We all need a good scapegoat. Four of the supposed six defenders today are not good enough. That's not his fault. Nor is the decision to use zone defence. Most clubs in the league do that. The problem is quality. White, OMac, Grimes don't have it. Back-up of Garland, Dunn, Lumumba, Salem, Melksham and Terlich, etc are either not good enough or not there.

Too simplistic in my opinion. Hickey, Gresham, Newnes, Ross, Stevens, Billings and Dunstan all played pretty well.

Nope we're not good enough when it matters. If Wagner, OMac, Hunt, Brayshaw, petracca, Harmes, White, etc stick around and play 30 games together they'll get there.

Defence is a joke. White, Grimes, OMac.

Why?

As a former journo I can confirm that 99 percent of these stories come from player agents. They need the journos to help drive up the price of their player which in-turn means more money for them.

It's the trifecta of pace, courage and hands for me. The pace is well documented. I fear for Hunt's slight frame sometimes. He cracks in beyond his age and experience. And I'll think the more games he plays the more we will appreciate his marking and sure-handedness.

Potentially. I think Hunt is the one. Has elite, AFL characteristics. Could take two seasons though. Gawn the only one now although I suspect every club would want Jack Viney playing for them.

Smashed in the midfield. Game plan was wrong to try and hit up target around the flanks. Should have planted Dawes in the square and bombed to him. Too many blokes didn't do enough. Stretch, Jetta, Kennedy, Tyson, etc.

If you win the contested footy and the clearances you have to convert. A waste otherwise. Have a feeling Hunt will be something special. Looks a gun.
