I did the list turnover numbers a few years ago. The average list turnover was around 10 or 11 and the minimum was around 8. That's what we should be expecting this year, especially if lists are reduced. 2019 Retirements and Delists https://www.draftguru.com.au/years/2019/retirements-delistings 141/18 = 7.8 Free Agents and Trades https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_AFL_draft 10 + 26 = 36/18 = 2

The warped draft
I don't think it's all pushing out up to pick 23, as @Little Goffy in his excellent OP points out and you acknowledge, there will be some coming in from picks being consumed to make up points. The AFL brought in the rule that says teams can only bunch picks for points equal to the number of list vacancies they have. The Dogs for example aren't going to be able pay for pick 1 entirely with picks beyond 23.

Make it 3.

Neville Jetta
AFAIK he's already contracted for 2021.

Assistant Coaches 2021
On 3AW yesterday Leigh Matthews said the CEO is the most important appointment and everything flows from there including the coach. We were clearly blessed having Peter Jackson and hopefully Gary Pert is a capable operator too - time will tell. Matthews seems to have learnt a lot in his time as a Brisbane board member, not least of all that the board shouldn't meddle in Operations.

Kade Kolodjashnij on Battling Concussion
If a club is undertaking aggressive list management there will be errors. NO club is error free. Richmond - Chris Yarran, Geelong - Mitch Clark.

Rhyce Shaw takes extended break
North's youth is not the problem - Simpkin, Zuhaar, Larkey, LDU, Thomas and Scott can all play and they have picks 2 and 9 in what looks like a good draft for KPs who are hard to find. They have good senior role models in Cunnngton, Ziebell, Tarrant and Goldstein. It's the black hole in their 24-27yo that's the big issue. They are trying to offload Brown and Polec for picks, and the only others who are AFL standard are Anderson, McDonald and Dumont - hardly inspiring. They are in for 4 years of rebuild pain at a very bad time.

Rhyce Shaw takes extended break
Questionable posts in a thread about the mental health of a coach.

Finals: Week 3
I'm with you Steve but there will be a decent measure of misery for the loser.

Assistant Coaches 2021
I'd be keen to see you take that up with Brendan McCartney.

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
No I don't think he is.

Nick Hind
I realise it's highlights but he appears to have an agile sidestep that Hunt lacks and looks strong on both sides. Hunt is not going to take us there, We should delist him, and I do think somone will pick him up and gve him a go - good luck to him.

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Hinkley is in his 8th year and no flag. Port lost the PF by 6 points - by your simple logic today he's sacked.
-
Nick Hind
I find that very hard to believe with King, Marshall, Ryder and Membery

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
So you're sacking Ken Hinkley today?
-
Nick Hind
Good pace and agility. Nice kicking skills on both sides. Went back with the flight. Good highlights.

Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
Yes he doesn't show metres gained attributes with run and kicking depth, has strong turnover tendencies and he needs to be harder at the contest. I'm willing to give him a year to see but I wouldn't blink if he was delisted.
-
Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
Yes Baker is worth persevering with on the list but I don't want to be relying on him to hold down a wing next year.
-
Tom Phillips - Outside Skills and Speed
I don't rate Baker. We need either Smith or Phillips.

Oliver Rumours on Footy Classified
Look everyone's tradable. My starting position is Cripps, Weitering, McKay, Walsh, pick 7 and 2021 1st rounder. Every day they don't accept add another player. Am i doing it right Adrian?

Finals: Week 3
Port v Brisbane GF please. Richmond v Geelong - too horrible to contemplate

Farewell Oscar McDonald
He has sufficient AFL traits to play 81 AFL games including every game as a KPB in 2018, our most successful recent season. As I've posted earlier in the thread, he does have deficiencies but they are magnified in some supporters minds because they often occur on the last line and result in opposition goals. FTR, I totally agree with the idea that it's time for him to move on from MFC. Are you taking up my bet?
-
Farewell Oscar McDonald
KPB depth. He's not as bad as people make out here. He's a 24yo one club KPD with further development available, another club is likely to back their development capabilities, for better or worse MFC's are not generally regarded as state-of-the-art. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes on to play 150 AFL games. If he goes to another club you can buy a membership at that club - let's see how "guaranteed" you really think it is that he won't.

Farewell Oscar McDonald
I expect him to be DFA and on another AFL club's list next year - let's see who's right.
