Didn't Paul McNamee announce the J.Brown approach upon his sacking, directly to the media?
-
Mid week ski passes - good idea, not that I go. There should be a clause that to receive the discounted deal you must attend the games prior and post ski trip. In all seriousness, is ING sponsoring anyone in AFL? There is a potential great sponsor for the club IMO.

Meesen is out of sorts. So who would you play? Jamar and White? Or White and Meesen? Or Jamar and Meesen? Or White and Weetra?

Don't forget when assessing Waldron's "form", you have to take into account that the Storm are backed by News Ltd. They are still not standing on their own two feet. 10 years they have been in the competition. They have played in their last two grand finals, they are a one team town and have just on 10,000 members. And that number has not increased significantly in that last two years. Whilst the Storm players might be happy, do you think the NRL are happy with the clubs and Waldron's progress? He may sound alright on SEN on Friday's with KB, and he may seem he doesn't pull any punches, but being CEO of the Melbournefc is a whole new ball game when you don't have the financial backing like the Storm does with News Ltd.

I am also interested in Spencer. Meesen is languishing in his 4th season, although he is contracted until 2010. If Jamar is fit and ready. Jamar should be in, White out.

Very interesting. Hope Maric excels and lives up to his opinion.

To be sure, to be sure. There will be more to come. It's a tough ask to wipe off all $5Million, but Debt Demolition was all about significantly reducing the debt. It's a great effort already with still half a month to go.

This one won't make the cd collection for the car............
-
Yes, but he doesn't mince words. But Corcoran wasn't a former CEO of the AFL, which is what Redleg and Caro referred to in the opening post. Its hard to comprehend, but only Jimmy and the board have the answers on what the moved swiftly.
-
Yep. Even harder to attract when the AFL fixtures Melbourne mostly on Sundays.

Cats will win. But who really cares....

I agree, Spencer was in the best. He's pretty enthusiastic. Let's take a look at him.
-
The commentary was pretty ordinary on PJ's goal, then again so was the crowd reaction. By then most MFC supporters had left.

Wouldn't it be more along the lines of ..............that directly affected his capacity to ply his trade (hence earn)..... At the end of the day, Rules are Rules. And if the governing body which is the AFL in this instance, adopted those new rules and it satisfied the needs of the AFL players Association, Jeff hasn't got a leg to stand on.....so to speak.

Just for the record this was my point, "This must be pointed out, you can't wipe off a whole decade as simply soft.". And I agree with your reply and what is highlighted. I just want to be clear that in the last decade there has been some exciting footy played by the Dees at various times, and in those times we have been the envy of other clubs in the way we went about our footy at times. Ie 2000.

Good assessment. Time is ticking for him. Its only a matter of when and it could come straight after Round 22 - that is my tip now that Miller is gone. Iv'a she is just stating the obvious, Friday night was all of those quotes. "The current list is a long way behind anyone elses in the AFL." "Doesn't appear to be any future with this current playing list". She is right.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, but you missed my point. <_<

Thanks DemonDave for the stats, interesting comparison to '97. He did against St.Kilda on June 1st at the Telstra Dome. Brad Green hospital kicked (passed) it to a 3 on 1 contest in the centre of the ground. I was furious.

Through parts of 2004-06, Mfc were not soft. The first half of these seasons Melbourne earned back respect from playing tough uncompromising footy only to shoot themselves in the foot come the finish of those home and away seasons in losing the double chance before the finals and finishing in positions 6-8. This must be pointed out, you can't wipe off a whole decade as simply soft. For the record 1998, 2000 and 2002 the Demons weren't too bad either.

Junk time for us or for "them?" One of the biggest stuff ups was when Freo traded Andrew McLeod..... that was one big boo boo..... That was what 2004? or 2005? Over 3 years ago against the Bulldogs. That is the only time I can remember him floating forward and doing something significant. Wasn't it from a free kick thanks to Wade Skipper third man in from a ball up or stoppage? He didnt even take a mark then Iv'a....

40 goals is not unreasonable if he's playing Full Forward and he's the spearhead. What has the lowest total been over the last decade for our leading goalkicker and who has that record? Is it Robbo? No problem in aiming high, but Franklin is in the Stratosphere category. How many games would Robbo's "chunk" of next season be do you think? Until Round 4? 8?
-
A capacity of 30,000. What sort of time frame would you 'guesstimate' for that to happen? 10-15 years time?
-
Never. Well West Coast have got Hawthorn and Geelong to go..............that point difference could well and truly turn around very quickly. Quite right about us winning, I can't for the life of me see us beating Port at AAMI. For that matter Richmond in Rd22, but I was making a point, quite rightly, that the maths can add up with these results that I have stated.
-
This is all too hypothetical. They've had operations and are in rehabilitation aren't they? Robbo definitely can't. Neitz has retired. Miller is due back. McLean wouldn't be able to play, surely....Rivers wouldn't of been available I wouldn't of thought and Moloney I don't know. <_<
