  1. Trengove Grimes Watts Frawley Garland Clark Sylvia Jurrah Gysberts Bail Magner Morton Blease Jamar Petterd Jones Howe Martin Mckenzie Strauss Tapscott Bartram Throw in Viney and another quality mid in next years super draft stir in some good Coaching and we still have the makings of a top 4 side Well at least I think we do
  2. I'd bet Neeld knows exactly who it was. I'd say he will let them live or die by their own sword. Making a song and dance over it achieves nothing beside more bad press for the club. Team selection night can't come quick enough for mine. We have a reasonable list with serious potential for upside but no onfield leadership. Watching Demonlanders jump ship after one game following the death of Jim makes me wonder how they haven't already jumped off. Barracking for Melbourne isn't easy, hasn't been at anytime for most of our lives, Just think how sweet Number 13 will be and look after yourselves as it may take a while
  3. Which officials? If I was Neeld I would take Davey into my office, look him in the eye and say "You've got 2 weeks to show me whether you're in or out." End of discussion.
  4. We 're in line for some seriously good draft picks this year.
  5. I'm in I have a feeling we'll have a very different club at the start of next year.
  6. OUT: Green, Davey, Moloney, supporters who haven't got the ticker to handle our current predicament. You better dig deep folks because the next few months are going to be tough. As for letting/telling you kid to barrack for Hawthorn, I'd suggest you fark right off as well. We were certainly disgraceful on Saturday and it plainly showed how important leadership is. Personally I'd never play Green or Davey again, nor would I bother with Dunn, Moloney(complete frontrunner and without Jamar putting it down his throat will be totally exposed) or Joel Macdonald. Why play old spuds when we can play young ones!!
  7. Terrible waste of a good draft pick.
  8. Whilst i tend to agree with most of what you say I really think you should get something better to do over summer.
  9. As Melbourne supporters we've had no choice but to applaud great performances from our many average teams, hence applauding mediocrity. (I quite liked it!) As far as raving on about your number 1 draft pick playing well in the 2's at the beginning of his 4th year, well that's just silly. He's a superb talent but if he he can't match that with the required intensity then he's just another good player in an average team.
  10. To be the best in this comp you need to have an unwavering appetite for the contest. I have seen that in Hurley. I haven't seen that in Watts. I won't be satisfied before I see it on a regular basis. To those glowing about his BOG at Casey, stop applauding mediocrity.
  11. We need to land a gun from one of the new clubs lists. Someone who can lead our midfield to the top. They have to be truly elite or we won't win a flag. simple. let's hope the club is upto it post Jimma. Might be a good job for one G. Lyon armed with a bucket load of salary cap space. Fingers crossed
  12. Dribble on Biff if it makes you feel better. The reality remains that we've quite likely wasted several key picks and losing Scully leaves our midfield being led by B and C graders and a bunch of kids. Not ideal.
  13. Sylvia Green Davey Bate Dunn Jetta Spencer and probably several others will hopefully all be gone at years end.
  14. 10th maybe Possibly 8th could easily be 13th siht my mood has dropped over the last few days with regard to this club. I miss Jimmy
  15. We've had alot of high picks on the back of some very dubious efforts by both the coach and the team. We are simply reaping what we sowed. More average to good footballers to take us close but not all the way. Unless Viney turns out to be as good as hoped and we pick up an elite midfielder we are stuck in mediocrity as always. Losing Scully was a disaster for the club. He'll be a gun in the next few years.
  16. I think you mean Dustin Martin The Real Number 1
  17. Darling/Cook............................Oh Dear!
  18. Lengthen out your left side whilst sitting into the ground more and draw right shoulder blade back and down, don't let the right ribs bulge out and turn from below the navel. Otherwise a nice twist for a big bloke. Oh and agree on the Pies game, the support was pathetic, Backing up your teammates wasn't a highlight under Bailey
  19. If we have 5 elite players we'll win 3 maybe 4 Cups Judd is elite Ablett is elite Franklin is elite We have no one in Judd or Ablett's orbit. It was going to be Scully but apparently he left Watts may have the brains, skill and body but does he have that gut burning desire, time will tell For mine he's the only 1 on our list with truly elite potential I think Trengove, Grimes, Frawley and possibly Sylvia can be A graders Then there's the maybe A or very close to in Blease, Morton, Garland and at a stretch Jurrah. I do think our bottom 6 will strong putting us in with a chance for number 13 Viney is a total unknown at this level so I'm leaving him out
  20. Good post.
  21. Astounding. I was at the game and thought it could of been career ending as his lower leg looked totally rooted. Really Great news
  22. No it's not Flooding is a blight on the game as is keepings off The lack of true one on one contests and the disappearance of the FF are partly due to the high rotation of the bench 2 subs and 2 interchange is a good rule Players and coaches will adapt quickly and the game will be much better because of it Burst players will need to work on their tanks but will still be part of the game Give me a CONTEST anyday
  23. What to go and play on the GC? Hardly a great outcome if you're a North supporter. Not to mention how much ground we have still to travel to grow this club to a size big enough to be self sustaining. I'm a fan of the Victorian Clubs.
