  1. Best bet is to utilise the crowd for the game than risk poor turnout at another event. Meet in a nominated place before the game. Placards, chants, marshmallows lots of people. Organise your back turning time etc during the rally. Notify all media.
  2. Not to be a negaitve nanny but that is the litmus test for mine, we have a number of players who fly when things are going well and fail when the heat is on. I have no doubt that when we are put under pressure again we will fail badly again this season. I hope to see that we are learning something from those games and getting a little bit stronger every time.
  3. Agreed, statements must be made. Fevola played a lot of great footy too but a permissive culture severely damaged one club and put another back five years. St Kilda..... I love Beamer and his form is outstanding, but it wasn't his form that was in question. He needs to do some contrition and let some time pass to get his title back.
  4. I love them the breadth of Tappy's neck
  5. So basically because someone? said he has a broken foot you are guessing it is a navicular done. Even if it is true you don't make a post like this unless you have some reliable information to back it up.
  6. Good : Jamar - Moloney was a huge part of our dominance.
  7. Fine thread, as part of point 1 add desire to run and expectation to win the footy and..............confidence.
  8. Fair enough Artie but the right type of criticism be it by self, peers, coaches or otherwise is the key to improvement. Improvement is exactly what we saw today and that was borne of that criticism. It was an emphatic response, I would now love to see our boys grind out a couple of wins against good opposition. Good thread and keep up the postitivity.
  9. Solid game Artie, he showed some great skills and decision making today. I hope he can keep it up when the pressure is stepped up against solid opposition.
  10. 6 Moloney 5 Jones ( has been our 2nd best player so far this season, people need to open thier eyes and watch the game) 4 Sylvia 3 Petterd 2 Jamar 1 Davey Apologies to Trengove, Gysberts, Green, Bail, Maric, Frawley, Tapscott and several others. Watts can step it up further, can get involved more. Promising signs, hate to harp on it but is now watching the footy into his hands when taking a jump and is losing his hyper awareness of what is around him. Really promising signs.
  11. When casting a critical eye over our list it becomes a matter of opinion. It is my opinion that we have a strong list and that the talent is there. This should be the best list we have had for 15 years at least. It then becomes a question of whether the talent is being A) Developed appropriately in the physical and mental aspects of the game B) Given appropriate leadership on the ground and off it C) Being coached correctly ie. to a game style which can defeat good sides, with players being played in position according to strengths and weaknessses and with a chance to develop, and playing in-form and physically fit condition footballers. These things all being co-dependent and factors which affect intensity levels, training commitment and team culture. Whether we are achieving these aims to the optimum are the big ?? at the moment. As of today I would say that we would be below expecations in these areas at this point in the season. There is a long way to go but the next 5 or 6 weeks will give us a much better gauge as to the overall health of the Footy Dept.
  12. Let me summarise this thread by saying that with some of our picks we have exceeded expectations and others have disappointed a little to date, while others have performed as expected. Much like the other 15 clubs over the last few years.
  13. No stagnation from defence Tactical reactions from coach Jamar and Moloney dominate clearances Davey to kick a good goal and really enjoy it and celebrate it A surefooted James Frawley 4 quarters from Col Grimes hitting targets again Jack Watts to get reward for playing with renewed intensity
  14. The OP is so full of either false recollection or fabrication. I feel that in order to preserve the inegrity of the internet I should close same.
  15. Probably unfair considering these blokes will have been sent out to fly the flag for the club. Still I partially agree and in that I really don't want to hear too much more from the players or coach at the moment.
  16. Morton? still dunno. I don't know that he has either the strength or reflexes to become what we need. Happy to be proven wrong? Still too early to make a call on BP's recruiting, couple of good hits and a couple of misses.
  17. There is always a question mark over hime for mine when he is struggling stay involved whether it is mental or physical because of the problems he has had with his body. Hard one to gauge is our Colin. At the moment he is the most complete player on our list, just can't put it together often enough.
  18. I think it gives us an opportunity to look at the blokes who can keep it together when things aren't going well. God knows we have quite a number at the moment who struggle when the heat is on.
  19. Colin Garland is one of the "senior" younger players on the list. He is charismatic, intelligent, courageous, articulate and sensible. I am aware of him quietly pulling a couple of blokes into line. He is one of the sleeper leaders on our list, would like to see him given increased responsibilty as the season continues. Leaders are often borne out of times like these, and sometimes they are not the ones you expect.
  20. I would hazard a guess at least one more out, maybe 2.
  21. Stupid moderators. I say that they should all have thier pay docked this fortnight.
  22. Why start a thread making a false statement? "Aliens land in Coober Pedy and demand fried chicken in exchange for Harold Holt"
  23. In Mcdonald, Petterd Out Morton, Dunn Davey on notice.
