In professional sport, it is all about winning. Ask any past, current or prospective AFL player and I'm sure they'd tell you that winning Premierships is the ultimate goal and that individual awards, while nice, are not what they strive for.

No, stuff it. Enough of the negativity, the doom and gloom and pessimism, the whining and moaning, thinking that the AFL and the umpires have it in for us, that we never have any luck, the self pitying and all that feeble-minded talk of curses, upsetting the footy gods, tempting fate and all that superstitious nonsense. The time is now. 2021 is our year. Be positive, have belief, support our boys, think like a winner, embrace success and enjoy life as a Melbourne supporter. Go Demons.

It's time we reclaimed this negative acronym, make it our own and wear it with pride. My proposal is that, henceforth, we assign the following meaning to the term: Melbourne Football Club September Specialists
