  1. Emma Quayle reporting Lisle to Brisbane deal as good as done!
  2. Rule Hankook out for next year too.....................Lawrie Delarue has now lost the distribution rights for Hankook effective April 2012.
  3. Clark probably wouldn't come if he knew Fev was!
  4. Absolutely spot on! Years of living in draft pick land have blurred the reality for some.
  5. If pick 12 and 16 is what it took to get Ottens to Geelong, then 12 and a compo pick isn't far off the mark for Clark. Maybe slightly overs, but considering the lack of other options, that's to be expected.
  6. Easy way to shut Denham up...........win finals, and flags..................over to you MFC! Well done to those few MFC supporters who rang up and took him to task as well......................great to hear!
  7. Can I suggest anyone seriously thinking we should pick up O'Hailpin be committed! We may as well get Brad Miller back if we are going down that path!
  8. I'd like to see him stay at the club................not the best player in the team, but is an honest player, and we have a serious shortage of them at the minute.
  9. Right decision for all involved. It would have been easy for Mick to sit there and collect top coin in a director role, but it clearly isn't him, and he has been honest enough with himself and the club to leave. No one can knock his record..........3 flags, and 3 other GF appearances is a fine effort. Can't say I'm unhappy he missed out on a 4th though!
  10. I went to the Pies v Hawks prelim, and was forced to endure the pathetic droning "Collingwood" chant over and over and hear 10 renditions of Good old Collingwood forever while being held up on the foot bridge by a mob who were doing a pregame march to the G from the Westpac Centre. I thought I hated them before, this just tipped over the edge...............I was cheering like a Cat fan today..............just a brilliant win.......great to see Collingwood cop that today, but also absolute respect for Geelong as a club and players who lost their coach and best player, and still delivered a result like that! Selwood and Bartel.............what absolute stars, champion players in every sense of the word! Great win Cats, and what a great club!
  11. I hope those abusing get a warm fuzzy feeling for doing so. For the life of me I can't understand what that achieves...........a simple "no thanks" is all it takes, but that must be a stretch for some. I got a call from them last night, and the guy was very friendly, not at all pushy, and when I said "no thanks" that was the end of it.
  12. Spot on Dees64...............we've come a long way since 2008, and we shouldn't lose sight of that! Off field it's all happening.........it's up to the players now!
  13. I've got a couple of baby seal pups that need clubbing if a few of the Burgo bashers want to take them on too! Regarding Burgan, I have to say, I rate the bloke! Comes across as very down to earth, and easy going..........knows his stuff, and overall seems like a decent guy. Give me Matt Burgan over some of the other smug tossers in the media everyday of the week!
  14. I don't quite get the "too many cheifs" sentiment. So Collingwood can have a Mick Malthouse or Rodney Eade or whoever else ends up in that role as a mentor/resource to Bucks, the same with Thompson for Hird, etc etc..............but for the MFC, we now have too many chiefs. Take a look at some of the football departments at other clubs......................we aren't top heavy, we are finally catching up!!!! I would have thought the injection of talent, experience, and professionalism being injected into the FD should be roundly applauded, not talked down. Really, what has changed In: Craig, Neeld, Misson, Rawlings, Satterley, Greaves Out: Bailey, West, Williams, Connolly, Hocking, Apart from Neil Craig, and the new supporting line coaches, we haven't exactly gone bezerk on spending. Ross Lyon for $1M a season, or Neeld & Craig for a similar or slightly higher amount? It could be argued that Connolly should have been let go if he was no longer needed in the FD, and it appears as though they have found him a job, but other than that, I don't see anything reckless being done. Time will tell whether this new structure works but, I fail to see how there can be any negativity at this stage with the appointments.
  15. Great work MFC! Super impressed by the way they have gone about restructuring the FD...........time will tell whether it will bring success, but some seriously well credentialled people are joining the club, and that's a real positive!
  16. There's two sides to every story, and maybe it wasn't what he had done wrong or had to improve, but simply that more talented players had gone past him, and were playing each week, and there was no place in the team for him.
  17. I like it, and the players shouldn't be suprised if it was that blunt!
  18. Great to hear he is on tonight................some of the other players they get on are dead set morons..........Travis Cloke being the worst!
  19. Absolutely! For what he contributed to the rich history of the MFC, it's as though he was never even there!
  20. It's positive to see the new coach given what he needs to get the job done. It's also a delicate balance too...............the Synes administration has done a great job in unifying the club again, and had many Melbourne people return when the club needed people to stand up, Connolly included. Now setting fire to guys like Connolly, and coldly kicking them out the door would be a step backwards. I think this is a good outcome for the club longer term.
  21. Sheedy is a peanut, and has the gig at GWS for side show value only. I have no doubt he has it in for the MFC, and I'm glad he never got the job with us..............he was on the nose at the Bombers, and that's why they cut him loose...........and he never would have gone down the youth path Bailey did with the list, he would have tried to top up with rejects, and we would be sitting here today bemoaning the fact we ever let him step foot inside the MFC.
  22. Go Dees..............exciting times ahead!
  23. Absolutely agree........and certainly as a club, we have needed to walk before we can run financially to be able afford such appointments. Hopefully in the future, the role Bailey played will be considered a valuable one for the club.
  24. You're right, it looks as though some of areas of weakness are starting to seriously be addressed..............wonder how Bails feels about this!
