PODCAST: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Really looking forward to the Pod, as always guys. Please solve the following dilemmas so that I can sleep easy tonight: * Tommo found himself in âno manâs landâ far too often vs the Hawks, and is âtreacle slowâ. I really worry about how he will hold up in September! On the other hand, he seems pivotal to freeing up Rick Lever, to play his intercept role to perfection, as he did on the weekend. Is playing Tommo a compromise that we will just have to âwearâ, because he is our best available option? * TMac played a solid game for Casey on the weekend, in only his second game back from an extended injury break. Fritta seems likely to return for the Sydney game, and is an automatic selection, when right. Melks has been excellent as both a defensive and goal kicking forward in Frittaâs absence. Joel Smith adds something âdifferentâ to our forward line, with his pace and attack in the ball. Given that the Sydney game is our only âdress rehearsalâ before the Finals, who plays and who misses out next weekend? I donât think we can play all of them together in finals.

VOTES: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
6. Lever - outstanding intercepting game. Possibly saved our bacon. 5. Melksham - fantastic as a defensive and attacking forward. 4. Rivers - fantastic again, and going from strength to strength. 3. Neal-Bullen - anyone who criticises his disposal today is a âbumâ. 2. Brayshaw - purely and simply a work-horse, and did almost everything right. 1. Viney - another âlead by example / heart & soulâ game from our VC Apols: Sparrow, Langdon, McVee

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Carlton
As we approach September, the Demonland pod takes on even more significance to adoring Demon fans. Keep up the great work guys! My question, which is probably already covered above: IMO, finding our optimal forward line mix will be a key to how far we can progress in September. What does this mix look like, given current form and player availability?

Vale Jeff Hilton
I remember Jeff as a real âgoerâ on the footy field. Incredibly sad to learn that he is no longer with us. Vale Jeff.

Which hated player would you love to love at the Dees?
Toby Greene by the length of the Flemington strait. The epitome of love him but hate him!

Very poor representations imo. Both Râmond and Câwood have teeth, just for starters.

VOTES: Rd 21 vs North Melbourne
6. Gawn: fittingly, the âsupremoâ in âRuck Roundâ. 5. Petracca: the âdynamoâ with the power to consistently change things up, when needed 4. Viney: continued to carry our midfield on his broad shoulders in the absence of Clarry. 3. Brayshaw: love the consistency he is providing as a mid. 2. Pickett: the magic is still there, and the gameday âinfluenceâ is returning at the right time of the year. 1. Neal-Bullen: the usual âNibblerâ work rate, with 3 goals to boot. Very, very unlucky: Hunter Very unlucky: Chandler

PODCAST: Rd 20 vs Richmond
Context: Hibbo has played excellent / consistent footy for Casey since his return from injury, and was a regular strong performer for the Dees before that. Further, Goody said in his post match presser, that heâs been playing âoutstanding footy and will get his lookâ. Q1. Is Hibboâs potential return likely to be at the expense of Tommo, and if not, who? Q2. Can Hibbo effectively play the third tall defender, to free up Jake Lever to play his key intercept role? These questions assume that Petty wonât be returning to defence any time soon. Love the pods guys! Keep up the great work.

6. Gawn - a Colossus again. What a leader! 5. Viney - behind Max, but another outstanding, âlead from the frontâ performance 4. Petty - 6 goals and only 4 votes. A revelation. 3. Melksham - getting better by the week since his return. 2. Neal-Bullen - a consistent work-horse who plays one of the hardest positions on the field. Doesnât get enough recognition. 1. Lever - just typical Jake. Plenty of others who I couldnât squeeze in including Riv, Lingers,Tracc & Hunter.
