  1. Max would have kicked that goal against the Cats if he had gone to the camp.
  2. Well at least we have some options depending on opposition picked; Frost, Hunt, Smith, Pedo, Tyson, Bugg, Wagner, Stretch, Dec and probably next year Petty and Baker. Each of those can fill in here and there depending on needs.
  3. It doesn’t hurt to hope. I hope you are right.
  4. They obviously want him to do it a couple of times in the VFL.
  5. At some stage this season and hopefully soon, we need to announce the re signings of the Mcs, Gus and Jetta. That will allow us to move forward, without conjecture on those players.
  6. And his other brother plays with the other team in Perth.
  7. Can't see any way Tim will get to 100 games with us, but however many he plays, good on him, he will have deserved each game, with the effort he has put in.
  8. I was elected magnanimously, I mean unanimously.
  9. Apology accepted and as an olive leaf gesture, I will invite you to our next banana sampling meeting, where we will be trying combinations of old Oz favourites like Vegemite or Aeroplane Jelly, mixed with our beloved bananas. Should be a hoot of a night.
  10. I find it interesting to read speculative posts on who we can afford and who gets what etc, when we are not privy to the club's list payment information.
  11. Well if we did, every team we beat would have been below us. There are probably two decent measures in football, improvement and success.
  12. The sign of a good club is to have good depth. That is what we are improving. That means reasonable players won't always get games. 44 into 22 doesn't work.
  13. As President of the Australian Banana Lover's Association, which includes the Banana Smoothie Appreciation Society, I have referred your post to our Lawyers, the DPP and the ACCC. You have gone too far. You will be made to heel.
  14. A conversation about bananas is not a conversation about nothing.
  15. What's the story on DL, with all these new threads being started, which then fizzle out a few days later? They are just clogging up the site.
  16. Yes. WJ and I managed the Dominator and tried to get him to the Dees. He had already been rejected by Carlton twice and was a Prahran player. WJ thought he could make it and I went and spoke to him and we became his managers, long before Football Management took off. It is a long story but to make it short, the Blues wanted Tom Flower for Wayne and of course the Dees said no. Through some luck he fell into a senior practice match, filling in for an injured player and kicked a few goals quickly on Jezza, the Blues Captain Coach. That was it and he later became a champion .
  17. Would be happy to see us take the record this week with 23 winning quarters.
  18. I agree they will stay, as they have worked too hard to get the chance of success to just leave. They seem to be a very united and committed group atm and if given reasonable coin and duration it should be a formality, even if there are slightly better offers out there. Gus should join them in recommitting at some stage of the season. I think this group of players are very happy together and that is always a factor in extending contracts.
  19. As the eternal pessimist I am worried about our 6 day break after the Alice, compared to the Dogs 8 days after a Melbourne game. Interesting to see if changes are made for this game to bring in fresh legs. On disclosed selections so far this year, maybe not. Nine days then to the Pies, which is good, with the bye to follow.. It would be great on a side note, to win all 4 quarters against the Dogs and take the AFL record of 22 quarters in a row won.
  20. Why do you say the Mc's are all but signed? Have you heard something other than what we have all heard, that they are in contract talks?
  21. Very happy for a nice guy who has never given up on his AFL dream. Played his best game for us of the 4 so far and showed he can contribute. A couple of goals, some big marks, some goal assists and better rucking than Jenkins, who is much bigger than Bull.
  22. Despite the recent form of both sides, with us having the 6 day break off the Alice Springs game and the Dogs having an 8 day break playing their last game in Melbourne, we will have to be at our best to run it out. I wonder if they will look at fresh legs. After this game we have 9 days to the Pies.
  23. Our boys have clearly been on the bananas. Wow, just wow.
  24. Great report Vogon Poetry .
  25. Wow 33 scoring shots to 23 and we win.
