We've hit 70k Membership
A HUGE well done to all of our Demonland brothers and sisters, and everyone else whose hearts are possessed by the red and blue! Like every one of us, I’m so excited by what lies almost within touching (kicking?) distance in 2023 ……. and beyond! Imagine what Flag or two might do to our future membership tallies. Go Dees!

……… and that says it all!

Christian Petracca and Jack Viney named in All Australian squad
Melbourne are a team, not a group of individuals! Who selects the selectors?

Darcy Parish
He’s a ‘bread & butter’ footballer. We should target players with some honey or jam on top.

PODCAST: Rd 24 vs Sydney
Really looking forward to tonight’s Pod, as usual guys. My question relates to Disco / Tommo. Clearly they bring very different attributes, including the important criterion of ‘experience’. Is it ‘horses for courses’ depending on the opposition, or is one or the other pretty much locked in for our remaining games?

VOTES: Rd 24 vs Sydney
6. Viney - strong all game, and along with Petracca, turned the game in our favour when it needed to be turned. 5. Petracca - Viney’s main accomplice in turning the game our way, but had a quieter first half. 4. Fritsch - won the game off his own boot. Welcome back Fritta, but no more ‘scares’ please. 3. Neal-Bullen - continued to play his (very underrated) role to perfection. 2. Brayshaw - ‘work horse’ continuing to produce, week in, week out. 1. McVee - played like a top shelf veteran, as usual. Langdon, Hunter and Rivers also earned a mention.

Simon Goodwin extends contract to end of 2026
The extension of Goody’s tenure is both excellent, and perfectly timed. Huge pat on the back to all concerned.

Brilliant - Free the Demons AFLW premiership doco
I’m sitting here, many months later, with tears in my eyes (again!). A brilliant production, about a brilliant team of young women who did us all proud. Let’s go Premiership (AFL) and Premiership (AFLW) in 2023. ❤️💙

PODCAST: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
Really looking forward to the Pod, as always guys. Please solve the following dilemmas so that I can sleep easy tonight: * Tommo found himself in ‘no man’s land’ far too often vs the Hawks, and is ‘treacle slow’. I really worry about how he will hold up in September! On the other hand, he seems pivotal to freeing up Rick Lever, to play his intercept role to perfection, as he did on the weekend. Is playing Tommo a compromise that we will just have to ‘wear’, because he is our best available option? * TMac played a solid game for Casey on the weekend, in only his second game back from an extended injury break. Fritta seems likely to return for the Sydney game, and is an automatic selection, when right. Melks has been excellent as both a defensive and goal kicking forward in Fritta’s absence. Joel Smith adds something ‘different’ to our forward line, with his pace and attack in the ball. Given that the Sydney game is our only ‘dress rehearsal’ before the Finals, who plays and who misses out next weekend? I don’t think we can play all of them together in finals.

VOTES: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
6. Lever - outstanding intercepting game. Possibly saved our bacon. 5. Melksham - fantastic as a defensive and attacking forward. 4. Rivers - fantastic again, and going from strength to strength. 3. Neal-Bullen - anyone who criticises his disposal today is a ‘bum’. 2. Brayshaw - purely and simply a work-horse, and did almost everything right. 1. Viney - another ‘lead by example / heart & soul’ game from our VC Apols: Sparrow, Langdon, McVee
