  1. Great quote JV7 .... thanks for sharing. A 'four quarter' win over the Hawks and no injuries, will have them brimming with confidence and ready to attack the rest of the season.
  2. If we could have seen Clarry's current season record before round 1, I reckon most of us would have thought that 'Max must be having a great season'. To think that he has achieved what he has on the back of mostly second, third, fourth and even fifth string ruckmen is phenomenal.
  3. As an interstate member, Demonland is my 'football lifeblood'. Long may it flourish .................... and of course it will, with a little support from us avid Demons!
  4. 6. Watts 5. Pedersen 4. Oliver 3. Lewis 2. Petracca 1. Frost
  5. I've graduated from 'woe is me' to quietly confident about our prospects as the week has progressed. The team selections (both sides), and a slightly longer break, give us a bit of an edge imo, and I think we can play harder for longer and get over the line ........ but Tracc needs to be 100%. He could be the difference if it goes down to the wire, I reckon.
  6. Ripper interview wit Nev : 100 games: Neville Jetta So self effacing ....... such a team player.
  7. On the other hand, at half time the Dogs are doing what we must do on Sunday .................. (most likely) get beaten in the ruck but clearly win the stoppages / contested ball,
  8. Up until an hour ago, I had a forlorn feeling about this game, but after reading Deespicable's post (161) and listening to Goody's Friday presser (words about "trying some new things" in relation to our rucks and mids; his "confidence at ground level"; and his excitement to have Lewis back, in part because of the leadership he brings), my confidence is being rejuvenated. For the first time since last Monday evening, I'm starting to look forward to this game.
  9. Of those two, I reckon it was us by a fair margin. But the big loser was probably WCE with a third sibling Travis(?)
  10. Damien Gaspar
  11. I hope your confidence (an mine) is better placed than it was on Anzac eve Steven. Actually, on reflection I reckon our confidence proved to be pretty well placed ........... it just didn't take account of s#!t luck.
  12. Prima facie, Neville's football attributes don't stack up well for today's AFL, but he has made himself into one of the best small defenders going around. Just shows what opportunity, perseverance, the right attitude and hard work will do. Congratulations Nev ........ an ornament to the game and your community.
  13. Beautifully put LH. Strength to Jesse and his family.
  14. Zac Jones is a solid and still developing footballer with some upside, but I think our priorities lie elsewhere. Some outside class and a forward /ruck should be high on our 'want list', and I doubt that we would be interested in Zac, despite some sentimental attraction.
  15. Nup. As deever says, the glass is still half full ............ and we are about to fill it to the brim (without spilling a drop).
  16. I gotta endorse that deever, and the good times can't help but get better over the next few years! And don't forget to join the Podcasts .... a fantastic addition.
  17. I was leaning towards giving King a try in the ruck because it would have least impact on our forward / back half structures. However, after reading Plappy's review of his VFL game on the weekend, it's clear that he's not ready at this stage ....... very promising first-up performance, but still on limited match time. Plappy on "Mitch King: He had seven disposals, 28 hit outs and five tackles in his first game in over 12 months. It was his first game back after his knee injury, which happened in the first game of the VFL season last year. We were delighted with his first-up performance, playing in the ruck. He really jumped at the ball and his follow-up work was very strong. Mitch is another player who is going to take a bit of time to build him back into full match time. We were really bullish about his return". Back to Plan A for me I guess (Pedersen with Watts or Frost pinch hitting), but I really dislike the impact this will have on our structures. Is your mate Dec a chance to come in and help out Drunkn? At least he seems to offer some flexibility,
  18. I'm worried that losing the last three games after being reasonably placed to win them, as well as the loss of key personnel (particularly rucks) will leave our players 'flat' in the short term. They have given everything for zero reward, and this could be deflating, and in games where one or two percent could be the difference between winning and losing, it could be costly. Hopefully I just have a dose of the old MFCSS!
  19. You should've called it quits, and had an early night 'bub. Hope you're feeling better this morning.
  20. I found it extremely difficult to separate my top three. A lot was asked of them, and they did the red and blue proud in demanding circumstances. The next tier was also difficult, and a few were unlucky not to feature. 6. Oliver 5. Watts 4. Hibberd 3. Hunt 2. Jetta 1. Petracca
  21. Can't help be proud of the boys. They were the 'walking wounded' (well those who could still stand and walk anyway) and gave everything they had to give. I'm obviously bitterly disappointed with the loss, but our boys showed a ton of character, which will take them a long, long way as the kids get games under their belt.
  22. There's no justice in football!!
  23. Things I'd like to hear? Easy! The final siren with Melbourne in front!
  24. Very quickly become bored by the incessant criticism of our team selection decisions on Demonland.
  25. Agree totally McQueen. Arguably, Richmond's best win so far this year was against WCE at the G, and having just watched the previously winless Hawks demolish the Eagles at the same venue, it's clear that Richmond have had a fairly accommodating draw to date. I'm confident of a win, and a margin of 6 goals+ wouldn't surprise.
