It has to be both. Is it any wonder a club that has for so long had limited financial resource and misfired in so many areas of the clubs management, also had a very poor track record in recruiting and player development. It would be unrealistic to expect anything else, and pretty much a miracle if we were getting our drafting spot on, and the club was a champion factory! It's unfortunately as much about where we have come from as a club unfortunately. Schwab said we were at Base Camp after debt demolition.....................it's clear that goes for all sections of the club.

Week long bender Ring talk back radio and slam every journo and commentator who kicked us while down Become an arrogant loud mouth supporter, who would give it to every other supporter I see Buy every piece of premiership memorabilia I could get my hands on Once I'd finally settled down after a month, start looking forward to going back to back!

This club and its supporters have dragged the club up off the canvas, and are setting about building a strong future. Sure, we are taking a few more hits now, but toughen up, and roll with the punches!

Who really cares what Matthews has to say, and even more so after 1 week of footy, Tuck your head in Leigh!

He seemed a little nervous at times, but composed himself well, and got better as things went on. He actually looked like he had a sore back, and couldn't get comfortable in his seat! It's been a tough week for the club, and especially him as coach....................a pretty unique set of circumstances for a rookie coach to take on. He'll get better as he goes along, and having a level head like Craig around is a great resource for him as a new coach.

As a club that was on its knees not all that long ago, and struggling in nearly every aspect a footy club can, did anyone actually expect by some miracle that we had an elite level recruiting and talent identification team at the club??????? As a result, I think slamming Cameron and Prendergast in isolation is a little unfair, however I think overall it looks like our drafting over the past 5-7 years looks very ordinary.

Cannot believe this is true, and if it was there's a simple fix.................drop those who refuse to follow the coaches requests until they comply, and if necessary, tell the media the reasons why. Surely no player or group of players could be so stupid. Watching and hearing Brad Green on The Sunday Footy Show, I don't get the impression he would carry on like this.

You're going to have to sit tight, we are a long long way away from being a team we can boast about! You're not expecting too much as a supporter, but it's unrealistic expectation of this group. That James Magner can come into our side for his first game straight from the VFL and be our best for the day highlights exactly where we are at with our list!

Condolences to the Stynes family, and all his friends...........RIP Jimmy, a great man has been lost today, but what a great life he lead, and what a legacy he has left the MFC! How lucky we are as members and supporters to have had a such an amazing person a part of our club. You will never be forgotton.

With all due respect Thomo, anyone / club can lock in a sponsor for the sake of doing so. The Energywatch deal has been a record sponsorship for the MFC and one of the biggest in the AFL..............it's value is greater than the Hankook and Kaspersky deals combined over the same timeframe. After the club secured a record deal for the back of the jumper, why would they now simply give away the front of jumper space????? Just because a few misguided supporters feel uneasy about starting the season without a front of jumper sponsor????? If anything, getting such a great result with Energywatch has probably made it a lot harder to land a similar deal for the front......................sponsors prepared to spend up to that level would be few and far between, and if the MFC simply gave away the front of jumper spot at a much lower rate, they run the risk of putting Energywatch off side in the process. I absolutely agree with his comments that he is glad some on here aren't handling the negotiations.................................I love the fact that football is all encompassing these days, and members and supporters are up to date with nearly every aspect of their clubs.............the level of engagement has never been higher, but there is a lot of crap on here written about how the club should and shouldn't be managed, and a lot of comments made that either don't make sense, or would be diabolical if ever put in place. You can't honestly expect our CEO to start detailing the state of discussions with potential sponsors on a public website like this. The most accutely aware person on the planet regarding the MFC sponsorship situation at present is our CEO.................let him do his job. As a member, and just another red and blue face in the crowd each week, from the outside looking in, I reckon we have a cracking CEO running the club at present, and am more than comfortable if he deems it the best course of action to wait for the right deal for the MFC...............he is in the best position to know, not us.

According to Mark Robinson on AFL360 tonight, MFC had no knowledge of the Jurrah interview with McGuire until there were sms's getting around that Jurrah would be on the show, and the MFC are apparently not too happy about it. How does that even happen?

I like it..................if they were sitting on the interchange bence wearing them to keep warm during a game, then I'd say we've lost the plot, but for special functions etc I reckon it's a great idea. I like traditions, and things that remember the past........especially when it comes to footy clubs!
