Found this an inspiring article. It confirms the positive views I formed about our coach in the early days, and reinforces what I have seen as the year has evolved. Great stuff!

I can only conclude that you havn't closely watched too many MFC games over the last 3 to 4 seasons. It's an insult to Greeny for you to suggest that he is only now attacking the ball because he (selfishly) wants to be part of the leadership group.

Some great ideas emerging here, and I'll happily back the preferred direction with my hard earned $s. All I'd ask in return is for the Club to keep us loyal members informed about progress. Something simple like the membership thermometer would be fine, so long as it is properly maintained. (I also felt miffed about the brick. We never found out how much was raised, or as far as I recall, how the $s were used).

Ricky was interviewed at the Demons after match function on Monday, and said that he hoped to play 75% of the match with the Zebra 2s next week.

Agree. Showing promise and improving with experience and self belief as the coach shows the confidence to play him against the big guns. Ditto for Warnock. For me it's exciting that they both have pretty good decision making and disposal skills ..... much better than we have seen for a damn long time from our taller defenders (Riv. excepted). Great credit to Bails for sticking with these kids, in spite of all the knockers. Promise of things to come, especially considering that it usually takes a few years for tall defenders to hit their straps!

I hate bagging our players, but I have to admit that I agree with a lot of Franky's assessment of Jeff White yesterday. Perhaps the fact that he was resuming from a back complaint is some excuse for what appeared to us observers as easy options and lack of interest.

Agree with you about Wheater's kick ins, but I'd love for him to be given more time up near the middle, where his booming kicks into the forward line could be even more damaging to the opposition.

I'd love to see Sylvia doing the kick ins. Belly certainly isn't the answer here ... too indecisive, and doesn't have the pin-point disposal needed for this task.

I have written twice to the AFL (the second letter was addressed personally to Demetriou). Didn't even do me the courtesy of acknowledging my correspondence, let alone responding to the concerns I raised about promoting the AFL in the traditionally non-AFL regions. I live in Canberra and last year we had the even more ridiculous situation of both free to air TV and Foxtel broadcasting the Melbourne v Swans game that was played at Manuka Oval! Not confident that it will do any good, but I'd hapilly pin my name to a petition. I'm sure members of the Canberra Demons would do likewise.
