  1. If I was an AFL Footballer I wouldn't be lurking in an Internet Forum... But if I was in this situation I wouldn't walk. Too much to lose. Then again I'm very loyal to those that are loyal to me. I love the Dees, but I can still have a soft spot for them. I recently just finished reading Kevin Sheedy's book 'Stand Your Ground'. Even as a child he was an Essendon supporter and had a soft spot when he was playing with the Tiges. Incidently he was also a fan of the Demons when he was younger also. Patience allowed him to coach at his Boyhood club after retirement and coach them successfully for 27 years. But he does go on to say that he will always be grateful for being a one club player especially in a time when Richmond were at their most successful. Unrelated, if I was Cameron Bruce I would be taking the one year deal with the Dees, Working my butt off to ensure that I get another season into me and not listening to my pain-in-the-arse Manager Ricky Nixon. In fact, I would be looking for a new manager right now... Gippy
  2. The fact that Newton is an option is a joke. I chose Davey, Jurrah, Scully, JT & Green. If you can fit two more in with Jones and the Russian. Gippy
  3. To be honest, instead of this being a dilemma this should be a good news story. Bit of a beat up by Mark Stevens. TH and his gang will have it all sorted to ensure we have the right formula to get the KP players that we need. Once again, no need to panic. Gippy
  4. Panic Stations!!!! Bruce has left! Honestly, bringing Junior back wouldn't be the right message that we want to give to our up and comers that we can't rely onthem to step up. Reeks of desperation. Gippy
  5. My rumblings (Being a Gippslander you know people who know people) at that Royal had had enough with Ross Lyon and had a pretty big fallout. Sounds familiar to others that the Saints coach has worked with. It has been said that Lyon does burnout his assistants. I wonder if this is to his own peril or to prolong his own jeopardy. I'm glad that he's back. I actually met Choko whilst he was Assistant in his first stint and he seems pretty down to earth and very motivated. Good pickup IMHO. Gippy
  6. I'm from Traralgon, Bushy. I have found a few Gippslanders on here! Gippy
  7. Brian is a very good Assistant Coach and personally I think he has been unlucky not to get a top job over the years. But as a development coach and as an assistant, he's very good. Pretty happy with this pick up. Plus he's a Gippslander, so whats not to like? Gippy
  8. I think you'll find that the MCC won't allow it. Or will be pretty against it. Can you imagine trying to spot a ball playing cricket with the lights and images moving on the advert boards??? I couldn't think of anything more annoying as a cricketer! Gippy
  9. I'm the same! I'm 27 and I go with the old man, and my little bloke. It's great that we can all go and watch our boys play! I dream of the day all three of us can watch the Dees play in a premiership! I feel giddy just thinking about it! Gippy
  10. How freaking exciting is this??? Brilliant! Todd will be great and has some good pedigree with the Hawks and Adelaide. Still means that the void that Sean Wellman is still vacant. The mind does ponder. Gippy
  11. I don't know. I tend to think also that Danny just needs a chance. I don't know if you got to see him against the doggies, but he kept working hard in pretty wet and slippery conditions and took some good marks. Agreed tho that he isn't a KPP as he is a bit small, but I see some potential in him (Given the chance...) Gippy
  12. Where is that 'Storm in a teacup' picture I've seen before? Gippy
  13. For me, he needs more muscle for a 24 y/o. He's still skinny as... we really need someone up front who can bust packs and be dependable, of which I don't think Justin Westoff is... Gippy
  14. My last memory of Justin Sherman was watching him get run down by Paul Johnson on the wing in our 1 point win over them in 2008. This doesn't leave a good vibe for me. Especially when a ruckman can run down a so called 'Midfielder'. A no for me. Gippy
  15. Gee, the pressure will be on the Doggies if we roll them next week. (Not getting ahead of myself seeing as we play North tomorrow). They will be kicking themselves seeing as the Dogs are supposed to be 'Premiership Contenders'. Gippy
  16. It's funny you know because the NRL version 'The Matty Johns Show' is so much better than this garb. Get rid of it already... Geez...
  17. Your Right... expect Juice to come out and kick a bag against the bottom side with little to no backline. I really think that he is wasting our time. I would much prefer big Stef Martin up forward than Juice, pure fact being that there is potential in the kid. Then again, he could kick a bag of 6 or 7... but only at Casey. Gippy
  18. We sit behind the goals every time we go. Great atmosphere with being close to the cheer squad. I'll admit it isn't the best veiwing point, but it is also where a lot of magic happens. In the past three years i've experienced the one point win against Brisbane and last week was the second only win I've experienced whilst sitting there! We aren't part of the cheer squad, but it's good. Love the lovely ladies that go around doing the 'first goal kicker' and 'winning margin' comp. It's become a regular thing for my family (including my old man who is a AFL Member too). Gippy
  19. Libba would have to be one of the worst mongrels I've seen on field. He used to give me and the opposing team the s*#ts... But he was good at it for so long. And there was that game against Richmond where he sniped Matty Knights... that was certainly a memorable one. Gippy
  20. I can't beleive that Yze Magic hasn't piped up about this one? I was a great fan of Bruce early. I think he's in his twiglight years. Although that doesn't mean he can't clean up his performances. Improvement should be a continual focus even if your winding up your career. Gippy
  21. Thats exactly what they are. Both the MCG and Ethihad Stadium use them. As mentioned in the previous post, both grounds get very little natural sunlight during the winter due to the build up staduim around them. The 'Solarium's' so to say ensure that grass gets what it needs during the winter. Gippy
  22. I've got alot of man love for the Russian. Whatever you do, don't tell the wife. Gippy
  23. I'm sorry. Did you actually say that Newton 'deserves' an opportunity? For doing what exactly? Gippy
  24. I enjoyed hearing Ox getting excited about the Dees. He loves the Dees, and he'd love to see us up and flying again. Gippy
  25. I'm guessing no one suspected that the Roos would beat Geelong. It was a gutsy win by the Roos. I liked the game of Warren and Goldstein. More importantly, if we get through tonight, we'll play the Roos and not Geelong. Surely our chances of advancing further look a lot better without the cats in the draw. Thoughts? Gippy
