  1. I don't know. Wooden spoons look pretty good with cookie dough all over them.
  2. Jamar taps it straight to his feet. Even if you knew how to pick it up cleanly, you'd be swamped by opponents as soon as you got the thing.
  3. You are a strange man, Doctor.
  4. Didn't Deledio JUST sign a five year contract?
  5. We already are competitive when we go forward. We're usually not competetive around stoppages, so we need some great clearance mids.
  6. It was a shitty handpass that Moloney couldn't be farked reaching out to grab.
  7. Didn't see the movie. Did the Mighty Ducks lose a lot at first?
  8. You mean the one that Moloney barely even reached out his hands to grab?
  9. 6 months? Most people are lucky to have a player memory of longer than 1 week.
  10. Because his awesome endurance is wasted in the forwardline. Our team is really unfit, so we need our hard runners doing the hard running.
  11. For us to get that lucky it would be more like Powerball than Moneyball.
  12. I'm similar. I don't mind when people point out bad things that happen. What I hate most, however, is when supporters immediately presume the worst. Someone goes down with an injury; "oh, that'll be the season done for him." Someone takes a mark inside 50 "oh, he'll miss it for sure." Similarly, outright abuse of our players is abhorrent. Luckily, I don't hear that very often.
  13. With players, it's different because of the team nature of the game. The point I'm making is that the coach should be the final arbiter of which players the club persists with, and he should make these decisions with a very long term plan in place. Statistically, a player could play zero games for his club, yet that club could still win a premiership, so the comparison between player and coach tenures can't be made, IMO.
  14. You don't have to be Einstein to see that Morton and Grimes played well on the weekend.
  15. Put it this way. Statistically, a club should win a premiership every 16th (now 18th) year. Yet no coach is ever given nearly that long to turn a club around. Every time you change coaches, you effectively set yourself back a few years and damage the stability of your club. While I'm not sad DB got the axe, and reckon Mark Neeld is a much better coach, it is just another in a long line of examples of coaches getting sacked before they could reasonably have been expected to give their club success. I reckon if a club went to a new coach "we'll give you a ten year contract. Do whatever you think is necessary to win a premiership in that tenth year," you'd see less follow the leader strategy and some more comprehensive plans put in place by coaches.
  16. I think that's why we've never won a Premiership.
  17. The thing about Dangerfield is he is odds on to take the next three weeks to pick up 40 more possessions. I'd still have him at the Club, though. But what I really want is Brendon Goddard. I wonder if Jordie's performance on him on Saturday night made him more or less likely to want to hang out at the Dees.
  18. Doughnuts with holes in them are just diet doughnuts.
  19. This is exactly what I envisioned when I first heard about the new Webjet sponsorship. It certainly would look much better.
  20. Ashton Hams from West Coast has built his game around being 5'10 and running at a slant, then whipping his neck back at the slightest contact. What Selwood does is fine by me because 1) he gets a lot of hard ball; and 2) he uses a technique that, even if the high-contact free kick didn't exist, would still get him out of a lot of tackles by brushing the opponent's arms over his head so he can escape.
  21. For all those who want to see it again, here it is. Perhaps the most awesome smother of all time!
  22. Two players can both be good at the same time. Darling's good performance has no impact on Cook's good performance, albeit at a lower level.
