Delistings
Looking at @Lucifer's Hero out-of-contract list from a role point of view (in playing # order) gives some insight: Tall Back: OMac Medium Back: Hibberd, Hore, J.Wagner, Smith, Small Back: Nietschke, Lockhart R: Bradtke Mids: Jones, Viney, Jordon, Sparrow, Dunkley Tall Fwd: Petty, Brown Medium Fwd: Hannan, Hunt, Fritsch Small Fwd: Spargo, Bedford, Bennell, Chandler, C.Wagner It depends how much depth we believe we have elsewhere in those roles and who we might be bringing in, but Medium Backs, Mids, Medium Fwds and Small Fwds look overstocked.

He's definitely got a better chance of getting a date with you than being an AFL coach next year.
-
Jack Gunston
I agree Fritsch is frustrating, he misses too many shots he should kick but this is fixable, he is weak defensively and that's his greatest problem IMO. There's no doubt Gunston is superior but it's not our biggest problem and where I'd spend scarce resources.

We desperately need a gun key forward
That's complete rubbish. Our 10 best players this year are all 28 years old or younger and most of them are 24yo or younger. May 28, Gawn 28, Viney 26, Salem 25, Petracca 24, Lever 24, Langdon 24, Brayshaw 24, Oliver 23 and Fritsch 23. Weid 23, Petty 20 and Sparrow 20 are all developing and there's high hopes for Jordon 19. That doesn't even take into account Jackson, Pickett and Rivers who all showed they will be at least good AFL players.

Jack Gunston
I'd prefer to keep Fritsch - 24yo next year and still with scope to improve vs Gunston at 29yo who will cost a lot more. https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?playerStatus1=A&tid1=12&playerStatus2=A&tid2=11&type=A&pid1=6505&pid2=3342&fid1=S&fid2=S Gunston is not going to solve our forward line issues, we need a strong marking target (supposed to have been TMac) and more dangerous tackling crumbers.

Delistings
No-one here can make a sensible call on Jordon, Nietschke, Chandler, Dunkley or Bradtke given the season we've had and the fact that we haven't been able to see them play. The FD however will know what they want to do.

Delistings
Yes it surely has, but if there is a change it would be yet to be announced, we were possibly playing finals about 12 hours ago. I think Goodwin will stay unless Bartlett and Pert have Clarkson in a hat. I agree Mahoney has done a very good job but he and the club may feel it's time to move on. It will be an interesting week.

There is absolutely no chance that we'll sack Goodwin and replace him with Jordan Lewis who has never coached a day of football.

Delistings
A decision has to be made on Goodwin and/or Mahoney before list changes are contemplated since they are the ones making the changes. If we see wholesale changes quickly then I think you can bet bottom dollar Goodwin is staying. If we are going to a new coach then that coach will want to have input on the list and it's likely that there will be far fewer changes while he takes a year to make assessments.

Jack Gunston
He's a better version of Fritsch. He's not our biggest need.

Jack Viney Restricted Free Agent
One of your very best!

Agree won some good one on ones. I'm a fan.

CHANGES: Finals?
Jack Riewoldt just said on AW that Marty Hore is playing very well for the Tigers in a scratch match vs Brisbane. He'd be a handy in if we make it.

We desperately need a gun key forward
Jackson and Petty weren't playing today, let's just see what they can do ... Weid was very strong in the contest today and has had a good year.

Trade Fritsch
Your's and Elegt's great claim to fame and football knowledge is that you think Oliver is a good player

Trade Fritsch
Looking a little foolish now ...

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Essendon
Good selection by Goodwin to retain Brown when there must have been a lot of temptation to play Jackson.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Essendon
It was a decent win in a must-win game. Essendon have talent and they've gone 12-10 the last 3 years. Notable that we've gone 6-4 since the compressed fixture while they've gone 1-1-8. They were going to get momentum at some stage and to play the all out attack they needed gave us opportunities out the back which we took. We won 68-49.

Angus Brayshaw's Foot
Incorrect you're thinking of plantar fascitis.

Adam Saad
Agreed we should chase him hard and if we had our 1st I'd be willing to trade it.

AFL TRADE, DRAFT AND FREE AGENCY DATES 2020
Wonder when list sizes and salary cap are going to be announced - pretty crucial to the process ...

Trade Harmes?
It depends who is is looking elsewhere. Viney, Brayshaw and Harmes have all been raised as possible exits and I wouldn't be surprised if someone from that set was elsewhere next year. But not all 3 please.

North Axes 11
I've taken some interest in them because of their "death-riding" our pick this year. They've ended up with the two 1st rounders they hoped for but they haven't got them the way they thought they would. Their list is in a world of hurt over the next period. They've got a strong 29+ group and a promising under 23 group but they've got a hole in the middle the size of the Grand Canyon. I make that they only have 5 AFL standard players in the 23-28yo age group: Anderson, Polec, Dumont, Ben Brown and McDonald. They are trying to trade 2 of them. That's the group that's going to take them forward for the next 5 years. There's going to be a lot of pain over that period. They do have a good chance to come out of it strongly with the drafting opportunities they will have added to their decent under 23s. But then in the big picture you've got to ask whether a minnow club can survive 5 ugly years in these desperate times.
