  1. You're mad if you think AFL players eat and live to a diet 7 days a week throughout the whole of the AFL football season.
  2. Is it a case of the contract extension curse? Do some players work rate change when they put pen to paper?
  3. Mark my words. Oliver will be a better player than Petracca and one of our elite midfielders in the future. Take it from me, you have NOTHING to worry about Oliver.
  4. Sorry. I forgot to put Hogan as an OUT as well and to bring in another player. I was thinking Spencer plays majority in the ruck and rest Gawn in the forward line in absence of Hogan on the count of him being suspended.
  5. OUT: White, Kennedy, Grimes IN: Spencer, Oliver, Stretch,
  6. 32 disposals, 9 marks, 8 tackles! operating at 90% disposal efficiency. Great game by Jack. If you think otherwise I highly advise you to tune out from any future AFL games.
  7. He is called 'The Crab' for a reason. Pass
  8. For those of you who may not know this, but there is a MASSIVE difference in terms of speed with and without the ball. A player can be blistering face by running in a straight line over 20metres. You put that same player, ball in hand trying to break a line going as fast as he can it's a completely different story. You look at Hunt.. he actually doesn't even break stride when he bounces the ball. He bounces it so far in front of him the speed allows him to run onto it perfectly. He is great at this.
  9. Strech is great at buying time in order to find a target. So many times when he gathered the ball on our half back and looked up there wasn't a single Melbourne player in sight. His ability to dance around and bork a few opponents until a team mate is free is a great asset Billy has.
  10. My post is only speculation, but If I had to put a wager on it, I would almost guarantee that Prestia will land at Richmond. My points below: Richmond will have a clear cut round 1 draft pick to offer Gold Coast. This would be of more value in this years highly rated pool than to risk it for a future first round pick from us, especially when we are on the continual rise Gone are the days of Melbourne paying overs for a player The amount of money Prestia and his manager could squeeze out of Richmond would be way above what we would be willing to pay. Richmond are known for just throwing the cheque book at players to land a quality player. And with them missing out on players like Hartlett and Treloar they will do and will pay whatever it takes to secure a player like Prestia to try and recover any reputation they lost with previous players turning them down and either signing on at a different club I get that Prestia has a family tie and bond to Melbourne and he would have a much more greater chance in having success at the Dees, however that pay difference between us and Richmond I feel would be too much to gamble for Prestia We have more of a demand in a key position backman than we do Prestia
  11. 3 Way Trade: Melbourne: OUT: Tmac IN: Hurley Sydney: OUT: Mitchell, IN: T Mac Essendon: OUT: Hurley, IN: Mitchell. Is everyone a happy suitor here?
  12. For some reason despite how good Christian Petracca plays in the latter part of the season, I have a feeling the AFL would push for Wietering to win it over us. Could you imagine..our key position player last year winning it over Carltons midfielder and then our midfielder winning it over theirs this year...lol
  13. Sad news. Horrible run with injuries. Unfortunately I just don't see a future with JKH. Doesn't have the assets to me to warrant as an investment player.
  14. I think you should look at the bigger picture. It's not that Oliver has dropped in terms of his output. It's that the performance of his surrounding midfielders has been significantly lifted. Oliver starred in the first few opening rounds with him appearing in more centre clearances than as of late. Roos is utilising Dom Tyson and Bernie Vince more in the midfield and stoppages, with Vince going up an extra gear that I didn't think was possible. Therefore, requiring less of Clarry at important stoppages and more than likely has less % of game time than previous rounds. It would be very interesting to have some stats around this which would help back up my point.
  15. I completely agree. His ball gathering skills and ability to be involved in score assists was a stand out on Monday. I was actually quite impressed by his game and follow up work when the ball hit the ground.
  16. In: Gartlett, Matt Jones Out: Vandenberg, NFI
  17. He really backs himself well. I love the way he tucks the ball under his arm and uses his pace to break the lines. The thing he needs to improve on now I feel is to practice on releasing a handball more effectively than just to another team mate who is under the same amount of pressure, and needs to slow down on those last 4-5 steps and focus more on hitting a target and lowering his eyes (like Saad).
  18. Contracts are like hearts. They are made to be broken.
  19. I've always loved Hibberd. Great spoiler, marker and terrific user of the footy. Would slot in very well in our backline. WANT
  20. OUT: Harmes, Omac IN: Kennedy, Garland/Lumumba (Depending who is fit)
  21. So..umpires don't pay a single in danger the entire game when there is clearely times when a players head could be kicked in, yet they report Vince and pay 50m penalty for an open hand slap that didn't connect? [censored] off.
  22. Not sure if anyone was listening, but I called SEN this morning on the hallelujah segment and gave a HALLELUJAH TO JACK TRENGOVE BABBBYYYYYYYY Can't wait to see him run through the banner this weekend. GO DEES!
  23. Giving Gawn a rest would be a HUGE mistake. Just because Port have Jackson Trengove rucking for them, doesn't mean we can afford to play Spencer. We need to capitalize on their weakness which is their midfield. The games we have played against the top teams Gawn has had an influence one way or another. We were the leading team in the AFL in clearances for a reason. We play that diamond defense, were we afford to lose a defender and get more numbers around the ball and stoppages to win a midfield battle. With Gawn rucking against Port, this will allow our structure and game plan to work so much more effectively if he is dominating the hit outs and feeding our midfielders.
