  1. That guarantees GWS the 2 players they want after GC obvious 2.
  2. Is that the end of us splitting now?
  3. I don't understand this, Freo could have taken 6 and done the same deal with GWS, unless they are trying to showoff to their fans.
  4. I wonder if GWS has approached us about pick 3. Would be strange to go for 4 without asking us what we will do with 3. Still think we are in the box seat.
  5. Hill for 6 is easy but then Howard, Jones, Ryder and Butler maybe, when their next pick is 59. I suppose the picks for Bruce and Steven could get Jones and Howard and Ryder could be 59 and Butler could be a 2020 pick. They have cap room and lose Bruce/Newnes/Steven and others to make more room.
  6. I don't know how the Saints will get all these players, Hill for 6 is easy but then Howard, Jones, Ryder and Butler maybe, when their next pick is 59. I suppose the picks for Bruce and Steven could get Jones and Howard and Ryder could be 59 and Butler could be a 2020 pick, so I guess I answered my own question. If they get all these players and then Ben King next year, they will be very dangerous. Carlton will also be a big improver if they add Papley, Martin and Betts/Butler, with their host of talented youngsters.
  7. I think King has told the Saints he will do what he can to join his brother next year. That is what I was told. That is why they won't keep Bruce, who they would only give one year to, because of Ben King. Most importantly though, speculate all you like about getting Ben King, but he is contracted and has to WANT to come to us before you can do any deal.
  8. 27 last June.
  9. Who knows, we don't leak these days.
  10. Saints will fold, as they are going all out next year to get Ben King and won't commit to more than one year for Josh Bruce. They also need salary cap room for the newbies Hill, Jones and whoever. If they get too smart they could shoot themselves in the foot.
  11. Hawks being asked for their second pick 30 for Patton. That is the pick I am sure we would want. Time to ask for Nash or another key forward from them.
  12. Examples please of 2018 changes he predicted.
  13. Looking like the Langdon deal might be more complicated than the Kelly one, which has already been completed.
  14. Currently we have one established key forward, one developing key forward and a few mid sized makeshift forwards. Unless we have another alternative, given the Crows paying most of his salary and costing a late pick, he is an easy fix to a problem, while looking for a longer term solution.
  15. Seriously their B&F and best in the GF. Time to think realistically.
  16. If that was the case and he is a late pick, it’s a steal and it gives us time to develop ours and recruit others. Would solve our needed extra key forward for a year or two.
  17. This in my daily AFL trade email. Melbourne: Sam Murray has been told he won't be at Collingwood next year and the Demons have been linked to the defender.
  18. They might be looking for a very late pick if anything. But you are right, as with every other player in every draft, if they are there at your pick you can take them, unless other teams have the right to match.

I love how we decide what we will give, when we aren't even being mentioned as in the race.

    Not as good as us.
  21. Especially at Annual Meetings. I recall our President at the time, swearing red and blue at the AGM, after being asked would we trade Phil Carman, that he would not be cleared and would definitely play with us the next year. Front page headline in the Sun the next morning, was that he had been cleared to Essendon, clearly before the AGM.
  22. They just kept Elliott, have Grundy and others looking for more money and have Howe, Langdon, Phillips, Aish, Scharenburg, Maynard, Quaynor etc off hbf. That is why.
  23. PIES DONE WITH MURRAY Collingwood has told banned defender Sam Murray that there won't be a spot on its list for him in 2020. As reported by AFL.com.au He is free to play AFL next season by his manager Nick Gieschen didn't say if there was interest from other clubs at this stage. Clubs on the lookout for a rebounding back-flanker could do a lot worse than Murray. From the AFL site.
  24. And I am with you brother.

North have the pick before Carlton. So if they have offered more and Papley wants the dollars, also since have a better pick, that makes it easier for Sydney to get Daniher.
