If we're bringing in quality someone has to go to balance the salary cap books. It's TMac for Brown, and if not there'll be further unexpected trades required. if we're bringing in some combination or even one of Smith, Phillips and Polec someone has to give and Harmes is nice to have and the most expendable quality we have. If you think trade out after this year's result is TMac, Preuss and fringe, then I recommend think again.

Thread should be on Trade and Draft board.

I think they need to win today or things will start to come apart at the seams. Most clubs would love their continuous contending but it's situation normal for them and they'll definitely see 2nd as failure. There will be massive pressure on Chris Scott and at least some of the players will start to doubt the message. No doubt they'll be thereabouts for the next couple of years but that won't be enough. Closing on 10 years bridesmaids. There will be a big winner today, but there will be a big loser too.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

2021 flag, Coleman with 5 goals vs 18th for 3 years. -
Geelong have defied AFL gravity for a long time through great management, but just like Brisbane, Sydney and Hawthorn their fall is coming.
-
Amazed you're a fan, what with "186", "history of cultural failure", Norm Smith yada-yada. But then you don't understand the role. Have a read of @Lucifer's Hero and @deanox posts for a clear understanding.

Calling @Elegt - start saving for that membership

Rapt if this the case. I love Nev and want to see the best for him and if that was a longer contract at Collingwood then so be it. But even better if he's staying with us.

As Peggy O'Neill said recently: Richmond are in the business of creating a successful football product (or similar, quote not exact). Modern football is exremely technical. The FD will report progress and performance to the Board. They need expertise to help interpret and evaluate the message.
-
I rate him and would like to have seen him tried at wing or HB but there must be reasons why the FD believe he wouldn't make it there. in interviews he seems like a good guy, I hope he has a decent career at the Dogs, I think Beveridge is a very good mentor. We'll get a future 4th for him.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

So there's a dysfunctional relationship between NMFC and Ben Brown? Take a good look at NMFC right now and tell me which one is likely to be dysfunctional. -
Luke Jackson. How many Port or Brisbane forwards would displace current Richmond or Geelong forwards?
-
Why not - we're the traditional home of the dud brother. Trade Angus to Freo and list Hamish DFA and we're back in form.

and waste the rest?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN

Look I'm a big Weid fan but the facts are he's behind where Hawkins, Kennedy, Dixon and Lynch were at the same age. That's at least partly explainable because the KPF role is way harder now than it was 5 years ago for Lynch let alone 10 years ago for the other three. I think that it's unlikely that Weid takes the role by the scruff next year and where the club is at, that's what we need someone to do. The best 3 teams this year have that someone and Brisbane are chasing Daniher. I think we need to pull the trigger on Brown and sort out "too many options" as the season progresses. Someone may get injured - who knows? I'd prefer we have a choice. -

I understand your reservations with Brown, Weid, Jackson and Fritsch in the forward line. If Brown doesn’t come where do you see Petty playing next year? I like him back in place of Tomlinson and I know you're not Tomlinson fan. If Brown comes then Petty can definitely play back. I think Brown and Weid can work together, it's not really any different to the previously planned TMac and Weid. If Jackson and Fritsch are there too then we have to get crumbiing and pressure from the other forward - Pickett and ??? Of course I'd love that to be Viney but concede that's unlikely. I think we need to trade in a pressure forward if we get Brown. -
He's in WA and Josh Kennedy is 103yo - if he was a desirable target West Coast would be all over him.
-
We've got a few fringe 24-26yo one club players who have been on our list for quite a while and just haven't been able to establish a role - Hannan, Hunt, ANB, OMac. I think they owe it to themselves to try to ply their trade elsewhere. Some make make a decent career elsewhere but I don't think we'll really miss any of them.

Freo seem to be on the rise but the Hogan recruitment wasn't among Peter Bell's finest moments

Yes and Collingwood have had their biggest finals wins when Cox has fired. -
I wonder if that puts them out of the Caldwell chase?

I'm torn. Continued organic improvement from Weid, hopefully a full season from Jackson and Petty vs. the instant target hit of Brown but who may make us too tall overall. Which way are you coming down Spongy? -
The CEO is conducting a review of the FD. Probably holding off final list decisions until that's complete is a good idea?

How many special people change? How many lives are living strange?

Light on detail and information as expected. Previously you had him never maling it.
