Pretty ordinary behaviour by Dogs fans booing Lobb. It could put off other players from going there and staying there.

Or have you got that the wrong way round Ted? How often do they win when he isn’t starring? He rarely plays poorly.

Agree, but I posted why I don’t think he will come to us. Hope I am wrong, as Ned would be a great off season get for us.

    Hope you are right.

It could be a great way to badly tear a calf or hamstring. Do you agree Webber?

Hope Ned sees it your way.

Won’t come to us, for the very reason we lost Grundy. If Max was say retiring this year ,I think we would have the best chance of the clubs named.
  8. Given that this player’s footy career has ended by an AFL medical directive, after an act that the AFL now admits is illegal, I believe we will get full cap relief. What we won’t and didn't get for half this season, was a replacement player and if it was allowed when Gus was banned, the pick of all eligible players. Anyway that is now water under the bridge.
  9. But it’s the truth, it is what happened Mrs. Maynard. I understand his Mothers’ discomfort, but it is a fact that a players’ career ended after a head knock, caused by her son. It was early in a final, after he had said during that week that he would make the opposition earn every possession and his opponent had been concussion free for the previous 5 years and was even wearing a helmet. The bump was delivered by jumping off the ground, bracing with his shoulder and hitting the victim after he had disposed of the ball and was therefore unsuspecting of being smashed into. They are facts. PS: I have never thought that Maynard intended to knock Gus out, but rather to make him earn the kick after copping a decent bump and putting some fear into his team mates.
  10. That’s what I meant. I didn’t say “you “ criticised Max. It was in answer to Max escaping accountability, which usually means criticism, if people feel it is deserved. My post is that it is hard for Max to face criticism, for his on field performance this season, for the reasons in my post.

The first two would make us a much better team. We can only hope.

We extended Bill by 2 years when we could have waited until end of year. No one was chasing him, why then. He isn’t a regular AFL player even.
  13. I don’t know what you are implying, but it is difficult to criticise the best player in your team so far this year. There are plenty more who do so much less. If it’s off field, then I am unaware of it. On field my only criticisms are his taps are not going to advantage enough and he can spray his kicks a bit. When a sole ruckman also averages about 25 possies it is hard to criticise. I am more concerned why great disposers like Salem and Bowey can’t pass a ball 20 metres and why so many are clearly not putting in.
  14. You can add losing Smith without replacement, remembering his last game was in a final which saw him our major scorer. JVR has missed games and we also lost Harmes who was depth. Spargo hasn’t played at all and Hore has rarely played.
  15. Did anybody?
  16. Redleg replied to a post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Club has listed JVR at 193 cms and Kentfield at 194 cms.

Would be good to know, as have seen different heights for both stated.
  18. Probably agree, but I am convinced he would do better than the 2 possessions Petty got, with one being a Joe the Goose.
  19. Agree. There is more chance of me playing, than Clarry getting axed.
  20. Hope you are right.

Would love both and they would make a difference.
  22. Well I got that wrong. Must have been swayed by last year.
  23. Not certain, but I think this is one ground where we kick particularly poorly for goal.
  24. I don’t see any Demon doing anything to Maynard. We won’t want suspensions and nothing less than a suspension worthy act is worth doing anyway. Pushing and shoving is meaningless and just wastes energy and is distracting from the game. The best thing we can do is win by a landslide and then a marking attempt which accidentally knocks Maynard out is the best quinella.
  25. So if true, the AFL decided before the Tribunal hearing that he would get off. So much for integrity. Again, if true, reaffirms why this is not a sport but a business.
