  1. Posted before today's game by me. "Correct, we are Melbourne, who lose games they should win." Can I nominate this for Demonland post of the year?
  2. Correct, we are Melbourne, who lose games they should win.
  3. Jack Trengove 13 8 21 8 0 3 2 4 0 0 92 Fair game.
  4. I thought he was poor again.
  5. He actually turned the ball over with nearly every possession. He had the chance to ice the game from 30, late in the last quarter and missed everything. Oob on the full and another turnover. I thought he was terrible and a mile off the seniors. Yes I know he is coming back from injury, but if that is his disposal, goodnight.
  6. That would be a 50.
  7. If it was last week, the umpires would have reported our whole team behind the mark, for bringing the game into disrepute.
  8. If Tom Mac plays, we have again gone in without a crumber. Tigers have 5 of them in the F50 and we have none. Now who is playing the better style of footy.
  9. Looks like Gaff is no chance then.
  10. No, they are permitted one on the mark and the rest of the team can do what they like behind him.
  11. Well I would cop Etihad instead of Darwin. We have to put winning games first and money will follow. This game just stuffs us up and it is for more than 1 week.
  12. Extremely strange as they saw what it did to us last week. I wonder if TMac is pulling out and they will play Spargo.
  13. Neither could Ringo, but he was still the drummer for the greatest band in the world. Weid is developing and most good players don't necessarily rip the VFL apart, as it is played somewhat differently and with less skill in passing the ball etc. I think Weid will be the regular 3rd key forward next year.
  14. Or just open your eyes. I recall a couple of years ago many thought Oscar hopeless. Today he is our main key back.
  15. Neither would I. Weid is on target to be a good player for us.
  16. Yeah superb bump, ran past the ball and with force bumped a bloke not expecting it and bruised his lung, which saw him coughing up blood. Extremely courageous act. Lucky not to connect with TMac's head, or it would have been weeks, even though it was not deemed worthy of a free kick to us, as was no other incident in our F50 the whole night, even though the ball was in our F50 twice the time of Port, who got multiple frees, 50's and suspect marks and goals. Sorry for the umpire rant I am still angry at them.
  17. Pies will not lose De Goey IMO. Pies will lose players to keep him and he will forego some cash, but IMO will not leave. He will sign a 2 year deal at less cash, say $800k per year, or a longer term one, if he is happy to forego the future offers that may come. Pies will try and pension Wells off and other players can be moved on as well. Hearing rumours about Moore going as well, but I think he will only go if they get another key forward. Hello Tom, even though the Tigers appear to be the leaders in his chase.
  18. When the ball comes into the F50 where are our smaller forwards placed and what are they doing? We don't need the big mark from Jesse or TMac to get all of our goals. Look at the 3 last quarter goals of Port for example, Sam Grey, Thomas and a Westhoff 50. We need the occasional chip kick into the F50 to a player making position, like other clubs do to us. Our smaller forwards seem to drift in and out of the game, while for example the Tigers small forwards stay involved, even without the ball, by performing the 1%'s, chase, tackle, knock on, make position, take your man away from the contest ( open up space) etc. To me our game plan going into the F50 (against good sides), combined with suspect skill under pressure and a lack of pace, is what is letting us down against the better sides.
  19. Looks like Greg has made better use of bananas than Elvis did, with his fried banana sandwiches.
  20. My question was a simple "Who do you see as our developing mids and half backs with pace and good disposal skills? Your answer above has nothing to do with my question. Probably no point in asking you any more then.
  21. Now we are talking, pardon the pun.
  22. Who do you see as our developing mids and half backs with pace and good disposal skills? As I have said before I am not as in love with Gaff as others and think he will probably stay anyway.
  23. Wow we butchered the ball on friday. Wonder if the bananas were off.
  24. Well ANB was certainly not on Motlop when ANB ran into goal and missed from 10 metres out, nor when he smashed a handball into Jones' face from 2 metres away, nor when he miskicked to teammates from 20 metres away twice, nor when he fumbled the ball a few times and nor when he dropped an easy mark. Might have played on him at some other stage of the game, not that I noticed it.
  25. Lists are constantly being turned over every year and I spoke about finding more skilled players, not sacking the whole list. Your comment that we had only 3 players in a finals like pressure game, who have played in finals is actually misleading. We have played in several games of finals like pressure recently, including QB and Anzac game, not to mention the last game last year and several others and most of the players playing friday also played in those games. We may have some good ball users, but we also play plenty who aren't. If the Recruiters take your lead we will never look for or get any. I also said we can hopefully develop our own improved ball use. I don't think blind loyalty in a club helps anyone when discussing the state of a club's list. You seem unwilling to concede that we need some more players with high skills and extra pace. I would have thought that was obvious.
