  1. This is the draft order so far - 1. GWS 2. Melbourne 3. St. Kilda 4. W Bulldogs 5. Gold Coast 6. West Coast 7. Brisbane 8. North Melbourne 9. Collingwood 10. GWS 11. Richmond Adelaide and Essendon are out of the first two rounds.
  2. Marcus Botempelli or Matt Crouch with James Tsitas as a later selection
  3. any bright legal ideas for getting this hag to shut up mention any scandal about Richmond - Dustin Martin anyone?
  4. Rightly so. If the AFL has a rule on its books allowing draft assistance to be given then how could we possibly not qualify after seven miserable and mediocre seasons. I know some of it was self-inflicted and the cynics might add a bit was deliberate but they might as well tear up the rule book if we don't qualify.
  5. Only a rumour but there's a chance that one of their sponsors will jump ship if an adverse finding is announced by ASADA.
  6. Etihad is only one of the grounds on which the club carries a curse. Subiaco AAMI Stadium Skilled Stadium SCG
  7. Brock McLean went on this programme and makes an accusation that he left a club because of a culture of experimentation for a club that had a similar culture. The claim is never vindicated and over the ensuing months McLean's position shifted. Yet the AFL acted and created a long running inquiry that destabilized McLean's former club. Jobe Watson went on the same programme and admitted he was given a banned substance. The AFL is silent. Why?
  8. That's Kennett's old electorate. Alpacas tend to stay away from such places, therefore the alpaca hunting's not so good in Burwood.
  9. On another note, I notice that Brad Scott got his comeuppance after making some remarks about Melbourne's situation. Karma.
  10. Any danger of a 12 goal final quarter from us this week?
  11. Funny but I haven't heard Sheedy use the W word lately and yet everybody heaps praise on them even after an 83 point thrashing. Neeld has been consistent throughout with his message about his inexperienced team. The public pressure on him will bring about his downfall before he sees out the time to get his job done but good luck to the next guy because he'll need to be a genius to survive under the microscope of some until the younger brigade get the games under the legs that are necessary to win against the top sides.
  12. Heard he gets bowled over by a Bomber player and when he wakes up says, "I didn't see that coming".
  13. Wasn't Charlie Dixon one of the GC players we had a lot of trouble with when we played them in a practice match up there?
  14. The first point is correct and after that everything you say is in inconclusive and based on supposition. We need to know all of the facts before coming to any conclusions and that applies to whether the requirements of good governance were met in these circumstances. In addition, you misunderstand the concept of a lone wolf in the context of the medical officer who seeks advice of another on the matter of what supplements he is using. If he informs others in the chain that he is using his own treatment without consultation with others and has proof that what he's prescribed is legal then there's no failure of governance. Just a lone wolf acting on his own and not divulging the truth to others at the club. Unless we know the full facts, there's nothing much more than that to go on.
  15. Sorry, but if Bates was acting as a "lone wolf" at the club then by definition others above would not have known. If they knew, then they were already implicated and Bates was not acting on his own. To date, there is no evidence of this whatsoever. The law treats people the other way around. I thought you were innocent until proven guilty but it seems that in the world of corporate governance these days you are deemed guilty by speculation.
  16. Yes, yet another media giant sticking the boots in and telling us what we already know. Why do we need separate threads fo all this sh1te?
  17. Now, let me see. We went into the game without our first choice full back (Frawley), centre half back (McDonald), centre half forward (Dawes), full forward (Clark), a couple of handy midfielders in Trengove and Viney, our speedster (Blease), a couple of good indigenous players and a handy defender who were our best out at Casey (Jetta, Davey & Macdonald), a 6'10" giant (Gawn) and lost another important defender at half time (Garland) and everyone thinks the sky has just fallen. O ... K ...
  18. OK ... at the risk of starting a sectarian war on this thread but in celebration of this week's goings on at the Vatican, here goes ... An Irish daughter hadn't been home for over three years. Upon her return, her father said, "Where have ye been all this time? Why did ye not write to us? Not even a line. Why didn't ye call? Can ye not understand what ye put yer old Mother through?" The girl, cried and when she gained her composure, replied sniffing, "Daddy ... I was too embarrassed, I have become a prostitute." "Ye what? Out of here, ye shameless hussy! Sinner! You're a disgrace to this Catholic family, so yer are." "OK, Daddy...as ye wish...I just came back to give Mummy this luxurious fur coat, her and ye the title deed to an eight bedroom mansion plus a $5 million cheque. For me little brother Seamus, this gold Rolex. Also for for ye Daddy, the sparkling new Mercedes limited edition convertible that's parked outside, plus a lifetime membership to the Limerick Country Club." She took a deep breath and continued, "and an invitation for ye all to spend New Year's Eve on board my new yacht in the Caribbean." "Now tell me again what was it ye said ye had become?" asked the father. The girl, cried again, "A prostitute Daddy!" Sniff, sniff. "Oh! Be Jesus! Ye scared me half to death girl! I thought ye said a PROTESTANT. Come here and give yer old Daddy a big hug."
  19. It's actually a very good point and worth noting for when the premiership season starts. These things don't matter all that much in the NAB Cup but really ... we had a 25 point lead and were well on top halfway through the final quarter. We have to learn when we have a game by the scruff of the neck to go in for the kill. To have added another 2 or 3 goals to our lead would have lifted us about 4 places. It means nothing in this comp but these things are important when the real thing starts.
  20. Here we go again AFL will look at topping up Lance Franklin's pay if decides to move north and join GWS Certainly, we need to promote the game on a national level but does it have to be in a way that denies constituent clubs any chance of preserving their most valuable assets?
