  1. I don’t believe it is, but it could prove to be a very helpful factor in financing the project.
  2. Agree with you on the flags in your first paragraph as it is way too simplistic a measure to be definitive. Fwiw, I also think Scott is a better Coach than Goodwin, but I am unsure on that description “demonstrably.” It is very hard to measure who is the better Coach, because of so many variables in the analysis. An interesting comparison could be to look at the last final we played against each other in 2021 PF where they had a great side on paper with Selwood and multiple other stars and we smashed them. Then this year when they were in red hot form and unbeaten we beat them with a much poorer side on paper. Does that go some way to helping with a decision, maybe/maybe not? Does it prove who is the better Coach, no it doesn’t. In the final it was do or die and in our recent meeting it was a red hot team being beaten for the first time. That would at least though suggest Goodwin did pretty well in those games, against the Coach some say is the best in the game.
  3. I wonder if Woey or Bowey could get super fit and play that role.
  4. Well those rules were changed pretty quickly twice. An exemption, IF we were desperate to get him, would be an easier thing to get. It may well be that we don’t consider him an AFL standard recruit and so are not fussed.
  5. Without even thinking and naming some of the greatest like: Matthews. Carey. Ablett Senior. Barassi. Whitten. Flower. Bartlett. Tuck. Francis Bourke. Selwood. Dunstall. Bont so far. etc
  6. No they should be their usual busy self, as few will be interested in staying inside to watch the game on TV.
  7. IF we think this kid is AFL material, we should go hard for a rule change or an exemption, given the widely held view, that we have been the most disadvantaged team ( re Andrew ) of the NGA rule changes.
  8. Maybe AFL money, if the Umpires are given a badly needed home there.
  9. I was only commenting on your post about the obscene number of picks Tigers have, I meant they will need all the high picks they can get. I think we agree with each other though.
  10. I feel more relaxed about the coming week now that it is an all interstate GF.
  11. On the other hand what if Oscar Mc had not got injured, probably their most irreplaceable player. What if Coleman, Doedee, McCarthy and Gardiner were available. Yes there are always what ifs. Goody could have nightmares over a thug act and horrible kicking for goal in the 23 finals and unbelievable injuries in 22 finals.
  12. Tigers will need their best picks as they finished last and are losing good players.
  13. IMO Petracca isn’t happy, no matter what anyone thinks, as he wanted to leave and at this stage it looks like not happening. He might be accepting of the current situation, as he really has very little choice atm, if he wants to continue as an AFL player. The situation might change at trade time this year or next year, who knows and if he stays and we are successful next year and he feels vindicated he may stay and then be happy.
  14. Sounds very fair to the other clubs in the AFL. Remind me who is in GF. These advantages need to be peeled back now. 3 of those clubs are top 4 in the AFL and Suns have the list to get there.
  15. Clearly racist and unwoke and against DEI and gender biased and culturally biased and climate harmful and just not good.
  16. I am sure we did that. An approximation would be known.
  17. Not necessarily. You sell funding on a project, not a possibility. You need to know what facilities are involved and be able to target finance from Government, AFL, MCC maybe, Donors, Sponsors and supporters. That is realistically only possible when you know what has been approved and who else might be involved. No one will commit to a maybe.
  18. No real point in chasing funding when you don’t have a project. First stage gives us a project. Now design and funding.
  19. Well I hope Lions are really fit, because they have the momentum.
  20. And Morris, Ah-Chee and Hipwood. Problem could be if it’s close, Lions will feel the pinch late, after a tough Semi last week. Not helped with big Mc injury, now effectively useless and Lions haven’t scored since. Maybe get Oscar Mc off and ruck Joe and Eric. At least they will have another runner.
  21. You mean the PP that will go with number 1 in the draft, Levi Ashcroft.
  22. If they have the same agent he would have known Tracc’s gripes, so how would Houston have been an absolute lock? Also now the Tracc situation has seemingly settled, so why isn’t he still an absolute lock? It is to do with pick 5 I believe.
  23. I think you will find it wasn’t Tracc, it was us dropping to pick 5, which we deemed far too much for Houston.
