The Run Home - Race for the spoon
PJ_12345 replied to red and blue forever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd say you're wrong on that. It will be interesting to see when the H&A season is finished. Take out Essendon as both coaches won by only a goal. That means the only team to be beaten which was not in the bottom 4 was Adelaide this year. -

Fremantle Geelong Port Adelaide Brisbane Hawthorn GWS West Coast North Melbourne I can't see us wining any of these and if that happens then Roos will end the season with the same amount of wins as Neeld had in his first year. -
Not letting the facts get in they way of a good story... there's another ol' Demonland special Garland did have an injury interrupted pre-season, in what was a silly decision not to have his operation immediately after last year's season, particularly when it was known he was carrying that issue for a while. Whilst his return has been in poor form, and rusty, Garland is a good player.

Maybe the best example of humble pie would be if someone could, or have posted, if his name could be spelt correctly...

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
PJ_12345 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ahhh those chain emails... they'll get you 'Send this email on to 10 of your friends or you wont get an ASADA deal!' Clearly The Weapon dropped the ball and only sent it to 9! -
At the same time Vince, Salem, Tyson and JKH were all worth it. It will be interesting to see how he goes. There is always the ability to get him later...

Don't get me wrong. He is a good player, but he isn't a champion, at this stage, and for that type of money you'd want someone who is. It baffles me when people keep calling him a champion. Have they seen any Adelaide game this season? Against Carlton with minutes left he plays on and snaps from a set shot 30m out, misses and they lost by 3 points!

Who are the best six kicks in our mighty team?
PJ_12345 replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm surprised to see Howe so highly rated. Surely last year he would have been the host smothered kick in the AFL, and his hospital kicks were a nightmare. Turned it around a bit this year but still I'd think there would be people slightly higher. Watts Salem Dunn Jetta Kent Vince -

Still in their Hall of Fame -
To be honest I think Salem's performance was more a reality check for Roos. Salem is good, but doesn't have the tank to last a whole game - not many first year players do, and Roos did say when Salem was drafted that it would be unlikely that he would play a game. I don't expect much more from him and I think everyone was getting a bit ahead of themselves with their expectations. Salem is good and will be great, but best left as a gun sub at the moment.

Is that for this year or in history?

When we: Get a friday game Other clubs' supporters look at our emblem in their fixture and think like I do most of the time: "[censored]' Other teams 'just want to stay competitive against us' Commentators rub out the constant negative messages and cheap shots etc

I tried to but it kept coming up with this... I think I must have the wrong Sandor -
Shouldn't the title just be 'Essendon Supporters'? I'm yet to meet a non-objectionable one...

Just watched the replay again. Re the first half... Jordie kept Stanton to 1 kick and 1 handball for the first 30 minutes Kents kick to Frawley was amazing Dawes sprinting out and covering when Essendon had the ball so Dunn can get back and defend was really impressive Even though they had a pretty poor first half it never felt like they were out of it. A weird confidence and also some risk taking (Dunn selling candy, Tmac running through) Great game!

Damian Barrett's anti MFC spin doctoring
PJ_12345 replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was just listening to Triple M where they were discussing the greatest players in each club - after what Carlton is doing as a part of their sesquicentenary. Someone raised up Melbourne and Barrett had to say "There are only probably 5 for Melbourne compared to 25 at Hawthorn" (this is coming from the same man who said Hodge would be in their top 10). Lucky Lyon piped in and named some of the greats including many pre-1964. What an insufferable little man. He is the type of person people emigrate to avoid. -

You'd think at this stage it would just be limited to former Essendon players: Monfries at Port Crameri at Bulldogs Gumbleton at Freo Focus will come later on the Trengove issue -

They have 10 days to respond and prove they did not take any banned substances. Pretty quick turnaround however I'm sure they all would have had their response planned a while ago -
Fair enough. You know where I stand too so nuff said
