  1. No I don't think he will be there that long. Hardwick, till they sacked all his assistants and started again he had an average record, rest is history. Fingers crossed that's the epoch change just happened at the Dee's.
  2. Thats a nice times bye for the boys.
  3. I would disagree on one point, yes Clarkson was lucky, all coaches are either lucky or unlucky depending on their squad during their tenure. But if you know his history he was driven to succeed in that role. I think he would have taken any team to a GF given the time and development to do so. He managed to build sustained success using all the tools a club can in the comp. whether people think its fair or not.
  4. Great news, what I am looking for is his ability to consistently replicate his VFL form at AFL level, if he does, he'll be there all year. Hopefully there was been lots of fwd synergy work going on at training for the three of them.
  5. Really good article to read. Like already been stated, the work of those two are great in all their articles. He's only reaching towards his peak now!
  6. Apparently demanding $150,000 a year from Carlton. $30k for playing and they are currently employed her on about $80k at the club. But she is not consistent, very hot and cold, seems more focussed on her boxing and overall profile?
  7. Typically, bought him in to replace Dunkley in my fantasy footy this week!
  8. The tigers were far more intense at the opening of our game than tonights. We broke them, the dogs didn't in a far less tense game and simply grounded them down in the tigers fashion.
  9. He's coming on nicely, his marking was great under pressure tonight with the wet conditions. What impresses me masts his recovery even when going to ground, amazing agility.
  10. Their best stars are getting old, not that has slowed down the cats either. We'll see a mini-rebuild soon to sustain them. Their massive home grand advantage almost ensures they play finals every year. Look at last year, couldn't win a game in the hub but still made finals after regrouping.
  11. You can only play who your fixtures against. We have Beaton sides that have Beaton more fancied sides that what we are. My concern for team development is winning is a habit. We have shown we pushed we can steady and pull away from sides.
  12. Looks like its going to be more than that. Gaff run down by Rohan, all the run and pressure with cats.
  13. McGovern done with a groin injury, could get really ugly now. Sun v Swans game is not a good standard, too many injuries for the swans. Can't see swans doing a come back at all.
  14. Its what's happened to us fo years.
  15. Thats going to hurt, possible fracture you'd think.
  16. so many throws in modern footy,
  17. Put him on Cotchin, plays old and slow (relative to younger players) as well. At least Jone's rarely gets like Cotchin does all the time now.
  18. You are right, but from what I saw on tv he was unsighted for most of the game. Then again I only see what they show in the frame. Same with Brown for 3 qtrs, unsighted with no impact. It good to have options and pressure internally....
  19. Pie pushing the weagles early in the game. Looking much bette tonight and the weagles don't look up at the moment. interesting 2nd coming up.
  20. Can you imagine the King brothers in the 1 side! That would be impressive to see.
  21. The confidence going into todays's match is the consistency we have been playing with for the last 5 weeks. They aren't up and down like the men's team.
  22. I coach modified juniors and we do this to ensure full teams if someone is short. Up to no finals its fine, I tell me players , play your natural game but don't kick goals against us! Though some do as they just play naturally. :) But once we move into 7/8 age group when finals become a thing, winning become important. I have seen loaned players juts stand there and watch a ball roll past them, as they won't compete against their own team. So you lend a player to another team (I'm assuming its a fringe/depth player or similar), they play you and they are a defender, what do they do? Why would they work against the team they are going back to? Maybe because they'll show their talents etc, to get more opportunity or interest from other teams. But it would be so conflicting. Despite being a "business" at least in AFL there is still strong team ethos between the players.
  23. I know 94 we won the first 5 games of the year and lost to pies in game 6 (also the game where Jack did his back and that was it for him at the Dee's)
  24. good, he'll push himself. He know what he needs to do to have a place in the 1st's
  25. For the women. I don't think the week's rest is an advantage. The season is short and so are the qtr's, so they don't have the fatigue of 23 rounds to overcome. We keep doing our thing and we'll be in for a good chance, and hopefully Zanker doesn't have another quiet day like last game. Adelaide over is more neutral for us, which is great.
