Yeah got me laughing that one. Completely made up new rule interpretation by Nicholls. Dermie and Lynch were laughing with me. Another new rule in our game. If you play on to advantage and 3 possessions later you lose the ball in a contest, about 30 metres closer to your goal, it is brought back as no advantage. I wasn’t laughing at that one I was gasping for breath in a hysterical fit.

Quite a few of us wanted Frost in from Port game and if selectors had agreed, we may have beaten Port and Saints. Yes he makes the odd mistake, but he is big, quick, hard at the man and ball and good defensively. His passing has improved and he is another good defensive option. He killed Tex last night. BTW it was a free as he dropped the ball.

Clearly the against us is winning. 21 goals from frees and 50’s against us in Port, Saints, Cats and Crows games to 2 for.

I remember that game and the umpire who gave us the free was banned for life by the AFL.

And again 5 goals from umpires to Crows and 1 to us to Hogan, which to me was soft as butter.

It is easy to hate umpires if you are a Melbourne supporter. We lose games because of multiple free kick goals awarded to our opponents when we can’t buy one. I watched the Pies Tigers game today and was stunned at the refusal to pay obvious holding the ball frees yet we are penalised as soon as an opponent touches our jumper. It is a joke. Think of the Harmes 50 and goal and listen to the umpires warning players today not to infringe the zone when they already are in it. It is a joke. It just seems to me if you are a club that doesn’t rant in the media you get continually screwed.

I hate to say it, but I can see a loss and our year over tonight.

The Crows side looks good on paper. Walker and Mc Govern are big ins. One good out is Doedee, he is a very good player and is their new Lever.

Congrats and well done Dom on 100 AFL games. It is an achievement you can be proud of Even though I have referred to him as Turnover Tyson, he can find the ball and if he can improve on his disposal and decision making, he still could be handy for us, especially with so many injuries these days. Modern footy requires a large number of mids and he adds to our depth there. With Viney down he is virtually the next bloke in.

You have thrown in our main key defender( and brother of our best forward). Wow!

It will be interesting to see if Kelly extends at Cats. If not he could be targeted by Eagles with a compo pick for Gaff. Kelly would be far cheaper than Gaff and would help Eagles salary cap.

The rule is ok as it is there to stop a team wasting minutes when they are ahead by deliberately giving away points like Hawks did in a GF a while back. The problem is the interpretation, it was wrong as were many frees and resultant goals to the Cats like the ruck free, the Harmes 50 and even the failure to pay Harmes the kick in danger and Brayshaw in the back in the last minute, the Hogan mark/ arm drag in the goal square and the Jeffy hold the man in the goal square when he was thrown down without the ball. Any of those gives us the win.

I know it is not fair to knock Max after his last few years, but just looking at the Cats game it was not his best, which didn’t help us. Also as to leadership or quick thinking, which we don’t have a lot of, why didn’t Max just spit out the blood in his mouth or call the trainer on and rinse and then close his mouth. As the guys on the Couch said, you don’t go off for that in the last minute when you are 2 points up. It also appeared like Tom Mac alerted the umpire. Even if the umpire says blood rule you just wipe it away or close your mouth or call the trainer to rinse. The rule is flowing blood. It was in his mouth not flowing. Just dumb with disastrous consequences. WTF is in their heads, it clearly isn’t smarts like Dangercheat.
