Unusual to see a name like that as emergency. They must of been waiting to see if he come up from an injury. Even more unusual to see him named as emergency playing in Perth. The backline has had a face lift!
  15. "J.Brown would have to improve our window?" Not necessarily. For a guy who is 27 and struggles to walk for 2 days after a game and is playing injured. He is a massive and costly risk. We have problems all over the park, not just at FF. The midfield needs an injection of 'pace' and 'skill'. We need forward options and J.brown would be a 1 year fix in my opinion, not 5 year fix. Bringing in Brown may just be one way to "eat" into our cash and resources, not build for a premiership.
  16. And Melbourne 'could' become the capital of Australia.... <_<
  17. Agree I doubt Simmonds would have been better value than White. Whilst we didnt go hard for Meesen at 37. He was a fan of Craig Camerons - who missed out on him courtesy of the Adelaide Crows.
  18. Good work Maj, keep it up. Plenty buy Inside Football, it has all the stats you want.
  19. Sounds like someone talking from experience, perhaps? that and the baby bonus?
  20. He disappointed me last week and did very little. (as did alot of others). He gets caught out of position IMO, and can't take his marks on the lead. Usually I'm a fan of Bate's but on last week IMO he disappointed me.

    New CEO

'Mo' is right 'why you little', I saw that Footy Show with David Gallop, and the Storm is a concern for the NRL.
  22. Very Very Very unlikely. My tip for the Brownlow - (I will get in early) is Joel Selwood.
  23. I can't see J.Brown getting through to the PSD. ANd yes it is all hypothetical, I expect him to sign to Brisbane soon.
  24. Needs to produce at 23-24 'Old" Col....
  25. You said a 'mental rest' initially. I never knew playing footy could be so stressful! Fracture.....what else can go wrong?! Based on Baileys statements during the season, that you will be picked on form. Well Yze should get selected based on last weeks very good game and by Bazza's report on another thread. Its also based on the 116point drubbing last Friday in the seniors. I'd like to see Spencer, but I'm not sure he will be selected. PJ's out for the season, Jamar could be back and White just might find himself the luckiest man alive! Petterd could get a run. Disagree with your OUTS. Agree. My Ins are: - MILLER, GARLAND (if fit), YZE, JAMAR. OUTS: - CARROLL, PJ(inj), WONNA (inj?), BATE
