We have been a mess. We have recruited players to play an outdated game plan, played that game plan and did so rudderless without leadership and without demanding the excellence required. And don't get me started on the whole "getting games into young players at all costs" mantra. That's it in a nutshell. We know what's wrong, it's fairly plain, it's not rocket science. I honestly believe that we have the best coach we could possible to fix this mess. Unfortunately as we have been told before it will take time and there will be casualties.

Don't mention the war.

Game plan focusses on forcing a stoppage when unable to get clear. Problem being we can't win stoppages. Must fix this.

That we have recruited a bloody good player that 17 other teams would love to have. Lets be serious now, this has been a nightmare of a start to our season. But lets let the negatives be negatives and let the positives, as few as they are.. be positives.

I know it's tough to cop but we are in for more pain this year, and we will need to ride it out again. Malthouse took over Collingwood in 2000, they finished 15th. In 2001 they finished 9th. In 2002 and 2003 they played in GFs.

The wheel of publicity turns in mysterious ways Thomo, we will be ok. I am old fashioned, when you do the right thing and act with consistency and integrity and set standards, good things happen.

I don't agree, we could actually come out of this better than before. I see this as an enormous opportunity to stamp ourselves as a club of integrity and strength. The kind that attracts sponsors. We are certainly getiing a lot of media lately. I am hopeful that we will have little trouble attracting a sponsor, if one strikes while the iron is hot they will get good exposure right away. They can be the knight in shining armour supporting the clubs resolve to stand against racism and bigotry.

I would like that too, but as I stated earlier, it is the players choice. You either get inspired to unite behind a team ethos and goal, or you don't.

Of course you can, you unite behind the coach or you don't. You make it sound pretty easy Stuie. You can attempt to get people to unite behind a cause, but you can't force them to unite.

Who chooses unity, Neeld or the players?
