  1. That's great when you get it in there.
  2. Biggest issue at the moment is getting the ball into our F50, Davey playing in a pocket won't help that. Our conversion rate once it is inside 50 is not a problem either. He would however help keep the ball in there, but as others have said the trade offs are too great.
  3. Hom "i" cide might work better. Not that there is anything wrong with that
  4. Somewhere between the two RR's lies the truth.
  5. Thank you for a sane thread, they are getting more difficult to find.
  6. Agree with nutbean on all counts. Stagnancy is our biggest problem. When we lose our mojo we stop moving, as in the 3rd quarter. We try and play safe, which ironically is the most unsafe way to play. Not enough leadership yesterday and too much fear.
  7. You just jelly you aintz got H's mad skillz!!
  8. Aussie is a footballing talent. I would like to see him in the side ASAP. I think this is important for him to get another taste at the moment.
  9. Bartram has a unique blend of strength, speed and reasonable stamina. This gives him the ability to take on jobs against class players. Unfortunately he doesn't possess the skill of a Trengove otherwise he would be a great player. He has learnt to work within his limitations and give good value to the side.
  10. I call him Chip, and generally I set the tone for these things.
  11. Out: Surpise injured player yet to be announced In: Frawley
  12. I had my humour gland removed at moderator school. I hope chip is back this week.
  13. I am deleting any unsubstantiated rumour mongering. This is a thread to discuss the MFC injury list. Apologies to those responding in rebuke, I have deleted your posts to attempt to maintain the integrity of the thread.
  14. I agreee that he has performed best when he acts instinctively, ie quick hands. I have said it before that I believe that he could improve a huge amount if he changed his head position and his focus when he comes to attack the ball. Awareness of opponents and other players is crucial but too much takes focus away from the footy. I really believe it is that simple. Watch his eyes when he attacks a marking contest when there are players around him. At this time he just hasn't made that jump in intensity to AFL footy. I don't think he is deliberately shirking anything, he just hasn't made the transition in intensity from junior to senior footy.
  15. He said he wouldn't be a star, that's not writing him off, huge difference. As for your third sentence you basically rehash what I put in my post.
  16. I saw enough to believe that given some luck, some tweaking to the gameplan and a lift in intensity we should improve on last years showing. Our defence was leaky early, yet the forward line looks dangerous and our midfield options have increased. The thing that impresses me most is that we have the distinct possibility of having depth in all areas of the ground. Still the loss was not acceptable and I don't think that the club will be treating it as an honourable draw. I have a feeling that we may run into some form and string quite a few wins together this season.
  17. It's my pet hate to see people paraphrase another post innacurately. He didn't write him off, merely stated that he show little to suggest that he will be a star, at this stage he is correct.. It's his third season, he is fit and has done a pre-season. We will know a lot more about Jack Watts by the end of the season if he remains fit.
  18. Took on the burden of responsibilty and was the general at the clearances, thanks a large part to his Russian sidekick.
  19. Onya Mikey. The Jamar/Moloney combination was the main reason that we were in the game late.
  20. Very, very good debut. Cult figure status brewing.
  21. He had an off game with his disposal, he has played a few where he has hardly put a foot wrong. We also struggle to beat the zone coming out of defence... and because Grimes takes so many marks as third man up he is the one looking up the field taking a kick in hope.
  22. Cost both teams the game, set shots from both teams were poor.
  23. 6 - Moloney 5 - Jamar 4 - Trengove 3 - Tapscott 2 - Garland 1 - Sylvia Moloney was huge for us today. Honourable mention to Martin, best game he has played by a country mile.
  24. Yes, and I hardly think that a stern talking to and some extra duties is an over-reaction.
