  1. So we beat the Blues because Lewis hit Cripps but his absence from the next 3 games cannot be a factor in any losses? Not sure I follow that logic. Hard to see how a 22 missing Hogan and Lewis makes us stronger and gives us a better chance of winning the 4 points. As the old saying goes the most important ability is availability. Hogan is a kid so not as disappointed in him as I am in club leaders Vince and Lewis.
  2. The first 3 are hardly composed or reliable with ball in hand. Keilty is an unknown quantity at AFL level. Lever would be a great acquisition if he were open to a move to the Dees and the deal could be done. Asking price would be steep no doubt.
  3. Everyone knows the MRP is a lottery. Yep the only consistent aspect of the MRP is its inconsistency. That said Jordan Lewis' actions were just bloody stupid and I don't have much sympathy for him. It is Round 2 and his loading for his bad record which made him serve an extra week would have expired after Round 5. Its time for Jordan to realise footy has changed and he has to change. The MFC has invested significant dollars and years in him and he should understand that to repay that he needs to be on the field. Hogan was a bit unlucky but again if you make contact to the head your numbers might come up at the MRP. Don't give them the opportunity. End of story.
  4. Winning ugly is progress. Lets hope next week we can hit up team mates 20 metres away.
  5. Could get off or could get a week. The Match Review Panel is almost totally impossible to predict.
  6. I will be thinking of a good mate and passionate BlueBagger who lost his battle with prostate cancer in late December 2015. Still hope we thrash em!
  7. It would have been a hard decision for the Sainters. Can see the logic in going for McCartin given how hard it is to recruit key forwards. Physically his transformation to an AFL physique is still a work in progress. Against the Eagles his footy talent was pretty obvious. It is the physical transformation required that is his issue. He does have to manage his diabetes but there are enough examples of elite athletes who have done that and performed to a high level. If he can build his physique and endurance he will be quality player.
  8. Rules as confusing as ever. No deliberate payed this arvo when a tackled player facing boundary handballed out. Tonight its a free. Holding the ball/no genuine effort/incorrect disposal an absolute lottery. Most pragmatic view is to let ball drop rather than attempt and miss handball.
  9. Stef was out injured for most of his career at Melbourne apart from one season. Always had talent and always capable of the deft and the daft. Does the basics better these days no doubt.
  10. Hawks finally making Chip feel right at home!
  11. Indeed. Palmer and Lamb were salary cap dumps. Take them on and you can pay less in draft picks for the players you want.
  12. A Key Defender who can set up the play with their disposal for mine.
  13. If the Pies had their time again surely they punt Hine when we went after his deputy on Neeld's recommendation.
  14. Chinese electronics (phones) company Oppo are about to take over sponsorship of the Indian cricket team. Their affordable but reasonably well reviewed Phones are available in Oz so what better way to get brand awareness than the back of our jumper! Presume club is holding out for a premium price rather than settling for a cheaper deal. Hopefully if we keep winning it'll be sorted.
  15. For younger folk Whelan The Wreckers were the best known Melbourne demolition company. Went belly up late 80s/early 90s. Known for their 'WHELAN THE WRECKER WAS HERE' signs.
  16. Every Dees fan loved the Wrecker!
  17. Gotta love his passion! Next time I see him on the mean streets of Camberwell or on the tram to the G I'll ask him if he knows how famous he is!
  18. Has first movers advantage, just reads the direction of the ball before other players. Then can buy time in a contest to get out and release or fire off a reflex handball from inside contest to outside. Sublime.
  19. Dare I mention that Jason Taylor was recommended for the recruiting role by the current Essendon Football Club Game Performance Manager!
  20. Did the Telstra Thanks tix too. $21 for a reserved seat. 1 telstra customer seems to be able to buy 10 tix.... i think.
  21. Hopefully they've spent the pre season learning complementary leading patterns and the art of subtle blocking and protection when flying for the same ball.
  22. If the Dees are playing in Melbourne I am there. It may actually be a medical condition. Etihad Reserved Seats are a rort.
  23. I was supposed to be playing footy the day Jacka the Attacker kicked 13? goals against North. I was on my way to the game when the MCG came into view from my tram window....
