NON-MFC: Round 22
Strange then that the Swans have at least 10 more frees at this point in the game.

NON-MFC: Round 22
I thought there was a rule that only the Captain could speak to the umpire and at a break. Pendles always does it and is at it again with umpire 22 Williamson, who is standing there talking to him. Why is this constantly allowed to happen?

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Will have a jump out next week and hopefully racing by end of week. If you are a horse follower I have Show Some Decorum Race 9 and Moonhaven Race 5 racing saturday at Moonee Valley. Sorry to the non racehorse people and back to Jeffo, who I think will debut either against GC or Pies in the last game, just to give him a taste of senior football.

Not as sad as someone else on DL.

200 cms is better than 197 cms so that is a start. I have to go now and ask someone for my life savings to be returned.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
I am a fan of Jeffo, though not as big as Picket Fence and have posted since last year I thought he would make it, given time. While I am happy for him to get a game this year, we shouldn’t expect too much, given the way we are playing and the fact that he will be nervous and won’t have played with most of his teammates before. I hope we don’t start rubbishing him if his first game is a poor one. He is showing a bit now and hopefully he and JVR can form a great key forward combo for us for years to come.

Trade Targets
Drafted at 197 grew to 200 first preseason and is now 204 cms according to his Wiki site and AFL bio and another site.

Trade Targets
We are apparently looking at Eagles’ Harry Edwards who is a key back and 204 cms.

NON-MFC: Round 21
You would have to say on paper we have a better list than the Hawks, but their style of play and game plan is working far better than ours. It may be due to a lot of factors, but it is certainly starting with the coaching.

Time to go Goody?
Just checking, have Bevo, Mitchell, Longmuir and Hinkley been sacked yet? All were hopeless at stages this year. Longmire will obviously be sacked tonight and Voss must be on shaky ground, as is McCrae.

Well they are former Dees.😉

NON-MFC: Round 21
Media say anything about him playing, without any punishment at all, for at the least, being out at 3.00 am at a nightclub last week, drinking and maybe doing more and ending up unresponsive, taken by ambulance to hospital? Can imagine the coverage if it was a lesser club. Absolute silence from a totally beholden media.

CASEY: Rd 19 vs Footscray
Fullarton could be tried in some different roles, whereas Imo Billings is a bust.

Can’t imagine any Dees fan not enjoying that.

I agree we don’t owe Hunter anything and now I will tell you why we will give him his 200th game. It’s because we are aware of culture and the credits in the bank we will get from players and their Managers from doing it. Even our own players will be happy for him and it’s all part of building a good club culture. Players know what’s going on and clubs sometimes have to help their players, just as we expect everything every game from the players. He may not deserve a game on form, but the likelihood is that we will delist him in a few weeks and his AFL career will be over. We are not playing finals and we have the chance to thank a bloke for choosing our club and help him with a small gesture, to achieve a milestone, which he will treasure and why it was done would be obvious to the entire AFL community. Even played as a sub, he gets there for just one more appearance. It will create positive publicity if we do and maybe even more negative publicity if we don’t. Who knows the benefits this can bring and it is only a small gesture after all and again builds culture in the playing group and could even help secure future players. From where we are now, the lower we go, the bigger the long term benefits in better draft picks, higher trading picks and a softer draw next year and playing Hunter once more won’t hurt that. Therefore I am pretty certain barring any mishap, that Hunter will get another game with us and I would be happy with that for both Hunter and the club and it’s culture.
