Luke Jackson's last quarter
Iโm not sure how many people questioning the goal kicking (rightly so) were at The G , but there was a pretty constant strong breeze all day. It swirls inside the stadium and many times the ball came off the boot straight and then went rapidly in a complete different direction to the flags on the scoreboard. Both teams had the same problem. Iโll hazard a guess โMental Demonsโ wasnโt at the ground this weekend.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
Our best aggressor is AVB and we often play well when heโs aggressive but heโs no longer best 22. He had a real poor 2020 and has fallen a fair way back Iโd say. Viney back in will add some mongrel and to a lesser extent Melksham who at least stands up for his teammates but again had a real poor 2020 and is borderline best 22 now. May of course will never take a backward step. Other than that yep we are a pretty โniceโ team. A far cry from 2018 when I reckon our physicality won games of footy.

CHANGES: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Agree, Viney in for Jones and Harmes stays in and follows Jack Steele around all day. If heโs not tagging Iโm not sure what he offers any more. Would not be upset with Chandler in for Sparrow either but these younger guys should be given a few games in a row, dropping after one game does nothing for development, probably stalls it if anything!

Ladder After Round 1
Gold Coast will be knocking on the 8 come seasons end. Probably win today if Rowell didnโt go down so early. Some serious talent.

POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
Just got home from the G, so good to be back. A truly ugly win but we have lost them in the past and never really looked like losing bar the first few minutes. May n Lever superb. Thought Spargo was real important today and I think weโve all seen enough to know that last years rookies , Riv, Kozzie and LJ will all be stars of the game. just wanted to add the crowd of 21k was extremely disappointing for a first match live in 18 months, disgrace really.

TEAMS: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
Agree with this, particularly with Jones n Jetta, they will look painfully slow with this quicker game we are witnessing. Both defences will dominate the forwards, to me the game is won by whoever can convert their opportunities from turnovers across the backline, something that hasnโt ended at all well for us against fast teams. I think for pace these 2 teams will be pretty even.

GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs Fremantle
I am Premium and I donโt believe they are available currently as they have to allocate seating at time of booking and guest passes are thru the club not ticketek. Iโm taking my 2 boys who are standard members but we are sitting away from my usual area on level 2.

NON MFC: Rd 01 2021
Jeremy Cameron could miss a month with a hammy from training

Medical Sub
No, only from concussion the way I understand it! Both players could play next week as they were not concussed which I donโt agree with.

Mark Williams Interview
I reckon M Voss will turn into an excellent coach after his first failure , he just seems a very driven individual. Will probably happen in the coming years as he has had a fair apprenticeship with Port now.

Mark Williams Interview
https://foxsports.com.au/afl/extigers-assistant-mark-williams-says-he-hasnt-spoken-with-damien-hardwick-since-sacking/news-story/1c5a497bc05a2ef29813ab0e57ba42fe Came as a shock to him at the end of 2016. Had a great relationship with players though.

Mark Williams Interview
For 3-4 years now a lot of footy experts have rated our playing list very highly but we have continued to underperform. Maybe someone like Choco has been the missing ingredient. He is an old school motivator, very direct when itโs required but very likeable. I distinctly remember how much the Tiges players loved him when he was there not that long ago, as the club began its transformation from laughing stock to benchmark. As others have said he could be the best signing our club has made in years.

Making Their Mark - Amazon Prime Documentary
Yeah Iโm loving it 4 episodes in! The respect and buy/in Dimma gets from his boys is impressive. Have always liked Eddie Betts but this show makes you like him even more. Nicnat is a very cool dude too. Heโs a rockstar and he knows it but still very down to earth

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Adelaide
I just commented to a markcโ s daughter I wish the men would play with that sort of heart! That was Swooper Northey era type footy.

AFLW: Rd 07 vs Adelaide
Most spirited performance in a Dees jumper since Elim Final v Geelong 2018. Thoroughly enjoyable to watch.
