  1. Convinced myself that Toumpas could play. Said nice things about Mitch Clark. Argued that Sylvia would come good. Said Stefan Martin would never be a footballers' bootlace. Believed Schwabby's whiteboard Wednesdays. Convinced myself that Liam Jurrah was a clean-cut tribal elder that would be AFL's greatest story.
  2. Great attack on the ball and man, but shabby disposal.
  3. Best available mid and best available tall. Answering that question I think it is Parish and Francis.
  4. Really like this kid. Looks a natural. Brilliant handballer, has pace and clean hands. Good head on his shoulders.
  5. It is an Australian characteristic I reckon. We're taught from a young age that our opinion matters. We're encouraged to vigorously express our opinion with little regard for someone expressing an alternative view. We're encouraged not to back down and think that shooting the messenger will somehow win us points. We lack empathy for alternative points of view and many of us maintain a superiority complex that is staggering. Australians overseas get a reputation for being know-alls and being ridiculously aggressive in expressing our often ill-thought out opinions. Demonland is no different to Australian society.
  6. Just don't know if he will make it. Lacks pace, endurance, penetration in his kicking and poor overhead. Is there a role for this kind of bloke?
  7. Amazed he lasted as long as he did on Carlton's list. Horrible, horrible footballer. Should go to the US and do the kicking thing in the NFL.
  8. One of the things I like about Parish is that his parents are farmers and that makes drafting him a certified success! Last two blonde son of farmers were Junior McDonald and Tom McDonald! We all know that if you were brought up on a farm you are wiser and more mature than your city slickin counterparts!
  9. Always thought he had something, but I never knew what it was! Took Gawn six years to come good. Maybe the Hawks are on to something! Norm Smith always reckoned that big blokes needed seven years to hit their peak.
  10. Bugg was not offered another contract so 50 might be feasible.
  11. It's an opinion! Many people in football have them. Life is not so black and white.
  12. His kicking skills were said to be elite in TAC cup. Just needs to adapt to the speed of AFL. He'll make it but in two seasons time.
  13. Difficult to judge, but interesting topic for a thread.
  14. There is no doubt that Roos is pizzed off that Howe is demanding far more than what he is worth. Think he even leaked that to Slobbo a couple of weeks ago on AFL 360, He won't be held to ransom with a guy that finishes ninth in the Bluey.
  15. Never minded him as a player. Can take a good grab. Is physical which Roos likes and better second ruck than what we have.
  16. I wonder when the the umpires blow their whistle to signal a mark they attach the following commentary. "Chris, it's in your hands if you are looking for it!"
  17. Think the saying is: one fell swoop!
  18. Has some useful attributes, though size isn't one of them. Taylor must think he is an unfulfilled talent.
  19. Against Geelong he kept Enright quiet and kicked a couple of goals. More of that and you could keep him on the list.
  20. Seems immature both on and off the ground. Get what we can (cut our losses).
  21. Loved him this year. In the game against Geelong i'd have given him three Brownlow votes ahead of Vince and Gawn. Much needed x-factor.
  22. Played his juniors at Gembrook so has a bit of you know what in him. Roos-type of player. Had 33 possies against us last year. Right age and experience.
  23. Question is can he run? Nice romantic story to draft him, son of a great and all... but there won't be much interest unless he can cover the turf quickly.
  24. Go out on a limb here but I thought Dunn was bog ordinary except for the Geelong game. I want more from a player in his prime with 150 games experience. The fact that he he finished 10th in the b&f tells me the coaches were also disappointed.
  25. If the rumour is true then I am happy as the current decision makers see things exactly like me. Getting rid of experienced guys that don't lead by example is a great ploy.
