  1. Four debutants and a second gamer?
  2. Well his old man was tough and hard, an absolute bullock. One of my faves.
  3. This is true. There was enough evidence mounting prior to the injury disasters to prevent his reappointment. Without eulogising I will say that any future success that the club may have in the future will be largely because of the hits he was willing to take for the club's plan over the last few seasons.
  4. It's an opinion piece, not too imaginative and based on actual events. I have seen a lot worse. There is no doubt that Bailey is under pressure, and there is the intervention of Stynes in the Footy Dept which ceratinly adds merit to the claim.
  5. Shane Mumford Joel Selwood Trent Cotchin
  6. I like it cos its funny and I get to fantasise for the three seconds that i allow myself to believe it. Can I mix and match bits?
  7. It's a good and measured post and a better question. The great teams are borne out of a demand of accountabilty to each other. I look forward to seeing the response of the club and the players in question. What is apparent is that three players, Moloney, Jones and Chip are intent on showing the young guys how to commit. Regardless of any official leadership positions these guys are taking the responsibility upon themselves.
  8. Said nothing of the sort but your comprehension problems are not mine to own. I love what Jack Watts has to offer, and he earns a game next week on yesterday's efforts, he was very good. I expect he will become a very good to excellent player and hopefully a champ. I am saying that I would skin the cat differently for the sake of building an era in the way that the great sides do.
  9. Yeah my bad.
  10. Richmond are going well, they will put in some crap performances this year, as will Essendon.
  11. I think the large number of list changes made by the club and the fact that Bailey was employed by the club shotly thereafter indicate that the Club and Bailey were on the same page. The club lead by Bailey then continued to build a list based on drafting kids.
  12. Green hasn't been that, nor has Davey but I get your point. The club chose a process to choose it's leadership group along the same lines as nearly every other club. It remains to be seen whether we have got it right. Davey will get some time to mentally adjust either at Casey or in a green vest on the pine, not only was he a poor leader he was a destructive influence. Hopefully Brad is coming to terms with it all. We shall see.
  13. My understanding is that the recklessness aspect is supported by actual injury. If there is no injury there is no case to answer. Winmar got up a little groggy but unless there is a medical report to suggest an "injury" occurred there won't be a report.
  14. Yeah, you called him part of a "culture of softness". I say that he (Moloney), Chip, Trengove, Sylvia and Jones are attempting to impose thier standards on the rest of the team. I support the culture of those blokes. Yes I look forward to that too (Green's continuing response).
  15. Can't recall the other two but doggy certainly didn't want to go. Ferguson went to the saints. That is seven gone, did we release some rookies? I know we let a lot go at the end of that season.
  16. Dare you to say that to Brent Moloney's face, or Nathan Jones, Chip, Tappy, Russian or even Grimes, Trengove, Warnock, Nev Jetta, Bail. Tell Jordy Gysberts that he doesn't put in enough. We have one player who is currently soft, and a captain who is coming to terms with responsibilty and has until yesterday failed. They are weak links that must be changed or eradicated. When things get hard we find out the most about a list and get an opportunity to respond. I thought in the face of adversity Brad Geen made a statement yesterday. I look forward to seeing the continued response from him, Jones and Moloney.
  17. I think you will find as RPFC posted, every out of contract fringe player that was on the list was delisted on Bailey's arrival. He turned over half the list in 2 years if I remember correctly. You really need to give this up, you are the only one arguing this pont of view for good reason. If your assessment is that holding on to Bruce was his only mistake then the release of Mclean, Trapper and Chris Johnson would see him well in the black. As for Newton and Meesen both were contracted players, a deal was struck to have them removed from the main list rather than paying them out and getting nothing in return. Bailey and the club have had a fair dinkum crack at the list, they have gone for the contested ball.
  18. I don't think this can be overstated. History is created on a daily basis. I can't help but thinking that this is just a defeatist's way of preparing for disappointment. Well a defeatist supporter/member deserves a defeatist footbal club. Fortunately we have some blokes like Grimes, Gysberts, Watts, Scully and Trengove who are used to winning and expect no less. They are the what the club will build the new culture on.
  19. If Bailey doesn't get a new contract, list management won't be the reason. You may not like Bailey and frankly I am not certain that he has the answers to take us the next step but don't rewrite history. He was given a mandate to completely rebuild and do whatever it took to put the required talent on the list. This he has done, step back and look at the midfield that we now possess and what that could mean in another 50-100games. Those bemoaning what Bailey has done with the list need to outline specfic alternatives. Your ball RGRS, what would you have done differently. If Bailey doesn't get a new contract he will be very quickly snapped up by a leading club to play a key role.
  20. Exactly
  21. In opposite world?
  22. It's not about what is best for Aaron Davey, it's about the club. If Davey or any other player has an issue with that then they not only do not belong at our club, they don't belong at any AFL club. Dumb coaching would be being held to ransom by a sook player. By the way Davey has been played all over the ground this season. He has clearly been asked to perform the role of designated kicker for the side in the absence of Grimes...you know for the team. MFC culture starts here and now, you perform for the team...not negotiable.
  23. I reckon that if the coach plays you out of position you should squib contests, stop running and just generally sook up until he moves you back where you reckon you should be played. If that's the kind of old fashioned and wise thinking you are spouting?
  24. Mclure.....OK, Our kids were good, we were on top in most KPIs especially contested ball, tackling, a man down with and already depleted outfit and the white flag was flown by one of our senior players. I saw enough today to continue to get excited aboout our midfield going forward. It will be the best midfield at the club in my lifetime in the next couple of seasons.
