The idea of not playing players who have indicated their future lies elsewhere is short sighted, and appears to be a big part of why players don't come out and flag their intentions earlier. AFL appears to be stuck in between the old and new when it comes to player movement at the moment, and it simply causes too much heartburn for all parties involved.

That's true, however you can't expect there to be no cheap shots considering the original debate raged on forever. Some will feel vindicated, and others cheated. It will die down pretty quickly.

Only a few years ago, we were on the edge of the survival cliff again, and staring at an uncertain future. Things have been turned around remarkedly. You don't go from being on the brink of oblivion to on and off field perfection in such a short space of time. The problems the club faced were huge.........but there's only one way to eat an elephant.......in thin slices! The elephant is only half eaten, and unfortunately there's been some indigestion along the way, but the new MFC has an appetite having been starved for so long, and they will get the job done! Think of the Scully dilemma as the MFC having swallowed a chicken bone, which is causing a little discomfort, but will be coughed up shortly. It really make little difference if he stays or goes.............number 1 draft picks don't equal premierships......smart recruiting, coaching, resources, etc etc do. A Judd-less Eagles are top 4, as are an Ablett-less Cats. The future is bright with or without the chicken bone!

Spot on Nasher..........Warnock hasn't been playing because he hasn't been the best available, and others have gone past him. Can understand him wanting to move on, but really surplus to needs for us apart from depth.

I hope there is something to this story! Getting Ross Lyon would be a major coup for the club. Coaches don't come under the salary cap, so perhaps he has been given an offer he simply cannot refuse.

Gareth, this is utter garbage! How can anyone have shame in having formed a personal opinion??? History is littered with lies being told to serve self interest.........pardon others for having an alternate view on things to you! If supporters were booing him or bringing banners to the calling him a traitor, then fair enough, but sharing an opinion with other supporters on an online forum is nothing like knifing him. No supporter has hurt the club over this issue. If you want to follow a club with like minded morons, follow the Pies!
