I think you'll find that once the list has been settled after the National draft and/or preseason draft you'll find these details will be updated prior to the start of next season. I think the club have better things to do than letting supporters (and the opposition) that some players have put on a few kilo's here or there during the season. My kids (boys 5 & 3 and a girl 6 months) are all 3rd generation Melbourne supporters. The most rewarding thing I find is going to games with them. I agree with most is getting them a guernsey and putting a number on the back. 3 years ago my eldest boy picked #6 as he met and came to live Bater. Unfortunately, somehow, I'm going to have to break it to him that Bater is no longer wearing number 6 and not playing for the Dees. My younger bloke has picked 11... Nice choice if you ask me. All my kids, including my wife are all Melbourne supporters and members. We go as many weeks as possible. The drive from Traralgon takes about 2 hours, so I get the boys excitement levels up by awarding a prize to who can see the MCG first! Obviously wins have been far and few between, but luckily they aren't old enough to know better yet! Best days for us are when my father comes along with us too. It's a great family day out for us! My biggest concern about our ruck stocks is Spencer. I can't watch him play especially when he has the ball in his hands. He can't kick and looks so unsure. Although, his ruck work is pretty solid. Gippy

Exactly the same happened against Freo at Etihad. We were up and about that day. Freo broke us with fitness and having Jamar and Bennell go down with harsh injuries killed us in the end. Gippy

I personally think its time we get ourselves a proper midfield coach. Brian Royal, whilst having been a good stalwart as an assistant coach for the past 10 - 15 years, has had the game pass him and I beleive that we need someone new with game changing approaches to midfield setups. He isn't doing that with Melbourne. I'm not saying that it is all his fault but I don't see him lighting the game up in this regard. Just my thoughts, Gippy

Great in depth post TD! Being a Gippslander I've never had the opportunity to go to a training session before but can only wonder what goes on at these sessions. I really can't wait to see us get into it for real in the next weeks and months to come... I just want it to happen!!!! Quietly optimistic for the oncoming 2012 season. I think every Melbourne supporter/member has reason to be trying to keep a lid on things at the moment. Too many times have we been sold Rolex only to find out its a Thailand special 'Wolex'. Gippy

Reports from twitter are saying that Woodside Energy have extended their sponsorship deal with Fremantle for a further 4 years, taking their partnership out til the end of the 2016 season! Where do you get one of these sponsors from. I do wish we can get someone we can have a long term arrangement with. How long have the Cats had Ford as a major sponsor??? Gippy

Good thread Bobby! Was a great exercise. Been having discussions with my sister who she should get on her jumper for 2012. She's leaning towards no 4 and no 9. I advised her of the history of these jumpers to try and sway her decision. She loves Jack Watts tho... :-) Gippy
