  1. Reckon there are 3 of the current top 8 spots up for grabs, all of Richmond, Freo and WC are very shaky and not deserving of finalists. Tiges might slip in but I can`t see either WA teams making. WC can`t win in Melbourne and are now losing them at home. Get Max and Jesse back and ww can steam into the eight.
  2. I`m staggered at the amount of people that left Oliver out of their best 6. 21 of his 28 possessions were contested (next best on the field was 14) Also the most clearances of all players with 11. (Lyons had 9, next best was 5!)
  3. If we`d have won just one of our 5 winnable losses, we`d be 4th on the ladder this evening. Considering we`ve done it without a ruckman for the majority of the losses, we are in a pretty good space right now.
  4. Nah this hit I`m talking about was 2nd qtr I believe. HBF just in front of MCC. Didnt see the centre scuffle but that match had the most spotfires I`ve seen in one match for a long, long time.
  5. He definitely clocked him, but it was very minimal contact. Pretty sure he got a free kick for it and probably all it deserved other than maybe a fine. With the changes they are going to make, he`d likely cop a week next week though!
  6. I still see them making finals. Their injured players are back and their midfield is back playing their best, maybe aside from Parker. Look out if they sneak in the 8!
  7. How the hell was that not "ball" before that goal??
  8. RIP Chris Cornell. Another legend gone too soon. Very sad.
  9. I reckon 12 wins gets us into the final 8 this year, so if we go 8 - 6 from here we will play finals. I can't see any teams giving us a flogging so our % will be healthy. I expect finals but I'm not looking any further than that just yet. Our best is as good as anyone's though!
  10. Agree Doc. This has danger game written all over it. The boys were awesome against Crows but how much of that was inspired by Jesse? Can we bring that same intensity? We are raging favourites and we know how that usually ends up. Kangas have not been bad at all, they buried The Crows too and got beaten by a Swans outfit who look like the have found there mojo again. I feel about the same as I did against The Hawks all week. Pretty confident, but unsure which Melbourne shows up in the first quarter! We should win though!
  11. One thing that stands out for me aside from the sublime skills and brute strength this bloke has, is how unselfish he is. Quite often someone as silky skilled is likely to be pretty selfish at times. Not Trac, he is always getting others involved in the game. Currently equal 2nd for goal assists in the league. Impressive!
  12. Grown on me too, not sure what all the hoohar was about. Still, I wish we didnt require them at all...like Collingwood.
  13. Round 1 was the traditional front with red on the back!
  14. Good post Lampers. Our forwardline looks like a dogs breakfast at times but we are consistently kicking 100 points or close to it, without any huge input from Jesse. I have no doubt he will go on to become one of the great forwards of the modern era, but right now I reckon we play him off the wing. He gets double teamed or worse at times and I don't think we have the support for him down there just yet to deal with it, thus we see the poor body language at times and dummy spits. Jesse has shown he goes quite OK up the ground in bursts when he moves upfield. I can see him do a Richo/Riewoldt and run rings around his opponent and set up countless I50s. Swing him forward to change a game when required, ala TMac last night.
  15. I`m struggling to think of a more exciting kid in my lifetime to make such an impact in his first 20 games in the red and blue. I`m trying to come up with names but none appear.
  16. Yeah we have rarely done it in decades Wadda, and never in the Roos era. There were many times in recent years where the match was screaming to pull a few moves like last nights to turn a game and it worked in spades.
  17. Hawthorn last year Round 20 or thereabouts. Definitely a watershed moment, Adelaide may have hit a little rut but they will not lose many games at AO this year. And the main reason this win against Adelaide is bigger is the way we changed the game mid 2nd qtr. The match had pantsing written all over it and you could hear the party time expectation in the crowd. The turnaround was epic. We simply MUST bring that intensity to the table against North this weekend as I expect we will be favourites which history tells us does not bode well for us. The rot has to stop now and we need to win this game comfortably if we are to be taken seriously.
  18. Dunno about leave him there but he may well be becoming one of those swingmen we`ve lacked for more years than I can remember.
  19. Very proud to be a Dee today, had to pinch myself this morning! One thing I loved more than anything were the moves by Goodwin. TMac helped turn the game up forward, did some great things other than kick 2 good goals. Trac in the middle was massive. Even Hannan in middle was a surprise, he didnt sent the world on fire but he did get involved. Bernie`s tag sensational and Jettas job on Betts, unbelievable. I can`t even do the votes, its too bloody hard. Oliver you are possibly the most exciting kid I can ever remember in my nearly half century years. AND our leaders.....all of them stood up and dragged the kids along with them. A spine tingling win!
  20. North Melb 38,128 St.Kilda 39,760 We are going pretty well all things considered.
  21. Pretty sure he played for Casey last w/end Red
