  1. Not that he'd be a big out - but Tex's hit on Tuohy should be 2 weeks and therefore misses our game? He is lucky that he came back on, but had only eyes for the ball and still made high contact.
  2. Will be interesting to see how we play over the next few weeks off the back of this. These are must wins to play finals, and will importantly show how well Goodwin can manage his team, and how the leadership group and players execute it on game day. Hoping for a couple of team changes and some big results. Bring in the Frost. Go dees.
  3. Agreed on Oliver - but my point is, if he is gettinf tagged out of the game, then shouldnt Goodwin change his position? Bring him forward like Martin or Dangerfield. Petracca could easily be drawn into the mid and draw a defender out. Second point, you have to play finals. QB game it showed. We were too edgy and keen. We need a finals game for experience.
  4. I was there today. Gawn was unbelievable, and Viney single handledly willed us into the competition in the last quarter. I stand by my comments over the past couple of weeks - the team still doesnt feel right. OMac was slow, Petty doesnt seem ready yet, and the overall skills have taken a dive. I would have like to have seen Oliver and Petracca draw eachother and swap positions more. It could have been a good opportunity to bring the tagger foward and a defender in the mid. Instead, Oliver for the last quarter spent most of the time falling for a free at the bounce. In two minds at the moment. If we make finals and play like that, we will 100% be be beaten. But, we have to play finals for experience. Come on Dees.
  5. No thanks. I am a big fan, but the game had well and truely passed Garland towards the end.
  6. WCE/Essendon game was just as bad (if not worse) than ours. The AFL deliberately put 3 local umpires on to test the noise of affirmation, and the 16 differential affirms that there is a bias no matter if the umpires are a mix of local/interstate, purely interstate or purely local. Also, there were a lot missed frees for Essendon than reflrctive in that differential. The AFL need to pull the finger out and umpires need better training. Their inconsistency is having too much on an influence on the game.
  7. Out: Tmac (likely injured), Vince, ABN In: Frost, Garlett, Spargo
  8. Ben Holland's set shots will always be the benchmark for me!!
  9. Well, McDonald did play forward as a junior. As mentioned, I dont think the team is quite right. Wouldnt mind Goodwin playing around with a few options - particularly with an easier run coming. If bombing it in isnt working, possibly a smaller forward set up, with Hogan playing more in the middle. We certaintly have stock in that department.
  10. Couple of comments on reflection: - I dont think we have got the right team yet. Needed Spargo or Garlett for some forward pressure. - Fritsch is amazing and really look forward to him developing more. - Viney was commendable. - Umpiring was deplorable. - Lever out is a bigger loss than we all think.
  11. Skuit - there is only one intensity, and thats score board! Goaless for 30 minutes isnt good enough. We looked flat footed 5 minutes into the last. I liked Fritsch, and Hannan played well too. Where we lowered the eyes and found players we did well. All in all, we just werent good enough.
  12. We didnt kick a goal for the last 30 minutes. Dont see how we kept up with the intensity.
  13. Where to from here? Frost? Spargo? Honestly dont know if we've got it. Cant see us playing top 8, and if we do we will lose first time around. Why is Tyson still getting games?
  14. HB - obvious question, but do you know if it will be owned by the MFC? (I.e. not by the State Gov or AFL?)
  15. There goes my sleep tonight. Thanks mate - it took me 3 months to grt over that movie.
  16. Their window started and finished when they paid for an extra seat on their return flight for the cup, before they even played the game. I hope Tex is enjoying all the success which Lever left.
  17. Ive heard of some pretty full on corporate team building sessions. I had one two months ago with a smaller team. Whilst they are intrusive, it relies on everyone participating and overall I find its good for team building. However, if its not done correctly people will feel singled out and it will erode trust. Sounds like the latter may have happened here, but more seriously. Wouldnt surprise me - Adelaides culture seems shocking.
  18. Pressure from Hawthorn was great tonight. Structured well, 2nd efforts and had some serious pace. Polar opposite of us last week. Accuracy is the only thing holding their performance from being clinical.
  19. North Melbourne has been doing it for some time...
  20. *Bailey powerhouse Both Trenners and Watts there were recruited under Bailey, and were already 3 years in by the time Neeld got there. I'm not nit picking, but I reckon Neeld gets painted with too much, and Bailey too little. If we had Roos instead of Neeld I doubt there would have been a different outcome. Sure he was a B-grade coach, but so was the list he inherited.
  21. I had an old coach who won a few world cups skiing. As a kid he had a tear and got a knee operation. His coach told him it was fixed, but following an op as a retired adult he realise they cut it completely, so it wouldnt niggle and he would continue to ski! Good old eastern europe.
