The knock on Hawks is that their best players bar Cyril are 30 plus and slowing down. They are suspect in the midfield, down the spine and in the ruck. Of course they will do their best to utilise free agency and destination club status but it is difficult to see them finding solutions to all of those issues in 1 off season and the likes of Mitchell (34) Burgoyne (34) Hodge (33), Gibson (33) Lewis (31) will be another year older. Apart from Burton their kids have not been particularly impressive.

Plenty of AFL players decide to return to a club in their home state. If he decides to go we just need to make sure we get the best compensation possible. I'd bring Grimes in for a farewell game to get him to 100 games. For mine the club owes him that after the crap he has had to put up with. I'd keep Trengove and see how a preseason following a full season of footy after 2 years out sets him up for 2017. Smart footballer, great overhead and good disposal.
