  1. He's always had my love. In fact, despite some pretty stiff competition these days, he's possibly my favourite player.
  2. We clearly had a weak, incompetent and highly unprofessional culture that needed a major overhaul. Neeld identified this. Unfortunately he was not the man, nor did he possess any of the requisite skills, to be able to turn it around. If anything, he took it to a new level of incompetence not ever witnessed before in the history of the game. He struck me as a vicious nerd who should never have been put in charge of leading humans. That said, I really liked his rhetoric for the first 6 weeks of the preseason i.e. before I managed to get a handle on what he had done/was doing to the club.
  3. I'm in NYC. Is it possible to watch the game on the AFL app tomorrow without first knowing the score? Watching it live at 1.00am on Sat night at One Oak will otherwise be pretty tough.
  4. And Pedo was Herculean in that fourth quarter. Was super influential to the final outcome.
  5. And Shuey. Took Blease instead. It was line ball. Schwab told me this at a Debt Demolition Dinner. Sloane and Wines are the real tragedies though. Each of them had an arm in an MFC guernsey. Club didn't even interview Martin. What a disgrace. Roos apparently tried to move heaven and earth to trade for pick 3 to get him to the Swans instead of Richmond. Geez we sucked back then.
  6. How the hell did Lachie Henderson and Toby Greene get off this week?! The MRP is red hot bs. I agree - I reckon we'd be 4-1 had we had Lewis and Hogan against the Cats and Freo, Lewis in particular.
  7. Just watched the game again. We absolutely owned Richmond for three quarters but they kicked some genuinely arsey goals to keep them in it. We were always going to run out of legs in the last quarter with two talls down for much of the game (including our only ruckman). In short, Richmond got super lucky last night. We were bloody unlucky. And a bit stupid at times - conceding those goals in the last minute of the second and third quarters was criminal. Desperately miss Lewis' cool head in those moments. Hibberd is a gun. What a debut. I feel absolutely devastated. That loss really hurts.
  8. Tom Bugg - 5 goals, 32 disposals, 8 tackles. They're Dustin Martin-esque stats.
  9. I'd prefer to see Pedo in the team. He contributes. And he can take a mark.
  10. Yep, Emily's okay. Her Dad's apparently super connected at Port.
  11. Exactly. Goodwin's not in the business of simply gifting games to his 'mates'.
  12. Hibberd is a gun. Can't believe we got him - some people here plainly don't get it. And well done Saty on the Tim Smith prediction. Pedo must be slightly on the outer - personally, I like him in the team. Not happy that Kent's been omitted.
  13. For the regulars here, you know I'm not a troll. A mate of mine texted me yesterday as follows: Him: "Bernie Vince?" Me: "What?" Him: "Wants to go back to Adelaide." Me: "That's absolute bs. Loves the Dees and loves living in MLB. Reading Big Footy too much? It's only got fake news." Him: "Nope, it's from Emily's Dad." (He's seriously in the loop at Port Adelaide.) Bernie's my favourite Demon. I love the bloke. My instinct is that this is carp. BUT is anyone able to shed light on Bernie's personal circumstances? Is he dating a SA girl? Does he ultimately want to live in Adelaide? Or, as I suspect, is this just bs?
  14. Stupid actions I concede but the penalties were completely disproportionate to what they did, especially having regard to similar, if not worse, acts by other players this year that have barely attracted any sanction at all. It's cost us at least one win thus far.
  15. Mark Neeld's back in da haus.
  16. I think quite the opposite. We dismantled Geelong at their 'home' ground for two quarters straight despite missing key players, having no ruckman and kicking absolutely woefully at goal. We eventually ran out of legs, which was always going to happen. When Gawn went down, they were always going to win the game. And they did, but make no mistake, we were up to our necks in that game. The Cats are now top of the ladder. Against Freo, sure we went missing in the third quarter, but our key 'outs' hurt us during that period. Nonetheless, we turned it around in the fourth quarter and simply should've won that game. Richmond will deservedly be the favourites going into this game. But that's not because they are the better team - it has more to do with the fact that we have some massive 'outs', which have hurt us, and which have cost us at least one of our two losses thus far this year. One cannot underestimate the importance of injuries and suspensions to key players of any team - the Bulldogs last year are perhaps the stand alone exception to this rule that is otherwise an inalienable truth about success in this game. Our best 22 would have Richmond covered next week. Problem is, we don't have nearly our best 22.
  17. We can blame the Freo loss squarely at the feet of Carlton's doctor and the MRP process. We absolutely missed Lewis in the third quarter. Relevantly, Cripps has played the last two games, including playing out the game against us in full. I'm surprised it's not getting more commentary.
  18. Didn't obviously, though we absolutely should've beaten Geelong and Freo despite having several key 'outs'. It's a pity we lost those games obviously but we were up to our neck in both of them. So much so, we should really be 4-0. It's therefore possible that you need to find some positives ENYAW - perhaps you're over-reacting a litte.
  19. I don't know what to think. I just hate the fact that Lewis and Gawn are out, and that had we had both of them (with Hogan) we'd probably be at least 3 wins and 1 loss. Richmond will be a tough game. The absolute 'in' must be 4 quarter white hot intensity. No more 10-15 minute lapses.
