Anyone else like me wonder why other clubs get the results of player scans and make them public a lot quicker than MFC (or is this just a case of MFCSS)?

Wow. That's what I call a cleanout. A lot of last year's regular Casey listed players out or undecided and one or two names not yet confirmed. Paul Amy who reports regularly on the VFL has reported that a few players not on the list have also signed on for 2025 including Noah Yze, still to be confirmed. Definitely will be a tough gig for Casey boys to get games this season.

Does anyone know how to determine if a player is eligible to be placed on the long term injury list? I know of a player in a suburban competition who had surgery on his Achilles late last year and was told he could be out of sport for 12 months so being over 30 years old, he decided to retire. Charlie’s surgery happened in July last year. If he was also looking at a 12 month return date, would that be sufficient for him to be put on the LTI?

This is a complete non-issue given that Kozzie is contracted for another three seasons. The Dockers are being mischievous if they are bringing it up so unless they are prepared to offer us both Andrew Brayshaw and Serong in exchange, they would be wise to look elsewhere.

On that basis, he’s clearly eligible and IMO is a definite chance for the Rising Star in 2025.

On what I saw of him in 2024 I thought he was handy at times but given the extent of the club's recruiting to date, I think the move to the Dolphins is probably a good move because it will give him more opportunities. I wonder if Riley Bonner is still on the table for Casey? As @george_on_the_outer mentioned, the club is subject to the limitations of a salary cap. There must be a limit to the number of high quality ex AFL players a club can recruit.

In Mentha’s case, he counts as a Cat B because he was an NGA player who nominated for the National Draft but was not drafted in the main draft. Tyntynder is not in any district associated with Melbourne, so how can he be rookied as a Category B?

Collingwood in real trouble if he's the only example of their culture on the training track. Their President is gorn, Graeme Wright left in a huff. AJ was of my favourites back in the day and Danny Hughes was a tough full back who gave his all. We really did select well in that first draft. Hoping we do as well tonight.

The good thing about having pick 5 is that in the event someone calls out Langford ahead of us, we get a chance to pick another quality midfielder, possibly Draper or Smillie who was once a contender for higher selection.

The Giants recruited Wade Derksen in the 2022 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft so he’s been at the club for 2½ seasons without gaining senior selection. If they think he’s so precious then fine, keep him but really, is there much point?

I had a look at the injury list again today and it's waaaay off the charts. There's almost a full team of injured players sitting on the sidelines. Can we still make something out of the season?
